Mabel stepped out of her chamber with her usual polite soft expression. Her door shut softly behind her. The faint click echoed once before fading into nothing.
She didn't move immediately.
Her fingers rested lightly at her side. Her gaze stayed forward, and her posture perfect.
She suddenly stilled. Something shifted. She felt a glow she have never felt.
Mabel's brows drew together faintly.
It came softly at first. Thw scent was almost too faint to notice. But then it deepened into something warmer, and richer, curling into her senses.
The scant felt so alive, and sweet. The scent got deeper, as it pulled and nudged at her. Her breath paused, and her wolf stirred knowingly with knowledge her body couldn't grasp.
Mabel's head tilted slightly.
The scent grew stronger. Her feet moved before she consciously decided to walk. She took one step, then another.
