Aire rested her head against the cage wall.
The cold stone pressed against her temple.
For once, she wasn't thinking about escape. Her thoughts remained trapped on Vaelor. More specifically, on the absurd thing that had come out of his mouth.
Move into Lysander's chambers.
Aire stared at the opposite wall. She slowly stared at the vines again, then back at the wall and back at the vines.
The vines remained wrapped around her wrists like smug little criminals.
Aire narrowed her eyes. She folded her arms, and the vines tightened slightly.
Aire quickly unfolded her arms again, and the vines relaxed. Aire hated them deeply, passionately, and personally.
Her stomach growled.
Aire ignored it. Her stomach growled again, and she ignored it harder.
Silence returned to the cell the moment her stomach relaxed. However, her stomach relaxed for approximately seven seconds.
Then her stomach growled a third time.
Aire sighed. She slid farther down the wall.
