Reality immediately returned to her like ice water.
Aire froze. Her eyes flew open, and the spell shattered instantly. She shoved both hands against his chest hard.
Lysander stumbled backward in surprise.
Aire sat upright immediately.
Her breathing came fast.
She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand as though trying to erase what had just happened.
The room became painfully silent.
Lysander stared at her while Aire refused to look at him. She stared somewhere beyond the room.
She clenched her jaw in memories. Nate tugged at her chest. She let out a long breath as Alaric eyes flashed before her and Xanden's voice brushed her ears.
The image struck her so hard her chest hurt.
Aire lowered her gaze. A fresh wave of shame rolled through her stomach, and her fingers curled into the blankets beneath her.
Lysander remained standing where she had pushed him.
Aire could feel his eyes on her. She hated that she knew exactly how those eyes looked right now.
