Chapter 52 - Chapter 52

Even though all of this was already the kind of thing everyone handled privately without saying it out loud,

he still insisted on putting it out in the open and pushing it through together.

Ross could already imagine how much money and effort would have to be spent behind the scenes to get that law passed.

His evaluation of it was simple.

Too much money, too much free time.

Still, he did not say anything about it.

At worst, it would just stir up some arguments about morality and human rights. It would not cause any truly massive trouble.

If Killian wanted to touch that live wire, then let him.

"Still, if it's only about legislation related to human experimentation, then I can answer you right now. No problem."

"In fact, you might even gain more allies because of it."

After saying that, Ross turned and walked out.

At this point, the cooperation between both sides was officially established.

The military would use the Tyrants and technical teams Killian provided for free during the testing phase, and in return, they would have to step forward to support them during future legislative efforts.

And for Ross, that was not difficult at all. He might as well do it as a favor.

Killian was the same.

After getting what he wanted, he looked toward Senator Kennedy at the side.

The two exchanged a smile.

Even though neither of them had made any actual money this time, sometimes connections themselves were a huge form of wealth.

Used properly, they could be even more valuable than hard cash.

After instructing the researchers at the scene to carefully recover all Tyrant tissue and remains, Killian boarded the helicopter with Kennedy and returned to Miami.

...

The next day.

After arriving at the company, Killian summoned the newest researcher he had recruited at great expense, Doctor Octopus, Otto, into his office.

In the MCU, because Spider-Man was still only in elementary school, Otto at this time was just a physicist deeply passionate about physics and thermonuclear astrophysics.

And in this world, he had not yet developed any idea about building a reactor.

By chance, Killian had discovered that he was still conducting research at a university, so he recruited him over to mainly take charge of signal development.

And this was exactly Killian's next plan.

Laying out 5G signal infrastructure and entering the smartphone industry.

This was the result of considerable thought before Killian finally made the decision.

Because no matter what direction he developed in later, signal transmission would always be the most important problem.

Artificial intelligence processing and robot operation both required massive amounts of data processing and signal transmission as their core.

The reason Baymax's intelligence level was so high right now was because the Baymax technology Killian had exchanged from the system already included advanced processing chips.

And now, if that technology were miniaturized and paired with advances in signal technology,

then a truly epoch-making smartphone would sweep across the globe in an overwhelming fashion.

There was no need to explain how massive the impact would be of a fully touch-screen smartphone in an era when the public was still mostly using newly introduced 2G phones, most of them flip phones or sliders.

Just imagine how terrifying it would be to place a modern iPhone in the year 2000.

Not to mention signal technology itself.

Even the technologically advanced U.S. military was still only using 3G-level signal systems, while 4G was still mostly theoretical.

Killian directly beginning investment into 5G was enough to monopolize the entire high-tech industry.

"Boss, you wanted to see me."

At that moment, Otto pushed open the door, walked in, and said to Killian with a smile.

"This is the latest 4G signal technology. Take a look first."

When he saw Otto enter, Killian handed over the technical documents that had already been prepared on the desk.

"Full-duplex technology, MIMO, waveform enhancement, network slicing..."

"This is 4G signal technology?!"

"This... this is unbelievable."

"I always thought these technologies should still be theoretical."

After taking the documents from Killian and reading them seriously for a while, Otto kept reacting in surprise again and again as he saw the technical content inside. Only after finishing did he look at Killian with disbelief.

At first, he had thought these documents were just references, or perhaps a general research direction.

What he had not expected was that all of the core technical content had already been completely written out.

There were even notes attached to each core section.

It was practically an idiot-proof manual.

Even a fresh graduate could probably build it.

"Our company has always been committed to benefiting the public through technology."

"And 4G signal technology is also something we've been researching for a long time. It's only recently started to mature, but the person previously in charge left, so I thought of you. Well? Do you have confidence that you can finish it?"

After hearing Otto's reaction, Killian casually explained.

"Of course. No problem."

Otto nodded decisively.

"Good. Take the materials back to your lab and study them thoroughly. After that, you'll mainly be responsible for the company's upcoming communications project."

"And here's another set of materials, the latest smart phone, Pioneer. I want you to use it as the template, then combine it with Baymax's intelligent chip. Within one month, I want them turned into reality, built into a physical prototype, and fully tested. Can you do it?"

Then Killian handed Otto another set of technical materials related to the high-end smartphone and asked in a serious tone.

"Heh, now that's at least a little challenging."

"Wait for my good news, Boss."

Only after hearing Killian finally give him something with pressure behind it did Otto smile in relief. Then, after saying that, he picked up the documents and headed back toward his lab.

As the office door closed again, Killian turned around and looked out at the sky beyond the window.

To be honest, all of these materials were already complete. As long as they were replicated, success was guaranteed.

But if he did everything alone, it would take far too much time.

He needed high-level scientific talent to assist him.

And in the future, things would inevitably be just like now.

He would provide the core technologies and final results, while the integration and implementation in the middle would have to be handled by these people through organization and innovation.

And that was exactly why Killian spared no expense in recruiting them.

It was a shame that Baymax's help in the field of artificial intelligence was still not strong enough.

Otherwise, his research progress would be far greater.
