Chapter 59 - Chapter 59

"Boss, the 4G network and the smartphone are both finished as well. This is the final product. Please take a look."

After the others finished giving their reports, Otto stepped forward, handed the phone to Killian, and began his own report.

After taking the phone from Otto, Killian immediately started examining it.

It had 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. On top of that, it came with satellite communication, disaster alerts, emergency calling, and even a built-in holographic projection sensor.

It could honestly be said that this tiny phone represented the peak of technological advancement for the next thirty years.

Of course, that was assuming Tony did not suddenly lose his mind and charge into the phone industry to stir everything up.

As Killian operated the device, everyone present looked at the phone's futuristic design and powerful features, and a trace of envy could not help but appear in their eyes.

After all, they were still using flip phones and slider phones. A brand-new full-touchscreen phone like the one in Killian's hand was something they had never even heard of before, let alone seen.

And each one of those features, taken individually, would be enough to keep a small company alive on its own.

"Very good, Otto. You've done an excellent job, far beyond my expectations."

After testing out the phone's various functions, Killian looked at Otto with obvious satisfaction and praised him.

Honestly, at first he had only wanted Otto to calmly reproduce something at about the level of an iPhone 15 for him. After all, Killian had already given him all the necessary technologies, and Otto had only needed to choose the best possible combination from among them.

But what Killian had not expected was that Otto had even managed to integrate the holographic projection function that the company was still actively developing. It was all far beyond what he had anticipated.

At that moment, Killian once again gained a deeper understanding of the saying that talent was the driving force behind all development.

"This time, everyone here will receive an additional thirty million in project bonuses, with each project lead distributing their own share."

"Oh, right. Otto, once the time comes, produce one hundred of these phones first. Treat them as internal rewards for the project staff present here."

After quietly slipping Otto's phone into his pocket, Killian smiled and spoke to the room.

"Boss, you're practically God!"

After hearing Killian's words, the group could not help blurting that out.

"All right, from here on I need all of you to maintain the current momentum. Barry, next Wednesday in Miami we'll begin the product launch for this conference. You'll be responsible for publicity and venue arrangements."

"When the time comes, Lisa will handle hosting duties."

After listening to everyone's flattery, Killian finally continued in a serious tone.

"Boss, me?!"

But when she heard Killian unexpectedly call on her, Lisa herself froze for a moment.

She had originally thought her role would be handling product sales for the launch. She had not expected the boss to hand the launch event itself over to her as well. That was practically a president's responsibility.

"Yes. And while all of you are here, starting today, Lisa will serve as the company's VP, responsible for external affairs and sales."

"The formal notice will be issued by Human Resources after the meeting."

Looking at the stunned Lisa in front of him, Killian nodded and confirmed it firmly.

As soon as Killian said that, everyone in the room began applauding.

Otto, being a newcomer, naturally had little to say since he did not know the others very well.

As for the other two, they were both veteran employees who had come with Killian from the beginning, and their promotions had not been any slower than Lisa's.

Not to mention that when Lisa had first been serving as Killian's secretary, she had often interacted with them, and they had all formed a good impression of one another.

A superior whose background they understood and whose character they trusted was far better than having the boss bring in some unknown outsider to serve as vice president later.

So both of them sincerely began congratulating Lisa.

Seeing the atmosphere in the room, Killian nodded, then announced that the meeting was adjourned and walked out.

...

Over the following days, under Killian's approval, Pioneer Technology's product launch began proceeding in an orderly way.

With support and coordination from the company's operations department and various major figures from different sectors, the preparations advanced smoothly.

After only a single day had passed, the news exploded across the internet.

Pioneer Technology would be holding a product pre-launch event one week later, and at that event, a world-leading smartphone, touch-interactive holographic projection, and 4G signal technology would all make their debut.

At the same time, invitations to the launch event were also sent out across multiple industries.

In this era, when the internet had only just begun to take shape, such news was like dropping an atomic bomb into the water. It was shocking beyond words.

And not only that, major American companies and government agencies also began reposting the announcement online one after another.

With that butterfly effect amplifying everything, it could now be said that the entire internet knew about it.

For a time, news about Pioneer Technology's launch event was everywhere. Every media outlet was frantically publishing its own take, all trying to seize as much attention as possible before the frenzy truly arrived.

"Shocking: A revolutionary LCD smartphone is about to debut. Is it just a marketing gimmick, or the real thing?"

"Touchscreen phones: an unprecedented innovation and disruption. The arrival of the future, or just a passing fad?"

"Science fiction enters reality: controllable holographic projection technology is about to overturn everything you know."

"Three minutes to understand the development history of Pioneer Technology."

"A nightmare for phone manufacturers: the arrival of 4G signals as Pioneer Technology enters the communications industry."

"Pioneer Technology, the dark horse that appeared out of nowhere. Can it really deliver a new technological wave like Baymax did?"

"Pioneer Technology to officially begin smartphone pre-orders both online and in physical stores."

"The next hotspot in the phone industry: Pioneer Technology opens large-scale recruitment for distributors."

At that moment, the homepage headlines of nearly every major web portal had been completely taken over by these topics.

And among them, the most important issue, and the one that attracted the greatest attention from businessmen, was the pre-order model Killian had introduced.

After all, in this era, people were still stuck in the mindset of paying on one side and receiving the goods on the other.

Yet Pioneer Technology had suddenly introduced a pre-sale marketing model.

At that moment, a great many businessmen were eagerly waiting to laugh at them, because from ancient times to the present, who could possibly be that foolish?

To put it bluntly, if a large number of people placed orders, if there were millions or even tens of millions of buyers, and each person paid several thousand dollars, then the company could simply run off with hundreds of billions of dollars.

Faced with such a staggering amount of money, anyone with a functioning brain could imagine it. So at that moment, almost everyone's view of Pioneer Technology was the same: just a reckless young man who had no understanding of how ruthless the business world really was.
