Chapter 66 - Chapter 66

The purpose of their visit this time was obvious. One reason was that they had recognized the enormous value of virtual projection in medicine. Just imagine it: before a patient undergoes surgery, Baymax first scans the patient's entire body and builds a full model. Then, the virtual projection system perfectly reproduces it at a one-to-one scale.

At that point, a doctor could operate on the model first, make the incision there, enlarge the view step by step, and observe everything in detail. It was practically a divine tool for surgery.

And if all of that were then carried out by a robot that already possessed medical knowledge and one hundred percent execution accuracy, it would be even more astonishing and flawless.

"Of course, win-win cooperation isn't a problem. In fact, whether in our company's internal culture or our public statements, what I've always emphasized is benefiting society, giving back to the public, and bringing people a better life."

"And naturally, none of that can happen without the joint support of all of you and the companies behind you. But I think we still need to study some of the methods and details of our cooperation."

At that moment, Killian spoke as well.

"Of course. This is the draft agreement jointly prepared by our companies, Mr. Killian. You can take a look first."

"A lot of the content is still rough, so we can discuss it at any time."

After hearing Killian's response, Laszlo and the other presidents all let out a quiet breath of relief. Then Laszlo took out a draft cooperation agreement and handed it to Killian.

It could be said that they had made thorough preparations for this cooperation.

Right now, the situation clearly favored the stronger side. Pioneer Technology had already forcefully entered and dominated the equipment side of the field. Although they could still survive for a time by relying on the devices they had already sold and continue operating on the pharmaceutical side, Pioneer Technology's latest launch event had frightened them all.

They were afraid that if this dragged on any longer, Pioneer Technology might really move into pharmaceuticals too and come out with miracle drugs or something even more outrageous.

Ordinarily, for a company to go from nothing to successfully researching new drugs, it would take years, sometimes decades.

But for a company that had already created robots, smartphones generations ahead of the market, next-generation network technology, and virtual projection that most people had barely even heard of before, what exactly was still impossible?

So the executives of the remaining companies that had never directly clashed with Killian gathered almost immediately, trying to find a way to board the giant carrier that was Pioneer Technology before it sailed too far ahead.

For this, each company had even prepared thirty billion dollars, while Laszlo, as the initiator, was contributing fifty billion, for a total of two hundred billion dollars to seek cooperation with Pioneer Technology.

And this was real cash flow.

No matter where they chose to invest it, countless money-making projects would be desperate to receive it. Yet now, they were the ones rushing over with this massive fortune, practically begging Killian to let them invest.

And there was even a chance he might refuse.

If people heard about it, it would sound almost ridiculous. They were trying to throw money at someone, and that person might still say no.

"Mm. Very sincere. I'd say you're far better than Alex and that bunch of idiots."

After reading the entire agreement, which was only two pages of simple text, Killian nodded, smiled at them, and then changed tone.

"But if the two hundred billion is being used to establish a new Pioneer Pharmaceuticals company, then asking for forty-nine percent of the shares is a little too much."

"Mr. Killian, this isn't two hundred billion dollars in fixed assets. This is cash flow. Even for companies like ours, gathering that much cash all at once is extremely difficult. I think our sincerity is already more than obvious."

"And we also have no intention of trying to control the new company. After all, even with forty-nine percent, once it's divided among the six of us, each of us would only hold around eight percent. That isn't enough to do much of anything. We just want some assurance."

After hearing that Killian had a problem with the share distribution in their proposal, Laszlo immediately spoke up.

After all, exchanging two hundred billion dollars for forty-nine percent of a newly established company was already an enormous concession. Pfizer's market value itself was only around that level now.

If the six of them truly joined forces, they could practically buy out a company like that outright.

And yet Killian was still saying they were asking for too much.

"Believe me, with a market gap as large as the pharmaceutical industry, you don't seriously think I'm only interested in medical devices, do you?"

"Do you know that even a single small or medium-sized country has a pharmaceutical market worth hundreds of billions? And that's not even mentioning the East, India, the Soviet Union, the United States, Indonesia, and dozens of other heavily populated countries. Every single one of them has a trillion-dollar market waiting to be developed."

"And as a company, do you think I would give that up?"

"Since you came to me on your own initiative, I'll let you in on a little information in advance. The new drug has already succeeded, and its effects will absolutely exceed your expectations."

"When the time comes, the overwhelming majority of the world's diseases will be helpless in front of it. So now I'll give you an opportunity. Two hundred billion dollars for fifteen percent of the shares. How you divide that among yourselves is up to you."

"Whether you cooperate or keep things the way they are now, I don't care. Just don't be like those idiots and jump out to cause trouble."

When Laszlo looked like he still wanted to explain himself, Killian stood up directly and spoke to them with absolute confidence.

That was right. The T-0 drug had already been fully developed. It was now in the final stage of review. With Kennedy's influence and the military pushing things along behind the scenes, everything was being accelerated. As soon as it passed the final FDA clinical trials, it could officially hit the market, and when that happened, Pioneer Technology would rise once again.

As for the people in front of him who had come seeking cooperation, Killian had only chosen to give them a chance because the agreement they brought did show real compromise and meaningful concessions.

Otherwise, forget fifteen percent. He would not even have offered eight. They could take it or leave it.

As Killian's words fell, everyone present wore difficult expressions. Their faces all carried that same miserable look of something tasteless to keep and a pity to throw away.

On one hand, they felt that if they failed to board Pioneer Technology's massive ship this time and rejected the deal, then after this dispute, the other side might never work with them again.

On the other hand, they also felt that two hundred billion dollars for only fifteen percent was such a bad deal it hurt just thinking about it.

For a moment, as their gazes met one another across the room, they all felt a headache coming on.

"I'll wait in the office next door. Once you've finished discussing it, you can have the secretary outside call me."

Seeing that it was hard for them to openly discuss things while he was still there, Killian stood up directly. After saying that, he walked out of the room.

And only after Killian had left did Laszlo and the other presidents finally begin discussing things one after another.

"Laszlo, what do we do now?"

"From the way he's acting, it's obvious he's got us cornered."

"What choice do we have? Technology is everything. When the technology is in someone else's hands, whether they want to choke you or not is just a matter of a single sentence."
