Niloufer tried with all her might to move her feet, but terror had frozen her limbs; she felt as if the ground were swallowing her, unable to take a single step back. At that moment, the "Shadow" swung its massive hand toward her in a violent strike, but it missed her trembling body by only a few inches.
Niloufer began to run aimlessly, the Shadow chasing her with its terrifying voice that shook the cave walls, screaming: "You… You are the source of the noise here!" The screaming put a horrific pressure on her ears, so she covered them with her hands, closing her eyes in intense pain. The Shadow aimed a second blow at her, and at that moment, Niloufer felt as if time had stopped; she saw the Shadow's hand approaching her like an inevitable fate, surrendering to death as she remembered the first moment she saw "The Professor."
But, when she opened her eyes, she did not find death… she found Alex! Alex was standing in front of her, taking the fatal blow in her place. He shouted at her in a strained, broken voice: "What are you doing? Don't just stand there… run!" She looked at him in shock and disbelief: "Why? Why did you do this?" Alex smiled a faint smile mixed with blood and said: "It was a beautiful journey with you…" Then his heavy body collapsed to the ground as he whispered to himself: "If only we had met in better circumstances… I might have loved her."
Niloufer reached the center of the cave where she saw an old, parked carriage. She stopped in a state of total loss: "Should I go? How can I leave behind someone who sacrificed his life for me? But if I go back… I will surely die." While Niloufer was drowning in her conflict, the Shadow was slowly approaching Alex's fallen body, continuing its hysterical screaming: "Noise… Noise!"
Suddenly, the sound of stones striking echoed from a distance. The Shadow turned toward the source of the sound and vanished into the darkness to investigate. Niloufer seized the opportunity and ran toward Alex, trying to lift him while crying. He asked her weakly: "Why did you come back?" She answered while trying to drag him: "Try to hold on, we must get out of here!" Alex replied in despair: "Go and leave me… anyway, if I don't drink blood now, I will die in the human world."
Niloufer froze and looked at him in horror: "Blood? What blood do you mean?" At that moment, the Shadow's hand appeared again from a distance, approaching them rapidly. Alex pushed Niloufer with all his remaining strength: "Go, you foolish human! Leave!"
Niloufer's eyes fell on her broken mirror lying on the ground. She picked it up without hesitation and slashed her hands deeply with it, then placed her bleeding wounds directly over Alex's mouth, screaming: "Here is the blood! Now wake up and do something!"
In that instant, something terrifying happened. Alex's eyes snapped wide open, and his form began to change in a horrific way; the whites of his eyes turned into a pitch-black void, and his body convulsed with a power that did not belong to a human. The "Shadow" sensed a looming danger radiating from Alex, and for the first time, the terrifying entity felt fear and fled into the depths of the cave.
Niloufer stood there trembling, watching the fleeing Shadow then turning to Alex, who was standing behind her like a black wraith. Alex wiped the remaining blood from his mouth with his hand, looking at Niloufer with eyes that knew no mercy, and said in a deep, bone-chilling voice:
"I want more…"
