Synopsis
In the neon city of Aetherion, power isn’t given — it’s controlled. Aetherflow, a volatile energy woven into the world itself, fuels everything from advanced technology to deadly weapons. Most people need specialized suits just to survive using it. Elowen isn’t most people. When a mysterious relic reacts to her, she’s revealed to be something rare — one in ten thousand. Someone who can touch Aetherflow without protection… and not die. But power like that doesn’t stay hidden. After a violent surge tears through the city, turning the streets into chaos, Elowen is forced into a world she barely understands — where relics aren’t just tools, but signals… and something out there is listening. Guided by Kael, a street-smart survivor with secrets of his own, she begins to uncover the truth behind Aetherflow. What it really is. Where it came from. And why it’s starting to respond to her. Because the energy isn’t just unstable anymore. It’s waking up. And Elowen? She might be the reason why.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – Veilwood Awakens

I had always been drawn to the outskirts of civilization, where the hum of machines gave way to whispers of the old world. Veilwood stretched ahead, ancient trees towering like silent sentinels, roots twisting across the mossy ground as if holding secrets beneath the surface.

My gloves vibrated faintly, a subtle reminder that Aetherflow was alive here. Most people couldn't sense it, but my suit translated the invisible currents into motion I could see and feel. Sparks ran along my fingers whenever I moved, arcs of faint blue energy mapping the flow of the forest around me.

I crouched, stepping lightly over a tangle of roots. Slow. Careful. Every step mattered. A gust of wind sent leaves swirling, revealing glyph-like patterns on the trunks, subtle and fleeting. Something—or someone—had been here before me.

Then, instinct screamed: fast, sharp, a jolt of awareness. I froze. The air shifted. Moss trembled slightly underfoot, roots twitching as if the forest itself had noticed my hesitation.

A sudden shimmer caught my eye. Tiny arcs of Aetherflow danced along a fallen branch, revealing a faint trail of light leading deeper into the woods. I followed it. Slow, deliberate. Every step brought more sparks of energy to life, faint patterns on the ground guiding me, testing me.

Deeper in Veilwood, I glimpsed the first relic: a small, unassuming stone pulsing faintly beneath a tangle of roots. My gloves hummed louder, resonating with its subtle energy. Most people wouldn't even notice it—but I could feel the pulse of ancient power, the remnants of civilizations long gone.

I reached out, brushing the moss aside. Sparks traced my fingers, mapping the glyphs etched across the relic. The symbols twisted faintly in response, reacting to my touch. Slow. Focused. The forest leaned in, listening.

Then—a whisper of movement in the underbrush. Fast. A shadow flickered between the trees. My breath caught. Adrenaline spiked. This forest was alive in ways I had only begun to understand.

I didn't know it yet, but someone—or something—was watching. And the relics of Veilwood were waking.
