Chapter 1 - Chapter:1 The End for a New Beginning

Sovereign of Heaven and Earth… Heavenly Doctor… Master of Poisons… a being whose hands could grant life or take it away. Titles, accolades, even the reverence of mortals, none of it mattered to her anymore. She had long since learned that power and recognition were hollow when bound by laws meant to restrain even the strongest.

A life without freedom constrained by rules written by gods who had long forgotten justice, and by cultivators waging endless wars against demons, leaving rivers of chaos and despair in their wake. And yet, those same gods, unable to stand alone, formed corrupt alliances, conspiring against her, against her reign, against the very essence of her existence.

At her side, a dagger shimmered with a thousand ever-shifting colours, humming with a divine energy that felt alive. It was not merely a weapon; it was a declaration. Each pulse of its radiance echoed the power of countless gods, concentrated, refined, and bound to her will. It marked the end of an era… and the undying spark of what was yet to come.

She had always known her reign would one day end. From the moment of her ascension, she had felt the shadow of inevitability looming behind her. Every victory, every conquest, every fleeting triumph carried a silent warning. She had known… yet power alone could not change fate. She could only endure it.

"I hope you become a worthy leader," she murmured, her voice soft yet heavy with centuries of experience, sorrow, and resolve.

Her gaze settled on Huang Bo, the God of Destruction, her fiancé, her closest companion… and now, her greatest obstacle. His eyes were clouded with conflict, his expression haunted by forces beyond his control. Memories of laughter beneath the stars, whispered promises, fleeting touches, all of it flickered through her mind, bittersweet and fragile. And now, he stood before her, torn between loyalty and manipulation, ensnared in the designs of others.

"Today, Xue Yanchen… your reign ends," he said, his voice calm, yet burdened with finality.

Each word pressed against her chest like a weight she had long anticipated. Horror flickered in his eyes, but beneath it lay the resolve of a god forced to act against the one he once loved.

"Hah." A sharp, bitter smile curved her lips. "So… you finally reveal your true self, Huang Bo. But do not mistake my patience for weakness. The day I return, I will kill every single one of you, and I will overcome every obstacle in my path. One by one. I swear it… by the Sacred Celestial Law. Let all who witness this remember my vow."

He moved with deliberate precision, a storm contained within mortal form. Energy radiated from him, bending the air with oppressive force. She felt the surge before it struck, a violent tide meant to shatter her.

Pain tore through her, sharp and relentless, forcing her back. Yet even as her body faltered, her will did not.

I was foolish… yet I have no regrets.

The world seemed to hold its breath.

The gods bowed, their voices unified, yet laced with fear. "Long live the new Sovereign of Heaven and Earth," they intoned, acknowledging the shift in balance even as they trembled before it.

Huang Bo's eyes burned with conflicting emotions, fear, regret, and doubt. His voice dropped to a whisper, nearly drowned by the hum of power.

"No… impossible…"

The weapon, it had been forged by all the gods. Her power should have faded. And yet… she had sworn it by the Celestial Law.

Around her, the weight of a thousand memories pressed inward. Every betrayal, every loyalty, every fleeting moment of joy, everything converged into this single instant. The air crackled with tension, a silent testament to the clash of pride, destiny, and unyielding will.

Huang Bo lifted his gaze to the heavens, fists clenched so tightly his knuckles whitened. Determination burned within him, but so did regret.

"Xue… one day… will you forgive me?"

She did not answer.

There was no space for mercy. No room for reconciliation. Only a world trembling on the brink of chaos, and the unbroken will of a goddess whose time had come to pass.

Her eyes, faintly glowing with the remnants of her power, met his one last time. No words were needed. In that silent exchange lay centuries of history, the sorrow of love betrayed, the resolve of a warrior, the weight of an ending.

And within that silence… she felt it.

The end of an era.

And the first breath of another yet to come.

As the gods whispered among themselves, casting wary glances, her form began to fade, until nothing remained but the echo of her presence.

Huang Bo stood alone, fists clenched, gaze fixed upon the sky, torn between admiration, fear, and the unbearable weight of her vow.

Deep within, he understood the truth:

Though her reign had ended… her influence had not.

And one day...

He would meet her again.
