Screeeee!!
A sharp piercing sound, which spread for miles through the whole school, echoed from the bird as it ascended into the air.
The wind howled as it flapped its wings, and on the other side, Kael's gaze fixed on the fiery construct.
His sword moved to release a slash at the beast, but he sensed danger, looking down to see Hulio make a slash at him, an arc of fire shooting out towards him.
"Hmm."
With a flap of his wings, Kael took to the sky, choosing to avoid the attack, and then he made his way to the flaming bird.
Below, Hulio immediately got into a sprint, the flow of essence in him slowing as he heavily increased the volume being carried by his powerlines and concentrated it in his core.
He kept his gaze up and, after a few steps, bent his knees, tightened his core, and released with a jump.
Boom!!
The ground below cracked, a small crater being left in it as Hulio shot into the sky, rocketing through the air, the wind rushing past him.
Hulio's trajectory had Kael well in his path, but before he reached him, the man looked down.
A small frown spread on Kael's lips and immediately, he swung his sword down, his blade glowing with intensity, a blue arc of energy which stretched for more than 10 meters being let out.
This!!
From the slash, Hulio could feel a domineering energy, the concentration of power in the attack pressing down on him.
He contracted the pressure around him, his intent becoming sharper, and then he thrust out with his spear.
For a second, it was quiet in the skies, then an explosion rocketed outward.
The wind broke as energy chaotically erupted, blasting apart and spreading out in a circle.
The sky became filled with columns of smoke, and below the chaos, Hulio's body fell.
"Wish I could fly," he couldn't help but whisper to himself.
Looking up, spotting Kael's figure moving once more towards the bird, Hulio closed his eyes, taking in deep breaths, smoothing the flow of energy in him, feeding his mind with essence.
Normally, Hulio's body was the origin of his intent, his body acting like a spear, but suddenly the pressure which had always surrounded his being disappeared.
Every trace of intent vanished from Hulio's being, appearing instead in the spear in his hand, and the weapon vibrated with vigour as a menacing pressure began oozing from its length.
The intensity of the vibration rapidly increased, thrumming the air around it, a loud hum sounding in the air.
While the muscles in his arms bulged, the limbs straining to keep the weapon in his grip, Hulio compressed the pressure it was letting out around it.
Falling, his eyes still closed, he did his best to conceal the danger in his arm, waiting till a powerful screech tore through the air.
Opening his eyes, Hulio's gaze was greeted by the sight of a devastating arc of energy splitting the fiery bird in half.
The two halves of the fiery construct separated without putting up a fight, but then, rather than dispersing, they exploded into over 1000 balls of fire.
In an instant, the sky became filled with balls of fire, red shooting in every direction, blanketing the sky.
Watching from below, it was like an apocalypse had come, a heavy heat descending, and with fire reflecting in his gaze, he launched his spear.
Leaving Hulio's grip, the spear sliced into the air, no sound leaving its frame, the hum it had been releasing disappearing.
A second after he launched the spear, the pressure which had disappeared from Hulio bloomed once more, and with a flip, he landed on the ground, falling to one knee.
Boooom!!
Arrrhhh!!
Before Hulio could stand, the sky above shattered with an explosion, fire blooming like a flower in the sky, and when he stood looking up, a furious scream exploded.
"That seems to have worked too well."
