Chapter 15
The mountains were silent again.
But this silence was different.
It was not peaceful.
It was the silence that comes before a storm.
Far away from the ruins of the ancient temple, deep inside a dark valley surrounded by sharp black cliffs, a shadow moved through the darkness.
Victor walked slowly across the rocky ground.
The cold wind blew across his cloak, but his expression remained calm.
His eyes glowed faintly with dark energy.
He stopped near the entrance of a massive cave hidden between the cliffs.
The cave looked ancient.
Strange symbols were carved into the stone walls around its entrance.
Victor looked at those symbols carefully.
Then he smiled.
"So… it still exists."
He stepped inside.
The cave was enormous.
Long tunnels stretched deep into the mountain.
Dim purple crystals glowed faintly on the walls, casting an eerie light across the stone floor.
Victor walked deeper and deeper until he finally reached a massive underground chamber.
At the center of the chamber stood something terrifying.
Hundreds of stone statues.
Each statue looked like a warrior.
Some carried swords.
Some carried spears.
Some had armor carved from dark stone.
They stood in perfect rows.
Like an army frozen in time.
Victor looked at them with satisfaction.
"The Dark Army of the ancient world…"
He slowly walked between the statues.
"These warriors once served the Shadow King."
Victor placed his hand on one of the statues.
"But today… they will serve me."
Dark energy slowly began flowing from Victor's hand.
The black energy spread across the statue like living smoke.
For a moment nothing happened.
Then—
CRACK.
A small crack appeared in the stone.
Victor's smile grew wider.
The crack spread across the statue's entire body.
The stone surface slowly began to break.
And then suddenly—
The statue's eyes opened.
Two glowing red lights appeared inside its stone face.
The warrior moved.
Its stone armor shifted as it stepped forward.
Victor looked into its eyes.
"Kneel."
Without hesitation, the stone warrior dropped to one knee.
Victor laughed quietly.
"It works."
He raised both hands.
Dark energy exploded outward like a wave.
The entire chamber filled with black mist.
The dark power spread across every statue in the room.
One by one…
Cracks began appearing.
Stone broke.
Eyes lit up.
Weapons moved.
Hundreds of ancient warriors awakened from their stone prison.
The ground trembled as they stepped forward together.
An army that had slept for centuries was alive again.
Victor stood in the center of the chamber like a king among soldiers.
"This world will finally understand power."
One of the warriors stepped forward.
Unlike the others, this one was much larger.
Its armor was covered in ancient runes.
It carried a massive sword almost as tall as a human.
Victor looked at it carefully.
"So you must be the commander."
The warrior spoke with a deep, echoing voice.
"Who awakens the army of shadows?"
Victor did not show fear.
Instead he smiled confidently.
"I am Victor."
The warrior stared at him.
"Why have you awakened us?"
Victor's eyes darkened.
"To conquer."
The chamber fell silent.
Victor continued.
"There are two people who now hold the power of the ancient temple."
The warrior asked,
"Are they your enemies?"
Victor nodded.
"Yes."
The commander slowly raised his sword.
"If they possess sacred power… they must be destroyed."
Victor smiled.
"That's exactly what I was thinking."
The army of stone warriors stood silently behind them.
Victor walked toward the edge of the chamber.
"Prepare the army."
He looked back at the commander.
"Because soon…"
His voice became colder.
"…we march to war."
Meanwhile…
Miles away from the dark valley…
Ran and Mariya had built a small camp near the mountain forest.
A fire burned quietly between them.
The night air was cold.
Mariya sat on a rock, staring at the glowing crystal fragment in her hand.
"Ran…"
Ran looked up.
"Yes?"
"Do you think Victor survived the temple collapse?"
Ran stared into the fire for a moment.
"I don't think someone like him dies so easily."
Mariya sighed.
"I had the same feeling."
Suddenly Ran stood up.
His body had sensed something.
"What is it?" Mariya asked.
Ran looked toward the distant mountains.
"I don't know… but something feels wrong."
A strange pressure filled the air.
Like a dark energy slowly spreading across the land.
Mariya also stood up.
"I feel it too."
The crystal fragment in her hand suddenly began glowing.
A warning.
Ran tightened his grip on his sword.
"We need to be ready."
Mariya nodded.
"For what?"
Ran looked into the darkness beyond the trees.
"For war."
Far away in the dark valley…
Victor stood at the top of the cliff.
Below him, hundreds of shadow warriors marched together.
The ground shook beneath their steps.
The commander raised his massive sword.
"THE ARMY OF SHADOWS MARCHES!"
Victor smiled as he watched them.
The war had begun.
And soon…
Ran and Mariya would face an enemy far greater than they had ever imagined.
The First Battle
The cold wind moved through the silent forest.
Night had covered the mountains completely. The moon hung high in the sky, casting pale silver light across the rocky ground.
Ran stood near the edge of the forest, looking toward the distant mountains.
Something felt wrong.
The air itself felt heavy.
Mariya walked toward him slowly.
"Ran… are you still feeling that strange energy?"
Ran nodded.
"Yes."
He tightened his grip on his glowing sword.
"It's getting closer."
Suddenly the crystal fragment in Mariya's hand began to shine brighter.
A warning.
Mariya looked worried.
"The temple's power is reacting."
Ran's eyes became serious.
"That means Victor is near."
For a moment everything became silent.
Then suddenly—
THUD.
THUD.
THUD.
The ground began shaking.
Ran and Mariya both looked toward the mountain valley.
Dark shapes were moving in the distance.
Hundreds of them.
Mariya whispered in shock.
"Ran… that's not just Victor."
Ran's voice became cold.
"It's an army."
Slowly the figures emerged from the darkness.
Stone warriors.
Their armor was black.
Their eyes glowed red like burning coals.
Each one carried ancient weapons.
Swords.
Spears.
Axes.
They marched in perfect formation.
At the front of the army stood a massive warrior with a giant sword.
The commander.
Behind him, standing on a rocky cliff, was Victor.
Victor raised his hand.
His voice echoed across the valley.
"Ran! Mariya!"
Ran stepped forward.
"You're still alive."
Victor smiled.
"Of course."
His eyes burned with dark power.
"You really thought the temple could kill me?"
Mariya stepped beside Ran.
"What do you want?"
Victor laughed.
"Simple."
He pointed at them.
"The power of the temple."
Ran lifted his sword.
"You'll never get it."
Victor's smile disappeared.
"Then you will die."
He raised his hand.
The commander of the shadow army lifted his massive sword.
"ATTACK!"
The army charged.
The ground trembled under hundreds of warriors rushing forward.
Ran turned to Mariya.
"Stay close."
Mariya nodded.
Blue energy began forming around her hands.
The first warrior reached Ran.
Its stone sword came down with incredible force.
CLANG!
Ran blocked the attack.
The impact pushed him back.
"Strong…" Ran muttered.
He swung his glowing sword.
Blue energy cut through the warrior's chest.
The stone body shattered into pieces.
But more warriors rushed forward.
Mariya raised her hands.
A circle of blue light appeared around her.
She pushed her palms forward.
A powerful wave of energy blasted outward.
BOOM!
Several shadow warriors were thrown back and destroyed.
Victor watched from the cliff.
"Interesting…"
But the army kept coming.
More.
And more.
Ran fought fiercely.
His sword moved like lightning.
Each strike destroyed another warrior.
But there were too many.
Suddenly the giant commander stepped forward.
The ground cracked under his weight.
Ran looked up.
"This one is different."
The commander swung his massive sword.
Ran barely dodged.
The blade smashed into the ground with terrifying power.
BOOM!
Rocks exploded everywhere.
Mariya quickly attacked with energy blasts.
But the commander blocked them with his armored arm.
Victor laughed from above.
"Do you see now?"
"You cannot defeat an army."
Ran wiped blood from his lip.
Then he smiled slightly.
"You're wrong."
He looked at Mariya.
"Ready?"
Mariya nodded.
Both of them focused their energy.
Blue light exploded around them.
The power of the ancient temple awakened fully.
The battlefield filled with brilliant light.
Victor's smile slowly faded.
"This… power…"
Ran raised his sword.
The blade burned like a star.
"Let's end this."
The real battle had just begun.
