Seraphina spread the maps across the table. Maps of the Dead Lands. Reports from the failed assault. Photographs of the temple ruins where Kai Blackthorn had built his sanctuary. She'd spent three days gathering intelligence. Three days obsessing over every detail.
Her elite unit stood around the table in silence. Eight of the best warriors in Frostmoon Pack. Wolves she'd trained personally. Wolves who were loyal to her, not to the pack.
At least, she'd thought they were.
"We're going to kill her," Seraphina said quietly.
Nobody moved. Nobody spoke. They just stared at the maps like maybe if they didn't acknowledge what she'd said, it wouldn't be real.
"Magnus wants Ivy alive," Seraphina continued. "He wants her bloodline. He wants to study her and breed her and use her for his empire." She looked up at her unit. "We're going to make sure she doesn't survive the capture."
