Chapter 109 Luffy and CP9 Raid Enies LobbyIceberg's lips twitched, a pained expression on his face: "Are you serious?"
Luffy gave him a strange look: "Do I look like I'm joking?"
Then, Luffy put his left arm around Robin, grabbed Kalifa with his right, and strode away.
Watching Luffy's departing figure, Iceberg remained silent for a long time.
"Monkey D. Luffy... he's truly an unfathomable monster."
Only then did Barry and the other three foremen recover from their shock.
"Mr. Iceberg, Lucci and the others..."
"Keep everything that just happened a secret!"
Iceberg shouted sharply, his eyes piercing: "If you want to live!"
The three foremen nodded vigorously, still shaken.
...
At the hospital entrance, Zoro and the others had been waiting for a long time.
"Too slow." Zoro, holding his sword, rolled his eyes impatiently.
Nami's eyes widened, and she shrieked, pointing at Kalifa in Luffy's arms, "What's going on?!"
Luffy quickly released her to prove his innocence: "Ahem, that's our newly hired... secretary."
Kalifa instinctively pushed up her glasses: "That's sexual harassment."
Nami's face instantly contorted into a shark-like expression.
On the way to the sea train, Luffy succinctly recounted Robin's ordeal.
After listening, everyone looked at Robin with sympathy.
"That CP9 is inhuman! They even prey on an eight-year-old girl!"
Nami angrily waved her fist, her face flushed.
Usopp and Vivi nodded repeatedly, filled with righteous indignation.
Only Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji remained calm.
In this dog-eat-dog world, weakness itself is a cardinal sin.
"In short, to achieve true freedom, you need the power to overturn the table."
Luffy donned the Marine Justice Cloak Zoro handed him and charged towards the station.
...
Enies Lobby, in the officer's office.
Spandam sat with his legs crossed, a coffee in his hand, answering Bruno's call.
"Hello? Did you catch Nico Robin?"
"Sorry, sir. I unexpectedly ran into one of her Marine comrades. To avoid exposing Lucci's infiltration plan, I had to retreat."
"Huh?! Useless! Can't even catch a woman!"
Spandam jumped up in anger, spilling coffee all over himself.
"Forget it," he wiped his pants, then became smug again, "Just got news from Kalifa, Iceberg's all sorted out, and the Pluton blueprints are in hand!"
"That woman's useless now. Compared to the ethereal Ancient Weapon, the mass-producible Pluton blueprints are much more practical!"
"Hahaha! With this, I can rise through the ranks and join CP0! Even the Fleet Admiral will have to defer to me!"
Just then, the door opened, and Bruno walked in holding a Den Den Mushi.
Spandam: "…"
"What the hell are you doing making a phone call after you got back?!"
"Sir, something's wrong. After Robin escaped, Lucci's been out of contact."
Bruno reported expressionlessly.
Spandam looked at him disdainfully: "You're a coward! The key to destroying the world is now heading my way! I can already see a bright future!"
Bruno watched his officer descend into madness and silently fell silent.
...
The sea train sped across the turbulent ocean, its roar deafening.
Inside the carriage, Luffy sat imposingly at the head of the table.
Behind him, Kalifa trembled. She knew better than anyone that the corpses sitting opposite her were no longer her former comrades.
Zoro and the others pressed against the windows, gazing in astonishment at the scenery outside.
Even Luffy couldn't help but marvel, "No wonder he's the man who built the Pirate King's ship. To be able to lay a railway in such treacherous sea conditions, he's really something."
Two hours later, the iconic outline of Enies Lobby came into view.
[Announcement: Enies Lobby is approaching. Passengers, please prepare to disembark...]
Luffy slowly rose, the word "Justice" on his back fluttering in the wind.
"A court that acts solely on the will of the World Government?"
A cruel smile curled at the corner of Luffy's lips.
"Looks like this place has no reason to exist anymore."
He flipped his palm, and a golden Den Den Mushi appeared out of thin air.
It was a signal of destruction—the Buster Call authorization!
The train had just come to a stop when the doors opened.
"Lord Lucci! Long time undercover, thank you for your hard work!"
Two rows of CP5 officials stood tall and proud, welcoming him.
A short official, his face full of obsequiousness, offered Lucci a leather coat.
Luffy didn't even bother to glance at these rabble, heading straight for the central Enies Hall.
Zoro and the others followed closely behind, their auras radiating power.
"As expected of CP9, the pressure is immense!"
"Is that Vice Admiral Luffy? I heard he took down Crocodile!"
"Major Nami and Princess Vivi are so beautiful…wait, isn't that the Devil Child?"
The surrounding agents whispered amongst themselves, completely unaware that death was approaching.
Two giant guards rumbled open the massive main gate.
A solitary island, suspended above a waterfall, appeared before them.
"This is Enies Lobby?" Chopper's jaw nearly dropped.
Meanwhile, deep within the hall.
Spandam, with the remaining three CP9 members, awaited their "victory celebration."
"Lucci and the others are here! With the present I wanted most!"
Spandam, gripping his elephant sword excitedly, turned and roared at the three behind him:
"Today is supposed to be a big CP9 reunion! Look at what the newspapers say! 23 people died on the assassination mission? Were you going to assassinate someone or massacre a village?!"
Jabra hurriedly explained, "It was going well until the plan was leaked, so we had to retaliate."
The owl beside him unzipped its beak: "Boo-hoo, because I accidentally let the plan slip on the street."
Jabra angrily grabbed the owl's chubby face and shook it violently: "It's you again, you big mouth! Why don't you just die?!"
Just then, a loud "bang!" echoed as the door was kicked open.
"That's an easy habit to correct. Dead men tell no tales."
A flippant voice came from behind.
Luffy, hands in his pockets, strolled in leisurely.
"Oh my gosh—"
Sanji spotted Bruno sitting on the sofa at a glance, and his eyes instantly sharpened.
"That guy with the horned mask! That's him!"
Sanji, who had already awakened his Observation Haki, instantly locked onto his target.
"Ah, don't get so worked up."
Spandam waved his hand without any apology: "We're all working for the Celestial Dragons, don't make a fuss about arresting the wrong person."
Then he looked at Lucci behind Luffy and shouted:
"Hey! What are you standing there for? Where are the blueprints! Give them to me right now!"
Lucci walked forward expressionlessly.
"Come on, give them to me!" Spandam rubbed his hands together, his face full of greed.
Jabra, slumped on the sofa beside him, complained irritably: "Hey, Lucci, haven't seen you in so long, didn't even say hello?"
Lucci turned his head and gave him a cold glance.
He raised his hand, pointing his gun.
"Thud!"
The attack was swift, accurate, and ruthless, striking Jabra squarely between the eyebrows.
Jabra didn't even have time to scream before he died instantly.
Bruno, Owl, and Spandam all froze, their minds blank.
"Hey! Lucci! Are you crazy?!"
Spandam screamed in terror.
The response was a merciless, heavy kick from Lucci.
"Boom!"
Spandam was kicked into the wall like a ball, his ribs broken in countless places, coughing up blood.
"Damn Lucci! You dare attack your superior! I'm telling my dad! I'll make sure you die a horrible death!"
Owl was also dumbfounded: "Lucci, what's wrong with you? Chirp chirp chirp?"
At this moment, Kaku and Kuchiki also came up, forming a triangle around the remaining two.
"Clap, clap, clap."
Clear clapping rang out.
Luffy smiled and walked up to Lucci, crouching down to look at the disheveled Spandam.
"How was it? Was the show I orchestrated exciting?"
"CP9 members, driven by greed for the Ancient Weapons, rebelled and attacked a Vice Admiral and his superior."
"Commander Spandam heroically sacrificed himself, Vice Admiral Luffy turned the tide, launched the Buster Call, and ultimately annihilated the traitors before the gates of justice!"
Luffy grinned like a devil: "What a perfect script, isn't it? Poor Commander Spandam?"
Spandam trembled, his eyes filled with terror: "It was you?! You manipulated them!"
Kalifa finally broke down, collapsing to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably: "Lucci and the others... they're already dead!"
The ensuing battle was a foregone conclusion.
Sanji and Zoro easily dealt with Bruno and the owl.
Spandam looked at Luffy in despair: "You can't kill me! I'm Spandam's son! I have connections in the government!"
"Hey, you can't just say whatever you want."
Luffy corrected him seriously: "It was your subordinate Lucci who killed you, what does it have to do with me, Luffy?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Lucci's body swelled up, transforming into a bloodthirsty leopard-man.
With a swift swipe of his claws, he pierced Spandam's heart.
This superior, who only knew how to rely on his father's connections, died without even leaving a last word.
Luffy turned to Usopp: "Did you record everything?"
Usopp gave a thumbs up: "Don't worry, the Skypiea recordings are top-notch!"
After dealing with the minions, Luffy walked to Bruno's body in the ruins.
"The Door-Door Fruit... truly a divine skill, too bad it followed the wrong master."
Luffy showed no mercy, a black rod piercing his heart.
"I told you, only the dead can truly keep secrets."
Then, he pressed the button on his golden Den Den Mushi.
"Who am I? I'm the Grim Reaper sent to hell!"
...
"Who goes there! How dare you trespass on Enies Lobby!"
A group of guards riding huskies and wielding dual swords blocked his path.
This was Enies Lobby's proud "Hound Team."
Luffy snapped his fingers, and the Six Paths of Pain, like tigers among sheep, instantly unleashed a bloodbath.
Luffy showed some mercy to the Marine soldiers, merely knocking them unconscious.
But for the CP agents who aided and abetted the evil, it was a one-sided massacre.
The entire Enies Lobby descended into chaos.
Years of peace had rendered the guards here utterly ineffective; against a force of Pain's caliber, they were nothing more than easy prey.
Looking at the carnage below, Vivi turned her head away, a pang of pity in her eyes.
"Is this really alright?"
She asked softly, "Those ordinary soldiers didn't provoke us, did they?"
Luffy stood high above, coldly surveying the scene, his voice chillingly calm.
"Vivi, remember this."
"When an avalanche occurs, no snowflake is innocent."
"Since you've chosen to wear this uniform and serve this corrupt government, you must be prepared to become expendable resources at any moment."
Luffy leaned against the massive floor-to-ceiling window, his gaze fixed on the distance, his tone utterly emotionless.
"You must always remember that we wear the Navy uniform, bearing the weight of absolute justice.
The World Government today is like a towering tree rotting from its roots, riddled with holes within."
If we want to achieve true peace on this sea, bloodshed and sacrifice are the unavoidable price to pay.
