Chapter 135 - 135

Chapter 135 The Bear Out of Control! The Crisis of Forced TakeoverWhat was initially thought to be a useless, mediocre skill turned out to be incredibly useful in this world where the technology tree was skewed.

By this time, Zoro, having regained his senses, had already drawn three swords, his expression grave as he prepared for battle.

Luffy waved his hand: "Alright, it's done."

The murderous red light in the Pacifista's eyes instantly vanished, and it walked stiffly to Luffy, standing motionless like a waiting guard.

"What exactly is that thing?"

Zoro curiously tapped the Pacifista's arm with the back of his sword, producing a crisp metallic clang. "A robot?"

Luffy nodded. "The war weapon developed by the Navy's science unit is clearly intended for combat testing."

Then his eyes narrowed slightly. "A kill order from the World Government? No, this method seems more like something those idiots from the Celestial Dragons would do."

Luffy hacked into the system and immediately figured out the reason.

Someone had tampered with the underlying commands, creating the illusion of a system malfunction to try and kill him. After all, it was an experimental subject; some "accidents" were perfectly normal.

Unfortunately, these people severely underestimated Luffy's strength. Even if Kizaru himself came, let alone this knock-off laser, as long as he wasn't careless, he could put up a fight.

"But this laser technology is really something," Luffy said, stroking his chin as he stared at the laser emitter. "I'll send this technology to Skypiea later, let Enel and C.C. study it, and modify those little robots on the moon. It'll be perfect. Getting it to Skypiea will be a little difficult though."

After all, the Moon Dwarfs are powered by electricity, so modifying them into laser weapons is a perfect match.

"Luffy!"

Sanji's voice came from afar, "What happened? That explosion over here was terrifying!"

"Yo, you're back pretty fast. Camie's gone?" Luffy greeted him with a smile.

"Of course, Camie and that silly starfish are safely back in the sea. What happened? Why were they suddenly sent away?" Sanji lit a cigarette and asked疑惑地问道.

"Because a real big shot landed," Luffy chuckled, turning to look behind him, "Am I right, Uncle Kizaru?"

"How terrifying~ No wonder he's the grandson of the legendary Vice Admiral Garp, he can even tame a rampaging Pacifista in an instant."

A sarcastic voice suddenly rang out behind them.

Everyone turned around in shock, no one had noticed when someone had appeared behind them!

"Admiral Kizaru!"

The Marines present were shocked and instinctively stood at attention, saluting.

Luffy rolled his eyes dramatically: "Uncle, shouldn't you explain this? Why is the Navy's own secret weapon bombarding a Vice Admiral like me? Are you aware of this?"

Kizaru scratched his head like a retired old man taking a stroll, showing no reaction to Luffy's unwarranted attempt to claim kinship. He simply replied dismissively, "Oh, what a pity. I'm not entirely sure about the situation either. The Pacifista has gone berserk. It seems the test subject is indeed a bit unstable."

The nickname "Acting Monkey" wasn't given lightly. While the specifics were unclear, Luffy's acting skills in the Marineford War, particularly his deliberate actions in the Pacific, were undeniable. Unless Kizaru came from a different timeline, Luffy was 80% certain that Kizaru, unless a Yonko-sent spy, was on his side in terms of overall strategy.

After all, Luffy was a Marine, and his father was a Revolutionary Army member; if Kizaru wasn't completely out of his mind, he would understand the implications.

Therefore, the only people with the authority to modify orders without Kizaru noticing could be the Five Elders or Celestial Dragons of the World Government.

At this moment, Luffy was unaware that Kizaru was inwardly turmoil. He wouldn't be surprised if Luffy easily defeated the Pacifista; after all, the kid's record spoke for itself.

His hasty arrival was purely out of fear that Luffy might be injured in a sneak attack, making it difficult to explain to Garp.

But he never expected that Luffy would use such a bizarre method to directly "control" the Pacifista.

This is Vegapunk's core technology, a genius's brain. Logically, without supreme authority, no one should be able to seize control.

"Hey! Hey! You guys are making things difficult for me! PX-4! Building this thing costs the entire budget of a warship!"

"Seriously, how am I supposed to write a report to that Punk bastard?!"

A resentful voice came from the treetop. Everyone looked up and saw a burly man wearing a red bib and carrying a large axe leap down from the tree.

It was Sentomaru, the captain of the Marine Science Unit.

Usopp looked at Sentomaru, then at Franky, and couldn't help but retort:

"Hey, Franky, there's a guy here wearing weird underwear just like you."

Sentomaru: "..."

"If you wanted to travel, where would you like to go?"

Another gentle but emotionless voice came from the other side.

Luffy grinned. "Wow, is this some kind of all-star party? Everyone's here."

"Kumaru! What are you doing here?"

Sentomaru frowned, staring at Bartholomew Kuma who had suddenly appeared.

This mission only brought the Pacifistas for testing; Kuma, as the prototype, shouldn't be here.

"If you wanted to travel, where would you want to go?"

Kumaru seemed not to hear Sentomaru's question, mechanically repeating the same question.

Luffy's face darkened, because he noticed a strange red light flashing in one of Kuma's eyes, like that of a Terminator.

"Zoro, Sanji! Take Nami and the others to the edge!"

Luffy ordered Zoro behind him in a stern voice.

"What's wrong?" Zoro pressed his hand to the Wado Ichimonji, keenly sensing the tense atmosphere.

"This level of combat is beyond your control. Retreat immediately!"

Luffy's tone was stern.

Zoro gave the bear a deep look, gritted his teeth, and ultimately chose to trust Luffy's judgment, leading the group in a reluctant retreat.

At this moment, Kizaru also noticed the anomaly: "This is strange. Logically, the bear should still retain its self-awareness at this point."

Under normal circumstances, Kuma hadn't yet undergone the final brain modification surgery, and his consciousness as a Revolutionary Army officer should still be intact.

"Someone forcibly intervened in the system. Even if his body is still cyborg, it's enough to forcibly take over his actions."

Luffy stared intently at Kuma. If there was one Shichibukai Luffy feared most, it wasn't Doflamingo, the Celestial Dragon, nor the world's greatest swordsman, Mihawk,

but rather this "Title Douluo," the Tyrant Kuma, who had only recently appeared and was about to be officially dethroned.

His Paw-Paw Fruit was practically a bug in the system. Not only could he compress air to create nuclear-bomb-like shockwaves and teleport, but he could even project concepts like fatigue and pain from the human body—it was utterly outrageous.

No one knew the limits of Kuma's power.

Luffy had just tried hacking him, but perhaps because Kuma hadn't completely become a machine, invading his cyborg brain was far more difficult than controlling a Pacifista. Kuma's subconscious self-preservation mechanisms were fiercely resisting.

Even as the bear muttered its classic line, "Where to travel?", its movements were lightning fast.

In the blink of an eye, its massive body teleported to Luffy's side, its glove-less, fleshy paw slamming down with terrifying wind pressure.

"So fast!"

Zoro and the others in the distance were shocked, and Sanji even dropped his cigarette in fright. Even with his newly awakened Observation Haki, he couldn't detect the bear's movements at all.
