Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Can You Stop Playing with Your Phone All the Time?

The developer of ctOS is active in the hacking World again; this is big news.,-*' ^ '~*-.,_,.-*~ ~*-.,_,.-*~' ^ '*-,

The private army once employed by Blume Corporation is now employed by Osborn; the situation has quietly changed.

As Harry expected, Aiden, the protagonist, also came looking.

Just looking at his backstory, he's a talent, single-handedly taking down all kinds of mercenaries who were chasing and blocking him in his own story.

However, he eventually drifted further and further down the path of the "Vigilante."

Back to Aiden, he finally found the mastermind behind the phone calls threatening his family—this mastermind has now captured his family to force him to uncover Blume Corporation's secrets.

But this mastermind is only doing it to blackmail Blume Corporation.

With his family captured, Aiden has no choice but to work for him—besides, this also involves the truth behind his niece's murder.

"You still came to the door, Vigilante."

The so-called Vigilante is a nickname Aiden has in Chicago.

After his niece died because of him, he had been trying to find the mastermind who killed her. In the process, he constantly used ctOS to find those criminals and stop them.

But Harry felt that there was a large component of venting emotions through violence in this behavior.

Harry's words surprised both Bone and Tobias—no one knew the identity of the Vigilante, but they both agreed with the Vigilante's actions.

"..." Aiden opened his mouth but ultimately did not deny it.

"I need your help, I need to find—"

Harry played that video.

"You need to find this thing. I know. My offer still stands. Are you going to join us, or continue working alone?"

"Remember what I said? You might be a tough guy, but as long as you stay in this line of work, you'll never be able to live a normal life with your family, and you might even involve them."

"Work for me, and I can give you what you want."

Sitting opposite Harry, Aiden said nothing.

Harry wasn't in a hurry. Most of these talents have mental obsessions, but no matter what kind of obsession, it's related to reality.

And in this World, money and power can solve most real-World problems—of course, some problems require superpowers to solve.

Without Harry, Aiden would never have a chance to get out, because even if he let go of everything, someone might still come looking for him—because of everything he had done.

The only way would have been to kill off Aiden Pearce, hide in the darkness, take out every damn criminal, and be a Vigilante forever.

But by joining Osborn, Harry was fully capable of protecting his family and giving him and his family a normal life.

"I'm in, but you need to rescue my family first."

Excellent, Osborn has added another talented employee.

Harry waved his hand, and Bone turned on the projection behind him.

"This video was moved by Blume to a gang's territory. We need someone to infiltrate that place, upload a virus, and then get the data."

Bone took out a USB drive.

"But our actions have greatly provoked Blume Corporation. They've deployed more mercenaries there now. Forcing our way in is a bit unrealistic. Do you have any good ideas?"

The words were directed at Aiden; he looked like a man of action—and they couldn't let Harry do this job, as Harry was the boss.

Several screens Bone hacked into showed that many mercenaries had indeed gathered there, fully armed and well-equipped.

Although Harry employed more people, they could only be used for security. If he sent these people to a firefight, he would actually be at a disadvantage.

At this moment, Aiden noticed a fat man in the footage who seemed very dissatisfied with the gang leader, but he held a high position—he could enter that offline data storage room.

"We start with this person—"

Before Aiden could finish, a sharp whistling sound came from outside the window.

"We're going straight in, from the sky." Harry pointed outside; Frank had arrived.

Frank was wearing Dark Green Combat Armor, standing on a Flyer, with another set of equipment following behind him.

"Boss, are we starting the operation now?"

Everyone looked at each other.

"My god... so that 'Green Guy' really is one of Osborn's people?" Bone took two steps toward the window. "This skateboard is so cool, can you get me one?"

Harry smiled: "This is the military version. The civilian version isn't easy to put on the market—because of policy issues."

"Aiden, you use this thing to infiltrate. This is Frank, Osborn's head of security; he'll teach you how to use it."

"Any other questions?" Harry clapped his hands, and the Flyer slid into the room.

Aiden was equally shocked by the high-tech equipment in front of him—he finally wouldn't have to climb around the city anymore.

"None."

"Good, let's head out now. Let's finish this business early. Every day this isn't resolved, Osborn loses a lot of income."

Harry made a gesture of invitation to Aiden.

The infiltration was almost effortless.

Frank and Aiden easily bypassed the ground security forces and arrived outside the warehouse wall unnoticed.

"In position," Aiden said, holding his phone.

"Man, we're on a mission. Can you stop looking at your phone all the time? Phone addiction?" Frank complained.

"..."

Actually, Frank had misunderstood. In the past, Aiden had always used his phone to hack ctOS, get the data he wanted, and control city facilities to provide cover for himself.

Thinking about it carefully, in a sense, it could be considered phone addiction.

"Ahem, don't discuss other things during the operation. According to the original plan, blow open the wall and insert that thing in your hand into the Server," Harry instructed.

"Um... Mr. Osborn, although I hate to say it, there's one thing you should know. Uploading the virus and downloading the data both take time. If you blow open the wall directly, it's likely to attract many mercenaries."

"So are you sure your 'high-tech gadget' will work?"

Bone said somewhat uncertainly.

Being caught in the act of hacking is the worst-case scenario; no one can say for sure if they would just blow up the database.

The original plan was for the two to sneak in and quietly steal the data, but Harry said: Give me the USB drive; when the time comes, you just stick this rod in there and it's done.

No wonder Bone was skeptical.

But Lening could indeed accelerate the data transfer speed to an unimaginable level, though it would cause damage to the circuits—but that wasn't important.

"Trust me. Alright, Aiden, Frank, get ready to move."

As Harry's voice fell, the sound of an explosion rang out!

Before the mercenaries and the gang could react, Aiden inserted the device into the Server as Harry had instructed.

The Server suddenly sparked with electrical fire, and with a pop, black smoke billowed out...

"Mission accomplished."

Unlike the bewildered Aiden, Harry clapped his hands easily.

It went much more smoothly than imagined.
