"In light of the recent terrorist attacks, the NYPD and the State National Guard have organized multiple training exercises."
"Tonight, the two agencies will conduct another emergency response drill, which will take place in Manhattan and its neighboring boroughs."
"This is the first time Manhattan has been selected as an exercise zone."
"Some citizens and civil organizations have expressed concern: Is it necessary to conduct frequent anti-terrorism drills in the city?"
The so-called civil organizations were actually just two political families expressing their dissatisfaction.
However, Norman had long since reached out to them. After all, New York was now Osborn Family territory; a little appeasement, and they wouldn't have much to say.
"Genius kid, are you at the Expo? Hammer Industries recruited Ivan Vanko, and those exhibits are dangerous!"
Harry quickly received a call from Tony; by now, the power armor had already entered the city.
"Ivan Vanko?"
"That Soviet with the incredible physique! We must evacuate that area immediately—an exercise? Are you serious?"
Halfway through his sentence, prompted by Jarvis, Tony suddenly realized the surrounding area had already entered exercise mode!
"Today was originally scheduled for an exercise. If you can, you could lead them to the outskirts. What do you think?"
Harry shrugged. A few seconds later, Tony landed in the middle of the exhibition stage.
However, Harry didn't plan to interfere in their grand battle.
"Frank, have the squad enter the main hall. The scene is out of control. It's a terrorist attack, and the enemies are robots. The mission is to protect the crowd and showcase the new equipment."
"Copy that."
By now, the exhibition hall was enveloped in an eerie atmosphere. Two Iron Men faced each other from a distance, with Justin Hammer standing off to the side.
The next moment, War Machine Rhodes' muzzle suddenly locked onto Tony, and Tony took off without a word!
Dozens of unmanned robotic soldiers opened fire simultaneously, instantly puncturing the roof of the exhibition hall!
Just as massive shards of glass were about to fall, heavy footsteps echoed in everyone's ears—
Bang!
Screams, the sound of crashing glass, and the heavy thuds of power armor made the scene chaotic and incredibly messy.
But after a moment, people were surprised to find that those glass shards hadn't actually hit them!
firefighting power armor protected the spectators who hadn't had time to flee, with the large glass shards all being blocked by a temporary barrier!
It was the Osborn Group's power armor!
Elsewhere, countless robotic soldiers suddenly appeared on the streets. The units drilling nearby immediately entered combat mode and began advancing toward the exhibition hall!
"I never thought I'd be back on the battlefield after retiring, especially on U.S. soil!" Curtis shouted over the comms channel.
"Neither did I, but this time we have these things on us! We have support!" Frank said as he used his goblin glider to kick off the head of an Iron Soldier.
"Damn, where did you get such a cool glider! Bullets are useless against those tin cans; we need new weapons!"
"It's not my problem you can't handle a glider. Besides, we do have new weapons!" A dart-like object popped out of the glider beneath Frank's feet, its core flashing with white electrical current. "Grenade!"
The dart zipped through the air and embedded itself in an Iron Soldier.
Boom!
Electricity erupted, and the Iron Soldier was blown apart, losing more than half its chassis as if struck by lightning.
"So cool. Can you throw one for me too?" Curtis rubbed his head.
"Sure, as long as you can guarantee hitting the Rocket launcher!"
Boom!
These Iron Soldiers were also equipped with Rocket launchers! In an instant, the scene was blown into a mess, with buildings teetering on the verge of collapse.
Just as the Iron Soldiers were about to fire their next round of Rockets, the National Guard arrived!
Soldiers wearing power armor quickly surrounded the Iron Soldiers. The Iron Soldiers had Rockets, and so did the National Guard!
Rockets were fired in unison, instantly suppressing the Iron Soldiers!
"Terrorists inside, you are surrounded. Lay down your weapons."
Norman poked his head out of an armored vehicle as the steel torrent advanced slowly.
Nearby reporters were snapping photos frantically; this was perfect promotional material.
"Support has arrived. Avoid direct confrontation with the enemy; our mission wasn't to annihilate them anyway." Frank breathed a sigh of relief and issued orders to his team.
Frank, piloting the goblin glider, continued to save civilians who were nearly killed by the Iron Soldiers' weapons. Just then, he noticed a freak in red pajamas swinging through the air.
"And who are you? A freak wearing pajamas at night who shoots weird white silk from his hands?" Frank flew up beside this red pajama baby.
"Uh, I'm Spider-Man, the one who's been all over the TV lately. Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. I thought you guys might need some help. What can I do?"
The red pajama baby was, of course, Peter Parker.
Uncle Ben's near-death experience still inspired Peter to become Spider-Man, though it was hard to say what changes a living Uncle Ben would bring.
Spider-Man can do many things.
For example, today, Peter had carried a large bag of snacks and climbed a high-rise building near the exhibition hall to watch the Stark Expo.
But as he watched, things started going wrong. Those cool Iron Soldiers suddenly went out of control, and Peter felt he should do something.
"Save people. And, I don't go online much." Frank said as he rejoined the battlefield.
"Okay! Mr. Green, are you a superhero from the Osborn Group? Online—"
Frank didn't have a habit of chattering; he ignored the rest of Peter's words and flew off on his own.
"Boss, the National Guard has arrived and is wiping out the enemy forces." Frank reported the situation to Harry.
"Good. Protect the civilians; this will be over soon."
Harry hung up the phone, and Bone's voice came through his ear.
"Boss, we've locked onto the signal used to control the Iron Soldiers and are tracking it."
"No need to track it. Send me the signal signature; I'll track it myself."
Bone and the others had the ability to track Ivan, but they wouldn't be much faster than Tony.
But as long as he was in New York, and as long as his signal signature could be locked, finding the source was just a matter of an instant for Lening.
Harry wanted to catch the guy while he was still playing on his computer.
The goblin glider hovered in front of Harry. It was time to harvest Ivan's invention.
Another sonic boom echoed in the night sky.
Ivan Vanko was in some trouble. In the original story, it would have taken Tony and War Machine some time to take down all the Iron Soldiers before he made his move.
But now, his Iron Soldiers were all being held back around the Expo. These Osborn power armors might not be as technically powerful as his Iron Soldiers, but they were certainly tough, and there were more of them.
Now his unmanned mechs were almost depleted. It seemed it was time to pilot the Crimson Mech and have a duel with Tony.
The massive mech slowly rose into the sky, only for him to find someone already waiting for him outside.
"Ivan Vanko, a brilliant physicist and inventor. I'd actually love to hire a talent like you, but you just won't be content working for Americans, will you?"
Harry had been waiting here for a long time.
"Harry Osborn? You aren't my target, but if you want to stand in my way, I don't mind taking down another American."
"Then give it a try."
With a wave of his hands, two lightning whips surging with electricity appeared in Ivan's grasp.
"lightning whips, huh? They look quite intimidating."
Before Harry could finish, the weapons in Ivan's hands lashed out at him. But Harry didn't dodge; instead, he reached out and grabbed them.
The current didn't easily pierce the seemingly fragile armor on Harry's body as Ivan had expected. Instead, it swirled around Harry as if controlled by something.
"What is this?"
"electric sprites. It seems you're not a qualified trainer; they've turned on you."
The energy in his chest poured into the lightning whips like a flood, but the current had absolutely no effect on Harry!
Sensing something was wrong, Ivan tried to pull back the lightning whips, but he found that Harry's strength was not inferior to his own!
He operated the mech to cut the power, but the current clung to his mech like sticky candy, impossible to shake off.
Not only that, but the current seemed to take on a life of its own, surging into the interior of his mech, piercing through layers of capacitors and insulation—
Bang.
Black smoke billowed from the Crimson Mech. After the current pierced the safety measures, it instantly surged through his body—death was instantaneous.
And Harry was surprised to find that the goblin glider was signaling low power.
[Reactor energy remaining: 2%]
The glider Harry used was powered by two palladium reactors. To pierce Ivan's mech, it had actually exhausted all its energy!
As expected of something built by the former Soviet Union; the quality is indeed quite good.
Harry shook his head; he'd leave the rest to the others.
Though, it was time for him to upgrade his power system.
