Chapter Sixty-Three: Home

The plane landed in Manila as the sun was setting.

Golden light streamed through the windows as they descended through the clouds, the familiar landscape of the Philippines spreading below them—green islands, blue sea, the sprawl of the city in the distance.

Jay pressed her face to the window, Keiran on her lap, Rex and Ganesha clutched in his hands.

"We're home, baby."

"Home, Mamma?"

"Home. The Philippines. Our home."

Keiran pressed his face to the window too. "It looks like before."

"It is before. It's where we live."

"Rex happy. Rex missed home."

"Rex is a good traveler."

---

The plane touched down with a gentle bump.

Everyone cheered.

Percy led the cheer. "WE'RE HOME! WE SURVIVED INDIA! WE SURVIVED EACH OTHER!"

Honey hugged him. "We did, babe. We did."

C.N. stretched. "Two months. It felt like two years and two days simultaneously."

Rakii nodded. "Time works differently on trips like that."

David grabbed Freya's hand. "Best trip ever."

"The best," she agreed.

---

They gathered their luggage in the private terminal—mountains of bags, souvenirs, memories.

Keigan was waiting.

He stood near the exit, trying to look cool, but the smile on his face gave him away.

Keiran spotted him first. "KEIGAN! KEIGAN! WE'RE HOME!"

He ran—toddled as fast as his little legs could carry him—and launched himself at his older brother.

Keigan caught him, laughing. "Hey, little dude. Missed you."

"REX MISSED YOU! GANESHA MISSED YOU! I MISSED YOU!"

"I missed you too."

He looked up at the others approaching. Jay. Keifer. The whole chaotic crew.

"Welcome home, everyone."

---

The group hug that followed was ridiculous.

Percy cried. Again.

Honey patted his back. "You're going to dehydrate at this rate."

"WORTH IT!"

C.N. shook Keigan's hand formally. "Good to see you, brother."

Keigan raised an eyebrow. "Brother?"

"You're family now. Accept it."

"Fine. Brother."

---

They spilled out of the terminal into the warm Philippine air.

Cars waited. Drivers loaded luggage.

But no one wanted to leave.

Percy grabbed Chethan's number from his phone one last time. "I'm texting you EVERY DAY."

Chethan's face appeared on the video call. "I'M READY! SEND MEMES!"

"MEMES INCOMING!"

Honey pulled Percy toward their car. "Babe, we have to go."

"ONE MORE MINUTE!"

"You've had twenty minutes."

"TWENTY ISN'T ENOUGH!"

---

Goodbyes continued.

C.N. and Rakii headed to their car, already planning to meet up tomorrow.

David and Freya waved from their ride.

Mica blew kisses. Calix smiled.

Felix and Bridget held hands, walking toward their own car.

Aries and Ella stood with Jay and Keifer.

"So," Aries said. "Home."

"Home," Jay agreed.

"Tita Gemma's already planning a welcome dinner. Tomorrow. Non-negotiable."

Jay laughed. "Wouldn't miss it."

---

Finally, it was just them.

Keifer. Jay. Keiran. Keigan. Their luggage. The warm Philippine night.

Keifer pulled Jay close. "We're home."

"We're home." She looked at the sky. Different stars than India. But just as beautiful.

Keiran tugged her hand. "Mamma, can we call Akshi and Shreya now?"

"Baby, they're probably sleeping. Time difference, remember?"

"Oh." He considered this. "Tomorrow?"

"First thing tomorrow."

"Rex will wait."

---

The drive to the mansion was familiar and strange all at once.

The same roads. The same lights. But everything felt different.

They pulled through the gates, up the long driveway, to the massive house that was somehow home.

Staff greeted them. The chef had prepared a light meal. Everything was ready.

Keiran ran inside, Rex and Ganesha leading the way. "HOME! WE'RE HOME! REX, THIS IS HOME!"

Keigan followed, smiling. "It's good to be back."

Jay stood in the entrance, Keifer beside her.

"Remember when I first saw this place?" she asked. "I couldn't believe people lived like this."

"And now?"

"Now it's just... home."

He kissed her forehead. "The best home."

"The best."

---

That night, after Keiran was tucked in (with Rex and Ganesha on guard duty) and Keigan had retreated to his room, Jay and Keifer stood on their balcony.

The same balcony where they'd spent so many nights. Looking at the same city lights.

But everything was different.

"I keep thinking about them," Jay said softly. "Shreya. Akshi. Chethan. Mithun. All of them."

"They're thinking about us too."

"I know. But it's strange. Having them so far away."

"Technology helps. Video calls. Messages." He pulled her closer. "And we'll visit. Soon."

"Promise?"

"Promise. Until the end of the universe."

She smiled. "That's a long time."

"Not long enough."

---

Her phone buzzed.

Akshi: MADE IT HOME? WE MISS YOU ALREADY!

Shreya: Send photos! Lots of photos!

Jay laughed, typing back.

Jay: Home safe. Miss you both. Call tomorrow. Sisters forever.

Akshi: FOREVER!

Shreya: ❤️❤️❤️

---

Keifer looked at her phone. "They're fast."

"They're eager."

"Good sisters."

"The best."

She tucked her phone away and leaned into him.

"Keif?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you. For everything. For India. For this life. For us."

He kissed her softly. "Thank you for fainting on that sidewalk."

She laughed. "Best mistake I ever made."

"Best catch I ever made."

They stood together, watching the city lights.

Home.

Finally, completely, forever home.

---

Inside, Keiran dreamed of India.

Of Akshi and Shreya. Of Chethan and Mithun. Of temples and elephants and chai.

Rex and Ganesha stood guard.

And somewhere in Karnataka, two sisters smiled, thinking of their new family across the sea.

The adventure was over.

But the family had just begun.
