Chapter 73 - wedding

Chapter Seventy-One: The Wedding - Where Love Takes Flight

The morning of the wedding dawned golden and perfect.

Jay woke at 5 AM, heart pounding.

Today was the day.

She was marrying Mark Keifer Watson.

Keifer stirred beside her. "Nervous?"

"Terrified. Happy. Everything."

He kissed her forehead. "Me too. But mostly happy."

"Mostly?"

"Mostly. The terrified part is about Percy's speech."

She laughed. "Fair."

"We should get up. The chaos will start soon."

"Five more minutes."

"Always five more minutes."

---

The mansion exploded into chaos at exactly 6 AM.

Tita Gemma arrived with an army of helpers. Hair stylists. Makeup artists. Florists. Caterers. Everyone moving at once, shouting instructions, carrying things.

Jay was whisked away to the bridal suite—a beautiful room filled with flowers and mirrors and dresses and sisters.

Ella. Rakii. Freya. Mica. Honey. Grace. And of course, Shreya and Akshi.

Her sisters.

All of them.

Shreya was already crying. "You're getting MARRIED!"

"A little early for tears."

"I CAN'T HELP IT! I've been waiting for this day since I met you!"

Akshi hugged Jay fiercely. "SISTER! WEDDING DAY! BEST DAY EVER!"

Mica was bouncing off the walls. "I'M SO EXCITED! THE DRESS! THE FLOWERS! THE CAKE! THE—"

Calix appeared in the doorway. "Mica. You're supposed to be getting ready in YOUR room."

"I AM getting ready! Emotionally! There's a difference!"

"Mica."

"FINE FINE I'm coming!" She kissed Jay's cheek. "You're going to be the most beautiful bride EVER!"

---

The makeup artists descended.

Jay sat in the chair, watching her reflection transform.

Ella supervised. "More blush. No, less. Actually perfect."

Rakii photographed everything. "For the behind-the-scenes album."

Freya quietly helped with hair accessories.

Honey handled any crisis that arose (Percy-related or otherwise).

Grace sat with baby Grazel, who was fascinated by all the activity.

Shreya held Jay's hand when nerves hit.

Akshi made everyone laugh with ridiculous stories.

"Remember when Chethan tried to cook and set off the fire alarm? THREE TIMES?"

Shreya giggled. "He said it was 'experimental cooking'!"

"EXPERIMENTAL! That's what he calls disaster!"

---

In the other wing, the groom's side was equally chaotic.

Percy had taken over Keifer's room, attempting to style everyone's hair.

"YOU NEED MORE GEL! EVERYONE NEEDS MORE GEL!"

Aries pushed his hand away. "Percy. No."

"PERCY YES!"

C.N. was already perfectly groomed, watching the chaos with amusement. "This is why I got ready two hours ago."

Rakii, passing by, stuck her head in. "Genius boy, you look nice."

C.N. actually blushed. "Thank you."

Percy pointed. "HE BLUSHED! C.N. BLUSHED!"

"Percy, focus on your own hair."

"MY HAIR IS PERFECT! EVERYONE ELSE'S IS TRAGIC!"

Yuri appeared, camera already rolling. "Historical documentation. Groom's preparation. Chaos levels: maximum."

"YURI! GET THAT OUT OF MY FACE!"

"Never!"

---

Keifer stood before the mirror, adjusting his tie.

Charcoal grey. Perfect fit. The suit Jay had chosen weeks ago.

Mithun stood beside him, calm as always. "Nervous?"

"Surprisingly, no. Excited."

"As you should be. She's remarkable."

Keifer looked at him. "You and Shreya. Any progress?"

Mithun's ears went pink. "We're... friends."

"Friends who look at each other like that?"

"I don't know what you mean."

Keifer smiled. "Of course you don't."

---

Chethan burst in, already dressed but somehow rumpled. "GUYS! GUYS! The flowers arrived! They're SO PRETTY!"

Percy grabbed him. "FLOWERS! LET'S GO SEE!"

They ran out together.

Aries shook his head. "Two of them. There are two of them now."

David laughed. "The chaos twins."

Felix adjusted his own simple but elegant outfit. "This is going to be a memorable wedding."

Calix nodded. "The most memorable."

Denzel held Grazel, bouncing her gently. "She's going to sleep through the whole thing, watch."

Grace smiled. "Probably. But she'll be the cutest sleeping baby ever."

---

By 10 AM, everything was ready.

The garden had been transformed.

White chairs in perfect rows. An arch covered in ivory and gold flowers. Aisles lined with petals. The mansion providing a stunning backdrop.

Guests began arriving.

Family. Friends. Colleagues. Approximately three hundred people, just as predicted.

Tita Gemma directed traffic. Tito Rachel guarded the food. Kuya Michel Angelo stood tall, watching everything with quiet satisfaction.

Beside him stood Ion—a woman no one had met before.

She was elegant, calm, with kind eyes and a gentle smile. She held Kuya's hand like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Percy spotted them first. "WHO IS THAT?"

Aries followed his gaze. "Is that... Kuya Angelo... with a WOMAN?"

C.N. adjusted his glasses. "Ion. She's a family friend. They've been... close for a while."

"CLOSE? THEY'RE HOLDING HANDS!"

"Hence 'close.'"

Percy grabbed Honey. "HONEY! KUYA ANGELO HAS A GIRLFRIEND!"

Honey looked. Smiled. "Good for him."

"BUT—BUT—"

"Percy. Let people be happy."

He deflated. "Fine. But I'm asking questions later."

Yuri zoomed in on them. "Kuya Angelo and Ion. Documenting for posterity."

---

The ceremony was set for 11 AM.

At 10:30, Jay was ready.

She stood before the mirror, and for a moment, couldn't breathe.

The dress was perfect. Simple sheath. Elegant lace. A veil that cascaded behind her like morning mist.

Her sisters surrounded her.

Shreya was openly weeping. "You're so beautiful. SO BEAUTIFUL."

Akshi was also crying. "I can't. I literally can't."

Ella hugged her carefully. "You're ready."

Rakii took one last photo. "For the album."

Freya handed her a tissue. "Happy tears only."

Mica grinned. "Keifer's going to DIE when he sees you."

Honey nodded. "Absolutely perish."

Grace held up Grazel. "Look, baby. Auntie Jay is a bride."

Grazel cooed, as if approving.

Jay took a deep breath. "Okay. Let's do this."

---

The music began.

The guests rose.

One by one, the wedding party processed.

First, Keiran.

He walked down the aisle with intense concentration, a small pillow bearing the rings in his hands. Rex was tucked under one arm. Ganesha under the other. Both wore tiny bow ties.

The guests melted.

Tita Gemma sobbed. "LOOK AT HIM! LOOK AT THE BABY!"

Keiran reached the front, handed the pillow to Keifer with solemn dignity, then turned to the crowd and waved.

"I DID IT!"

Everyone laughed.

Rex and Ganesha waved too.

---

The bridesmaids followed.

Ella, elegant in gold. Rakii, beautiful and camera-ready. Freya, serene and lovely. Mica, somehow walking perfectly despite her usual chaos. Honey, glowing with happiness. Grace, holding Grazel, who wore a tiny matching dress.

Then Shreya and Akshi.

Jay's sisters from India.

Shreya walked with quiet grace, tears streaming, smiling through them.

Akshi bounced slightly, waving at everyone, absolutely radiant.

Chethan, standing with the groomsmen, watched Akshi with an expression no one noticed.

Except Shreya.

Who noticed everything.

Except Mithun.

Who was watching Shreya.

---

Then the music shifted.

The bridal march.

Everyone turned.

And Jay appeared.

---

Keifer forgot to breathe.

She walked toward him—his Jay, his love, his everything—and the world disappeared.

Ivory and gold. Sunlight catching her veil. Eyes only for him.

She reached him. Took his hands.

"You're here," he whispered.

"I'm here."

"You're beautiful."

"You're not so bad yourself."

The priest smiled. "Shall we begin?"

---

The ceremony was perfect.

Vows exchanged. Tears shed. Laughter mixed with joy.

When they placed rings on each other's fingers, Keiran cheered. "SPARKLY THINGS! THEY DID IT!"

Rex and Ganesha approved.

The priest pronounced them husband and wife.

"You may kiss the bride."

Keifer pulled Jay close and kissed her like the world had disappeared.

Percy whooped. "FINALLY!"

The crowd erupted.

Yuri captured it all, tears streaming down his face behind the camera. "Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful."

---

The reception was chaos in the best way.

Tents on the lawn. String lights overhead. Long tables laden with food. A dance floor already crowded.

Percy grabbed the microphone immediately. "EVERYONE! WELCOME! TO THE BEST WEDDING EVER!"

Honey tried to take the mic. "Babe, let the professionals—"

"I AM a professional! Professional PARTY STARTER!"

Yuri filmed him. "Percy's first speech. Take seventeen."

---

The toasts began.

Aries stood first. "To my sister. My troublemaker. You found love, you found happiness, you found a man who can handle our chaos." He raised his glass. "Keifer, welcome to the family. Officially."

Ella cheered. "HEAR HEAR!"

Percy grabbed the mic next. "OKAY! My turn! Jay, baby sista, you're the best thing that happened to our family. You made Keifer human. You made Keiran happy. You put up with ME." He paused dramatically. "That's true love."

Honey wiped her eyes. "That was actually beautiful."

"I HAVE MOMENTS!"

C.N. stood. "Mother." Everyone laughed. "You're not my mother, but you're the closest thing I have. Thank you for everything. And Keifer—take care of her. Or else."

Rakii snapped his photo mid-speech. "Perfect."

---

The India crew spoke next.

Shreya stood, voice trembling. "Jay. Keifer. You welcomed us like family. You made us sisters. You gave us a home away from home. We love you. Forever."

Akshi grabbed the mic. "AND! I have a feeling this wedding isn't the only romance we'll see today!" She looked meaningfully at Shreya and Mithun.

Shreya's face went red. "Akshi!"

"What? I'm just SAYING!"

Chethan pulled her back. "Let them eat before you cause chaos."

"Chaos IS my middle name!"

"I thought it was 'Joy'?"

"THAT TOO!"

Mithun, seated calmly, caught Shreya's eye. He smiled slightly. She looked away quickly.

Yuri zoomed in. "Got it."

---

The dance floor opened.

Jay and Keifer had their first dance—slow, sweet, perfect.

Then the music shifted, and everyone joined.

Percy dragged Honey. Aries spun Ella. C.N. actually danced with Rakii (badly, but enthusiastically).

David and Freya moved together effortlessly. Felix and Bridget were lost in each other. Mica and Calix made everything chaotic and fun.

Denzel held Grace close, Grazel between them, the baby giggling at the movement.

Tita Gemma dragged Tito Rachel onto the floor. He protested but danced anyway.

Kuya Angelo danced with Ion, both of them graceful and calm, a perfect match.

Yuri danced with his camera. "Best seat in the house."

---

Akshi grabbed Chethan. "DANCE WITH ME!"

"I don't dance!"

"EVERYONE DANCES AT WEDDINGS!"

She pulled him onto the floor. He stumbled. She laughed. He laughed.

They moved together—clumsy, chaotic, perfect.

Shreya watched them from the side, a knowing smile on her face.

Mithun appeared beside her. "You see it too?"

"See what?"

"The way he looks at her."

She looked at him. "The way who looks at who?"

He met her eyes. Held them.

Neither looked away.

---

Keiran ran up to them. "AUNTIE SHREYA! UNCLE MITHUN! COME DANCE!"

Shreya blinked. "Uncle Mithun?"

"YES! UNCLE MITHUN! COME!"

Mithun looked at Shreya. "Shall we?"

She nodded, suddenly shy.

They followed Keiran to the dance floor.

Keiran grabbed their hands, making them dance together. "LIKE THIS! MOVE LIKE THIS!"

They moved. Awkwardly. Close.

C.N. appeared beside Aries and David. "Look at them."

Aries nodded. "They look good together."

David grinned. "Really good."

"They're watching over Keiran like he's theirs."

"Natural."

"Like parents."

They exchanged glances.

C.N. called out, "You two look nice with them!"

Shreya's face went crimson. Mithun's ears went pink.

David added, "Like a little family!"

Aries nodded. "Very natural."

Shreya buried her face in her hands. Mithun cleared his throat.

But neither of them moved apart.

---

Meanwhile, Akshi and Chethan had grabbed Grazel.

The baby loved them.

Absolutely loved them.

She reached for Akshi's nose. Grabbed Chethan's finger. Giggled at everything.

Akshi held her carefully. "She's SO TINY! SO PERFECT!"

Chethan hovered nearby, protective. "Don't drop her."

"I WON'T DROP HER! I'm CAREFUL!"

"You're chaotic."

"I'm CAREFUL CHAOS!"

Grazel grabbed Chethan's shirt and pulled him closer. Then she pointed at Percy, who was doing something ridiculous across the room.

"Bah!"

Akshi looked. Saw Percy. Laughed.

Grazel pointed again. "BAH!"

Chethan translated. "She's saying 'look at that blue-eyed monkey.'"

Akshi howled. "BLUE-EYED MONKEY! PERCY!"

Percy heard. Ran over. "WHAT? WHAT DID I DO?"

Grazel pointed at him. "BAH!"

Percy gasped dramatically. "She called me something! I don't know what, but I'm OFFENDED!"

"She called you a blue-eyed monkey!"

"A BLUE-EYED MONKEY? That's the BEST compliment!"

Honey appeared. "He's going to be insufferable now."

"More insufferable?"

"SO much more."

Yuri captured the whole exchange. "Baby's first insult. Historical moment."

---

The bouquet toss.

All the single women gathered.

Shreya tried to hide. Akshi dragged her forward. "YOU'RE PARTICIPATING!"

"I don't want to!"

"TOO BAD!"

Jay turned her back. Tossed the bouquet.

It flew through the air.

And landed—directly in Chethan's hands.

Everyone stared.

Chethan stared at the bouquet in his hands. "I'm... not a woman."

Percy screamed. "IT DOESN'T MATTER! YOU CAUGHT IT! NOW YOU HAVE TO PROPOSE!"

Chethan looked at the bouquet. Looked at Akshi.

Akshi looked at him. Blushed.

Something shifted in his expression.

He walked toward her.

The crowd went silent.

He stopped in front of her. Held out the bouquet.

"I know this is crazy. I know we're young. I know we've only known each other for a few months." He took a breath. "But Akshi, I've never met anyone like you. You're chaos and light and everything good. And I don't want to wait."

Akshi's eyes were huge. "Chethan..."

He dropped to one knee.

Gasps from the crowd.

He pulled out a small box. Opened it.

A simple ring. Perfect.

"Akshi Joy, will you marry me?"

---

For a moment, silence.

Then Akshi screamed.

"YES! YES YES YES!"

She launched herself at him. He caught her, laughing, crying, both of them spinning.

The crowd erupted.

Percy was on the floor. "ANOTHER WEDDING! WE'RE GETTING ANOTHER WEDDING!"

Honey cried happy tears.

Shreya grabbed Mithun's arm. "DID YOU KNOW?"

"I suspected."

"SUSPECTED? He had a RING!"

"He's been carrying it for a week. Asked my advice."

Shreya stared at him. "You KEPT this from me?"

"I kept his secret. Not mine."

She should have been mad. Instead, she was crying.

Happy tears.

For her best friends.

Mithun gently squeezed her hand. She didn't pull away.

Yuri zoomed in. "Got that too."

---

Akshi showed everyone the ring.

Chethan was mobbed by well-wishers.

Grazel, still nearby, pointed at them. "BAH!"

Akshi laughed. "She approves!"

"She's the best judge of character."

"She called Percy a blue-eyed monkey."

"See? PERFECT judge."

---

The party continued.

More dancing. More food. More chaos.

Percy gave a second speech. Then a third. Honey finally confiscated the mic.

C.N. started a betting pool for Akshi and Chethan's wedding date. Rakii handled the bookkeeping.

David attempted to teach everyone a complicated dance. Freya filmed his failure.

Felix and Bridget slow-danced under the stars.

Mica and Calix attempted to climb something. They were stopped.

Tita Gemma cried approximately seventeen more times.

Tito Rachel opened the good wine.

Kuya Angelo danced with Ion again, both of them serene among the chaos.

---

Jay and Keifer slipped away for a moment.

Just the two of them.

Standing under the stars, looking back at the lights, the music, the people they loved.

"We did it," she whispered.

"We did it."

"We're married."

"We're married." He kissed her softly. "Mr. and Mrs. Watson."

"I like the sound of that."

"Me too."

She looked back at the party. At their family. Their chaos. Their love.

"Look at them. All of them."

"Aries and Ella. Percy and Honey. C.N. and Rakii. Denzel and Grace. Calix and Mica. David and Freya. Akshi and Chethan now." She smiled. "And Shreya and Mithun... eventually."

"Soon."

"Hopefully."

"And Kuya Angelo and Ion."

"That was a surprise."

"A good one."

"The best."

Keifer pulled her close. "I love you, Mrs. Watson."

"I love you too, Mr. Watson. Until the end of the universe."

"Until scientists find it and then keep going."

---

They kissed.

And behind them, the party continued.

Love everywhere.

Chaos everywhere.

Family everywhere.

Perfect.

Yuri captured one last shot—the happy couple kissing, the party behind them, the stars above.

"Perfect ending," he whispered to himself. "Best wedding ever."
