"Duke, you need to know that we are artisans, we must believe in science!"
Colin's face was as black as a pot lid. Looking at the qingniao amulet in Duke's hand, he said angrily, "And not mess with these supernatural things!"
"An artisan can only believe in the hammer and wrench in his hand, and of course, a screwdriver too!"
"Such a boring old fogey."
As Janna's voice echoed in Duke's ears, his smile remained unchanged, as if he was used to being spat on and letting it dry. "It's free anyway, so try a little!"
"You little brat, saying things like that again! Do you believe I'll punch you?"
Janna's angry voice echoed in Duke's ears. Duke ignored the crazy woman's nagging and continued to promote the qingniao amulet in his hand. He wanted to conduct an experiment, an experiment that could turn Janna, this crazy woman, into a labor force.
"Dad, it sounds really interesting! Why don't we give it a try?"
Orianna jumped out from behind Colin, looking at the qingniao amulet in Duke's hand with excitement. Colin looked at Duke, who had an 'Amway' expression, and his daughter, who was making a ruckus and loving the excitement. He snorted, "You two can make a fuss on your own!"
Colin, huffing with anger, turned and went upstairs, leaving the hall. Duke looked at Orianna and handed her the amulet. "Do you want to try praying to Janna?"
"Will it really work?" Orianna's face showed a hint of suspicion. Her previous actions were clearly just to help Duke out of a pickle. Duke nodded, "It's true!"
"I'll let you witness a miracle right now!"
Duke held the qingniao amulet, closed his eyes, and began to pray.
"Bluebird soaring freely in the mist, please guide my way forward!"
No response!
"Guardian god of Zaun, embodiment of the Winds of Change, I, your devout follower, pray to you. Please guide my way forward!"
Still no response!
"I offer my body, I offer my spirit. May my soul still drift with the wind after death. Embodiment of Wind, hear my call!"
Damn it, so uncooperative?
In the void, Janna, her form concealed, floated in mid-air, surrounded by clear breezes, happily watching Duke's predicament.
"Is this the miracle you were talking about?" Orianna watched Duke muttering some particularly'shamanistic' words. Duke waved his hand, "Don't disturb me, I feel like I'm about to contact that one!"
"Oh!"
Orianna said no more, but the teasing and doubt in her eyes grew stronger.
At the staircase on the second floor, Colin heard the mumbling prayers from below and snorted impatiently, "You little brat, if you dare to lead Orianna astray, I'll kill you!"
"When the wind comes, I will hold my breath and feel the rage of the storm. Please answer my call, Storm's Fury!"
Still so uncooperative?
"Broom-head goddess, your mother is dead!"
Duke opened his eyes and cursed. In the void, a vein bulged on Janna's forehead, and she punched down.
"I've lived this long, and this is the first time I've met such a rude follower!"
Thud!
Duke, who was slapped hard by a strong gust of wind, hit his head heavily against the wall. Orianna, however, couldn't mock Duke at the moment. She covered her mouth with both hands, looking astonished at the mid-air in the hall.
In the hall of Colin Workshop, wind spontaneously generated in the void. Under the illumination of the light, the flow of the wind was so clearly visible. Orianna and Colin, who was hidden at the staircase on the second floor, only saw a strong wind howling in the hall, and a figure dressed in light gauze slowly coalesced into shape.
Colin, with a dazed look, subconsciously walked down a few steps, reaching the staircase landing, his eyes filled with incredulous shock.
"Janna....."
Orianna's eyes were filled with adoration and fervor; Janna's long hair blew across her face in the wind, incredibly soft, as if telling someone, 'I'm not a broom-head.'
Looking at Duke, who was covering his forehead and gasping, Janna slowly waved her staff, and a light, ethereal voice echoed in their ears.
"Wind's Avatar, at your command!"
After Janna spoke her lines, Duke noticed that Orianna's eyes were shining brightly; if her gaze could materialize, little stars would be gushing out of her eyes.
"Wow!!!!"
Orianna shrieked and gesticulated wildly, imprinting Janna deeply into her mind. Colin slumped onto the stairs, his eyes filled with disbelief as his worldview shattered.
"She really... appeared...."
Janna smiled politely at Orianna, but her heart was filled with ecstasy.
How many years!
How many years had it been since she had seen such a fervent believer!?
When Orianna appeared, her personal faith surged like gushing oil, continuously pouring into Janna's body, making her exceptionally happy.
Even the old stick-in-the-mud in the hallway had faith power directed towards her, whereas the impolite brat's surging faith power wasn't even one percent of the old stick-in-the-mud's.
Such a kind, enthusiastic, and warm-hearted little girl was truly rare; she must be given special attention!
Her father, he could just be given a casual token.
"Child, the winds of change shall guide your path!"
As Janna raised her hand and pointed, two sky-blue bluebirds appeared beside her. One flew towards Orianna, and the other flew into the stairwell. The one that flew towards Orianna circled her once before landing in her palm, transforming into a qingniao amulet.
The other bluebird, of course, was self-explanatory!
After Janna gave Orianna a smile, she turned and transformed into a gentle breeze, disappearing. Janna's voice echoed in Duke's ears: "Considering you helped me preach, I won't hold what happened before against you!"
"Hmph, cheapskate!"
Duke mumbled, and before he could react, Orianna directly pounced on him, hugging his arm and saying, "Duke, what you said was true!"
"It's actually true, a god really exists, and she even bestowed a blessing upon me! I'm so happy!!"
"This is simply the best day of my life!"
Orianna's joyful voice made Colin, who was holding the qingniao amulet, feel a pang of sourness in his heart. Who took you to the theater to see the concert?
Silly girl, are you going to forget your father so quickly?
So unwilling to accept it!!
"Cough cough!"
Colin, who wanted to bite through his handkerchief, put away the qingniao amulet, coughed twice, and walked into the hall, feigning authority: "Alright, stop messing around!"
"It's getting late, and the neighbors are asleep. Don't shout and disturb them. You two should also go to rest quickly!"
"Okay, Dad!"
Orianna skipped upstairs to wash up, while Colin looked at Duke and waved his hand, "Go to bed early, and don't forget your entry for the competition; the Blue Lavender Manor's evaluation is coming soon!"
"Okay, Mr. Colin!"
Noticing the shape of a qingniao amulet in Colin's pocket, Duke didn't expose him, turned and went upstairs, muttering to himself, "Old tsundere!"
Seeing both of them go upstairs, Colin took out the qingniao amulet and began to pray. When he saw the clear breeze swirling around him, he excitedly clenched his fist.
"Praise Janna!!"
"Mr. Colin?"
Colin's body stiffened, and he turned his head to see Duke standing at the staircase entrance, looking at him with an amused expression.
"What's wrong?"
"I'd like to request to use the underground forge."
"Use it as you wish, now go rest!"
"Alrighty!"
Duke turned to go upstairs, but before leaving, he poked his head out and said with a chuckle, "Oh, by the way, Mr. Colin, you should pray a little quieter, or you'll disturb the neighbors!"
"Get lost!"
Colin took off his slipper and threw it out, while Duke laughed and ran up to the attic.
"Brat!"
Colin huffily picked up his slipper, but looking at the qingniao amulet in his hand, he couldn't help but feel excited. Divine favor, this was divine favor!!
Throughout history, how many people in Piltover had seen a god!!
"No, tomorrow I must build a shrine and pray to Goddess Janna every day. That way, I can give my family a little more protection!"
Muttering to himself, Colin held the qingniao amulet, turned off the light, and went upstairs, leaving only the circulating clear breeze in the hall.
"Good night, my believer!"
