Duke scratched the back of his neck and got up from the bed. Hearing movement inside the door, the room door opened, and servants filed in, bringing him his meal.
After eating, Duke finally saw the belated Dak'er.
Dak'er, carrying a leather suitcase, placed the case in front of Duke, opened it, and revealed twelve neatly arranged test tubes inside.
The deep blue solution, like profound seawater in the test tubes, sparkled in Duke's eyes. Dak'er placed the solution's formula and the wax paper design given by Camille into Duke's hands.
"This solution is a byproduct we accidentally created during our attempts to manufacture artificial Hextech Gems. It's called Hextech Solution, and it can perfectly fuse with magic to achieve the magical flow effect you desire."
"This is exactly what I wanted!"
Looking at the Hextech solution in the box, Duke's eyes shone brightly. Seeing his reaction, Dak'er couldn't help but curl her lips. "Besides the design schematics for the Hextech solution, there are also the schematics Grand Aunt gave you."
"Camille gave them to me?"
Duke found the wax paper schematics and stared at the blueprint, momentarily stunned.
These were precisely the design schematics for Camille's Hextech augmented heart.
"This is truly beautiful, astonishing, it completely overturns my imagination! My designs are so archaic compared to this blueprint!"
Duke found it hard to imagine that this was a product from over sixty years ago, especially in an era when technology was just beginning, for someone to have designed such a blueprint.
"The designer is a genius—no, a monster!"
"I've given you the items. What else do you need? I'll help you sort it out while I still have time."
"Nothing!"
Duke put away the blueprints, closed the box, and picked up the briefcase, about to leave, but Dak'er stopped him.
"Colin and his daughter from Colin Workshop, as well as that little blue-haired girl, have asked me many times what you're doing."
"Just stall them for me; I'm almost done."
"Also, just yesterday, Jayce Talis completed the Hextech Gem experimental demonstration, and the family plans to inject funds to help him develop Hextech."
"What does that have to do with me?!"
Duke showed no interest in Jayce's resurgence. If he were to list all the male heroes he currently knows, his interest in Viktor would still be greater than in Jayce.
"Alright, alright, my Inventor, sir!"
Dak'er covered her forehead and waved her hand, "Go on with your research!"
"Oh, right!" Duke threw Vali out of his inventory, pointed at him, and said, "Help me look after Vali for a few days. As long as you can wear him, you can use him!"
"Consider it my reward to you, Dak'er!"
Duke smiled, leaving Vali and Dak'er staring at each other, while he himself quickly left the guest room with the box and headed to the laboratory.
Dak'er sized up Vali and tentatively asked, "What do you want to do?"
"I want to go for a spin!"
Vali spoke very honestly. Dak'er, understanding his meaning, her eyes lit up, "Wait for me to change!"
A moment later, in the pavilion of the flower sea, Camille sensed something and looked up at the sky. A blue and red figure streaked across the sky, and the faint sounds of Dak'er's shouts could be heard.
"Oh, children!"
...
Inside the laboratory, Duke, with the newly acquired blueprints and Hextech solution, once again plunged into his experiment, and once he started, he couldn't stop.
In the blink of an eye, three days passed.
After Duke, who had been working non-stop, finished quenching the last component, he completed the assembly of the Hextech augmented heart.
He modified the blueprints Camille provided, incorporating his own designs, and single-handedly crafted all the components to prevent any leaks of information.
No one knew what he was doing here, except for Dak'er and Camille.
The final product was a core device two or three times larger than a fist, resembling a star surrounded by a Hextech ring, with the outer brass ring suspended by the Hextech energy field.
"It's complete!"
Duke exhaled a slight breath, his eyes filled with pleasant surprise.
Holding the Hextech enhancement core, he walked out of the casting room and into the workshop. Inside the workshop, besides the constantly deforming liquid metal, there was also a steel skeleton perfectly constructed with Clockwork Technology.
Conduits carrying Hextech solution infused with Petricite powder clung to the skeleton like blood vessels. There was a depression in the skeleton's chest, a space Duke had reserved for the Hextech core.
"Now, witness a miracle!"
Duke installed the Hextech core into the depression. With a soft click, the Hextech core was in place, and Duke connected all the conduits.
The Hextech core hummed, and the outer rotating rings began to spin automatically, while magic flowed into the Hextech solution.
The blue solution glowed, flowing like clear spring water through the conduits.
Duke watched the scene before him, excitedly approaching the liquid metal. He snapped his fingers and began the final work.
Fusion!
To perfectly fuse the liquid metal with the skeleton crafted from three different technologies!
The liquid metal flowed like water onto the skeleton, rapidly filling the gaps and enveloping the skeleton according to the program Duke had set beforehand.
In the blink of an eye, a majestic mechanical creature with a dragon's head appeared before Duke. The dragon's eyes were closed, and there was the sound of a heart beating inside its body. Upon closer inspection, one could also detect the sound of blood flowing.
Magic circulated endlessly within its body, and Hextech, Alchemy, and Clockwork Technology were perfectly integrated, forming its body.
"Awaken!"
Duke exhaled a breath speckled with blue light, which merged into the dragon-headed robot in front of him. Duke looked at it expectantly and said, "My first of the Seven original sin—Arrogance!"
Arrogance's eyelids trembled slightly, then opened to reveal a pair of deep blue eyes.
"Roar!!!!"
