Chapter 75 - Ch75 Shen Que, Nice-Looking Lips

Ch75 Shen Que, Nice-Looking Lips

"Ah!"

"Bang."

In the darkness, several people hadn't even processed what was happening before Meng Ci and Shen Que ended them with a single blade strike.

"What was that sound?"

"I... I think someone's beside me..."

The speaker's voice trailed off quickly, and they collapsed to the floor.

The scent of blood hung heavy, and the others finally realized enemies had slipped into the room amidst the chaos.

Chaos erupted.

The Bai Hu Hall men, blinded by the darkness, couldn't distinguish friend from foe. They began hacking at each other like headless flies.

Equipped with night vision goggles, Meng Ci and Shen Que could track their movements, swiftly eliminating most of the attackers.

"Damn it, show your face if you've got the guts!"

"Let's fight fair and square! What kind of dirty trick is this!"

Brother Hu roared helplessly, swinging his broadsword wildly only to accidentally cut down two of his own men.

Flinging the cigar clamped between his teeth to the floor, Brother Hu drew a pistol from inside his clothes.

"Bang! Bang!"

The two gunshots silenced the crowd, freezing them in place.

"Damn it! Get this place lit up!" Brother Hu tried to command his men.

But the room was pitch-black, and the constant threat of death. meant no one was willing to move.

Meng Ci and Shen Que worked in perfect sync, not killing Brother Hu immediately but systematically eliminating his men one by one.

Now blinded, Brother Hu's lethal weapon was useless.

Bang, bang, bang-three shots hit either the glass or the wall.

After firing five rounds, the gun was useless. Enraged, Brother Hu flung it aside.

Besides Brother Hu's few associates, there were seven or eight young women present. Meng Ci and Shen Que did not harm them..

"Ah! Help!"

"Bang!"

The banquet hall erupted with chaos-women's screams, the crash of objects shattering on the floor...

Some, sensing danger, leaped out the windows.

Soon, only Brother Hu remained in the banquet hall, along with the few young men and women.

Brother Hu proved worthy of his leadership role-not only was he burly, but he was also quite skilled. Yet, in the darkness, he couldn't effectively fight back and was ultimately killed by Meng Ci and Shen Que.

With the Bai Hu Hall here, there must be valuable goods. Meng Ci lowered his voice.

"Everyone, leave this hotel within ten minutes."

"Or you'll meet the same fate as them!"

Hearing this, the surviving youths rushed downstairs.

The assault boats and kayaks were stored on the sixth floor. Familiar with the layout, the group quickly paddled the wobbly rubber boat away.

Meng Ci and Shen Que waited twenty minutes, thoroughly searching both floors of the hotel Inside and out, even checking the staircase leading to the fifth floor. Satisfied no one remained, they relaxed.

Under cover of night, they decided to hurry back with their supplies.

Generators were common in several rooms, but too heavy to carry, so they left them behind.

Diesel and gasoline were essential and definitely taken.

Bread, instant noodles, various canned fish and beef-even half a pork leg discovered in a seventh-floor room.

Flour, rice, and assorted dried goods.

Meng Ci and Shen Que each grabbed an inflatable boat, using the cover of night to move everything back to their previous building.

Afterward, they changed into clean clothes, spread the bedding they'd taken from the hotel on the floor, secured all doors and windows, and slept.

At six o'clock, they secretly moved some supplies back to the seventeenth floor.

Then the two men paddled the assault boat back to the storage spot, pulled the curtains tight, and watched for anyone heading toward the Bai Hu Hall.

"Shen Que, do you think we'll have a fierce battle today?"

Maybe those young boys and girls we released last night got captured by other gangs, who'll bring reinforcements to Bai Hu Hall.

Or they might run into patrolling soldiers, tell them about indiscriminate killings, and bring the military here.

"No idea!" Shen Que leaned against the wall, eyes closed but alert.

"If you're sleepy, rest for a bit. I'll keep watch here."

"I'll sleep after you wake up," Meng Ci said thoughtfully, noticing Shen Que's weary expression.

"Mm." Shen Que accepted without hesitation. His mind felt foggy, and he soon drifted off.

Meng Ci kept watch for any suspicious figures outside, so he didn't pay further attention to Shen Que.

By past midnight, Meng Ci felt hungry and decided to wake Shen Que so he could eat before sleeping again.

But when he turned back, he saw an abnormal flush spreading across Shen Que's face.

"Shen Que! Shen Que!"

Meng Ci called out several times, only receiving Shen Que's drowsy response before he fell back asleep.

Meng Ci touched Shen Que's forehead!

Good heavens! How could his fever be this high?

Meng Ci checked the items brought back yesterday but

He lit the stove, poured a bottle of mineral water to heat.

He applied a cold patch to Shen Que's forehead, helped him lie down, and covered him with several blankets.

Once the water warmed, Meng Ci poured some into a disposable cup.

"Shen Que, Shen Que, wake up!"

"Time for medicine."

But Shen Que remained unresponsive.

Meng Ci had no choice but to pry his mouth open, stuff the Amoxicillin tablet inside, then force-feed him water.

"Swallow it, Shen Que."

Thankfully, though dazed, Shen Que could still understand and obediently swallowed.

Unsure if the amoxicillin was enough, Meng Ci mixed half a cup of cold medicine powder and forced it down Shen Que's throat.

Sitting beside him, watching Shen Que lying on the floor, Meng Ci sighed.

If only this guy couldn't swallow on his own, then I'd have an excuse to feed him mouth-to-mouth.

The thought crossed Meng Ci's mind, and he slapped his forehead.

What kind of time is this to be thinking about such things!

After scolding himself, Meng Ci pulled out a spicy noodle dish, a cup of lychee milk, and a serving of rice from his spatial storage. He sat by the window, eating while keeping an eye on the situation outside.

After finishing his meal, Meng Ci tossed the items directly into the water to dispose of the evidence.

Half an hour later, he checked Shen Que's temperature and wiped away his sweat with a damp wipe.

By past four in the afternoon, Shen Que still showed no signs of waking up. Meng Ci began to wonder if the guy had simply passed out from hunger.

"Shen Que, Shen Que? Wanna wake up and eat something?"

Still no response. Meng Ci sighed, sitting down on the floor.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw Shen Que's lips.

Those lips looked pretty nice. If he kissed them, he probably wouldn't get caught!

"Shen Que? Shen Que?" Meng Ci bent down and called out twice more.
