Ch101 - Hey, I'm Not Disabled!

"When did you build this?" Meng Ci asked, bewildered.

The bed that had once stood there was now gone.

In its place was a brick-built heated bed. Near the wardrobe, stacks of firewood lay ready, and the stove opening here blazed with a vigorous fire.

Judging by the bed, the construction must have been quite an undertaking.

Shen Que explained, "I started working on it before the blizzard."

In his previous life, Shen Que had lain in his cold bed, wishing for a heated brick bed.

After rebirth, Shen Que had specifically traveled north to learn brick bed construction.

Upon returning, he bought the necessary tools.

As the blizzard approached, Shen Que retrieved bricks and cement from his spatial pocket.

He chopped apart the bed he'd been sleeping on with an axe, then began building the kang.

However, after it was finished, Shen Que only used it twice.

Today, Shen Que had other ideas. He refurbished it, lit the kang, and only then went to find Meng Ci.

Meng Ci sat on the kang and felt its warmth.

"This kang is just wonderful."

Not only was the bed warm, but the entire room radiated heat-truly superior to the stove in his living room.

It was a pity the bricks and sand he'd saved earlier had been used for the walls; otherwise, he'd have built one for his own room too.

"If you like it, you can stay here every night from now on," Shen Que said earnestly, his gaze fixed on Meng Ci.

"That wouldn't be right," Meng Ci hesitated.

If he slept here, Shen Que would have nowhere to rest.

Taking someone else's nest-that really wouldn't be right.

Meng Ci propped himself up and slid deeper into the bed, wanting to savor the warmth of the heated brick bed a little longer.

Then, he felt something sharp poking him underneath.

Meng Ci didn't hesitate. He lifted the quilt, eager to see what Shen Que had hidden there.

The moment he saw it, his face flushed bright red.

"Wh-what are you doing putting that here?" Meng Ci hastily pulled the quilt back down, covering whatever lay beneath.

And it was right next to a bottle of hand cream.

No wonder Shen Que had such flawless skin-the guy was meticulous, even in the apocalypse he didn't forget to moisturize his hands.

When Meng Ci looked up, Shen Que had silently approached him.

"Is it okay?" Shen Que's ears were flushed, his gaze intensely affectionate.

Meng Ci didn't hesitate, simply nodding.

He'd been craving Shen Que's body for ages anyway.

Meng Ci reached to lift the blanket and retrieve the item.

If Shen Que couldn't do it, then he would.

But Shen Que didn't give Meng Ci the chance.

Soon, Meng Ci felt the bed beneath him wasn't a bed at all, but a ship.

Rocking back and forth, the motion made Meng Ci's mind grow hazy.

"Meng Ci."

"Xiao Ci, Xiao CI!"

When he woke up the next morning, Meng Ci couldn't immediately recall what had happened the night before. As he tried to roll over, excruciating pain shot through his entire body.

Only when his mind cleared did he remember the events of the previous night.

A blush slowly spread across Meng Ci's cheeks.

Thud.

The door opened, and Shen Que walked in.

Embarrassed, Meng Ci immediately burrowed deeper under the covers.

After two minutes of waiting, Meng Ci finally heard Shen Que's voice.

"Xiao Ci, get up and eat."

Meng Ci didn't move.

And what the hell was "Xiao Ci"?

That sounded like an elder's nickname, didn't it?

Moments later, Meng Ci felt Shen Que climb into bed.

"Hungry? Get up and eat."

Shen Que lifted the covers, his gaze gentle.

"Oh!" Meng Ci finally emerged, still hesitant.

A small table had been placed beside the bed, holding a tray with a bowl of congee, a plate of stir-fried potato shreds, a bowl of tomato fish soup, and two scallion pancakes.

The aroma was irresistible, making the famished Meng Ci want to devour everything in sight. As soon as Shen Que moved the table closer, Meng Ci

eagerly reached for the spoon to dig in.

But Shen Que snatched the spoon away.

Meng Ci stared at Shen Que in disbelief.

What the hell was this guy playing at?

After making him work so hard last night, now he wouldn't even let him eat?

However, Shen Que's next action shattered Meng Ci's suspicions.

Shen Que scooped a spoonful of porridge, blew on it with his own mouth, then held it to Meng Ci's lips.

Meng Ci's face twisted in slight disgust.

After all, with Shen Que blowing on it, the porridge was surely covered in his saliva. He couldn't bring himself to swallow it.

"What? Disgusted?" Shen Que asked, puzzled.

"Disgust won't help. You're eating this bowl of porridge this way, after last night, you're too tired." Shen Que declared imperiously.

The mention of last night made Meng Ci feel embarrassed all over again.

Meng Ci had no choice but to open his mouth and eat.

After the first bite came the second.

As he ate, Meng Ci grumbled inwardly. Being fed like this by Shen Que made him feel like a cripple.

Even the scallion pancake was crumbled by Shen Que, who fed him piece by piece.

"Are you staying here or going back?" After the meal, Shen Que moved the small table aside and asked.

Shen Que's kang bed stretched over two meters long. Last night, Meng Ci had been tossed and turned on that end before Shen Que finally moved him to this side afterward.

Meng Ci stared at the kang, his mind slow to process.

Could this bed really be this big just so Shen Que could have his way with him?

Otherwise, why would he need such a large bed for just one person?

"Xiao Ci?" Shen Que asked, puzzled.

Meng Ci snapped back to reality. "Take me to my room."

Staying here would only remind him of last night.

"Alright," Shen Que replied.

"I'll fetch some clothes. Wait here a moment," Shen Que said, turning to leave the room.

"Mhm," Meng Ci replied, watching Shen Que's retreating figure with a flicker of anticipation.

After all, his current state made going out impossible. Better to change into clean clothes quickly.

With that thought, Meng Ci began shifting his body, trying to remove his soiled clothes.

Just then, the door swung open abruptly as Shen Que entered. Seeing Meng Ci kneeling on the floor, struggling to move, he gasped in surprise. "Why are you down here?"

He hastily tossed the clothes he was holding aside, strode forward, and lifted Meng Ci back onto the bed.

Meng Ci's eyes widened in astonishment as he stared at the man before him.

Shen Que didn't notice Meng Ci's unusual state. He assumed Meng Ci was simply eager to return home, which was why he'd rushed to get out of bed.

So, he picked up the clothes and gently helped Meng Ci put them on, his movements soft and practiced.

Meng Ci lay quietly on the bed, feeling Shen Que's attentive care.

Though the physical pain remained unbearable, his mood gradually calmed.

Perhaps this was life-always filled with sweetness, bitterness, joy, and sorrow, leaving one with profound reflections.

After dressing him, Shen Que gently lifted Meng Ci and said, "Hold on tight!" Meng Ci immediately wrapped his arms around Shen Que's neck, fearing he might slip and fall.

Shen Que carried Meng Ci steadily out the door. Sunlight bathed them both, making
