Chapter 171: Here, Take This. You Can Use It to Exchange for Whatever You Want
"However, it's actually a good thing for us that Uncle Liang is taking care of Zhao Jingyu."
Meng Ci suddenly realized that on the night of the fourth day, they were going to drive away to avoid the earthquake. He had been troubled about finding an excuse to get Liang Xiu to go out and wander with them for a few days.
Now that Liang Xiu is taking care of Zhao Jingyu, there's no need to come up with an excuse anymore.
Shen Que nodded.
The two returned to West Mountain Wilderness and didn't rush back to Villa No. 8, but instead went to Villa No. 6.
Opening the villa door, the two walked in.
The eggplant, which had been digging a hole, heard the sound and hurriedly went over to show off the hole it had dug to Meng Ci and Shen Que.
"Really impressive!" Meng Ci patted Eggplant's head and took the opportunity to feed it a sausage.
Then Meng Ci and Shen Que took hoes and started digging a hole.
Since Liang Xiu and the others had things to do, the task of cleaning up fell on Meng Ci and Shen Que.
After all, it wouldn't be appropriate to just leave these bodies outside.
And with the hot weather, they might start to stink in less than two days.
For now, they could only dig a hole to bury the bodies and then throw some feces and urine on top to mask the smell.
They could only hope that after the earthquake, the people on the mountain would move away and not discover these bodies.
At first, Meng Ci considered throwing the bodies into his space and disposing of them somewhere else later.
But looking at the blood-stained bodies, Meng Ci was too disgusted.
So they had no choice but to dig a hole and bury the bodies.
It took Meng Ci and Shen Que over two hours of hard digging to create a large hole, into which they threw the bodies and then covered them up.
Before leaving, Meng Ci thought about going into Villa No. 6 to see if they could find anything valuable.
But then he remembered that the villa had been occupied by those people for two days, and all the good stuff inside had probably been taken or eaten, so he turned around, locked the door, and went home.
The two humans and one dog took a shower.
While Liang Xiu was away, Meng Ci took out a lot of delicious food from his space: braised prawns, braised pork trotters, shredded cabbage, stuffed green peppers, and a bowl of seaweed and prawn balls soup.
Having worked hard all night, the two ate everything clean.
After throwing the trash into the space, Meng Ci and Shen Que spent half an hour digesting the food before going to bed.
They woke up again around one or two in the afternoon.
Meng Ci looked around the house and put important things like flower pots into the space, then locked the door to prevent Liang Xiu, who might return unexpectedly, from discovering anything.
He also helped Liang Xiu pack a few sets of spare clothes, waiting until night to leave by car.
He just hoped that the vegetables they had planted outside wouldn't be affected by the earthquake.
For dinner, Meng Ci took cold skin noodles, meat sandwiches, and a few grilled skewers out of his space, along with cola chilled with ice cubes. Meng Ci ate happily.
Knowing that Shen Que didn't like cola, Meng Ci gave him a can of iced beer.
By the time it was a little after eight in the evening, the two drove out.
They made their way to the hospital.
Since hospital stays now required spending points, many people avoided hospitalization whenever possible, making it easy to find out Zhao Jingyu's ward.
In the three-bed ward, only Zhao Jingyu was staying there.
In the ward, Zhao Jingyu, with a bruised eye and his head shaved, lay in bed, staring around boredly. When he saw Meng Ci and Shen Que, his eyes lit up.
"What are you guys doing here?" It seemed like he thought he had been too enthusiastic, so he made his tone more indifferent.
"I heard from Liang Xiu that you saved me!"
"Thank you."
Meng Ci was quite surprised to hear Zhao Jingyu thanking him.
After all, this guy used to carry himself with an air of superiority.
Seeing Zhao Jingyu's IV drip, Meng Ci figured it was from the batch he had given to the hospital earlier.
"No problem." Meng Ci placed the things he was holding on the makeshift table at the foot of the bed.
"Where's Uncle Liang?"
Zhao Jingyu said, "He went to get food."
Not sure what made him think of it, Zhao Jingyu stretched out his hand that wasn't being used for the IV and fumbled under his pillow. He then took out a points card and handed it to Meng Ci and Shen Que.
"I can't repay you for saving my life."
"Take this points card. You can use it to exchange for whatever you want. Don't be polite."
Seeing that Meng Ci and Shen Que didn't take it, Zhao Jingyu didn't pull his hand back either.
"Rest assured, this card has nearly 100,000 points, which should be more than enough for you to use."
Meng Ci was quite surprised when he heard this. He didn't expect Zhao Jingyu to have so many points.
It seemed that when Zhao Ting realized his life was coming to an end, he had made ample preparations for his foolish son.
As long as Zhao Jingyu didn't spend the points recklessly, it should last him for a while.
The reason those people didn't seize Zhao Jingyu's points card earlier was mainly because the card required a password and iris unlocking. Using someone else's points card illegally could lead to arrest if discovered, so those bodyguards only wanted the food in the basement.
Zhao Jingyu, reminded of this, pulled his hand back from reaching for the points card.
"I forgot that using the card requires iris authentication, but don't worry, once I'm better, I'll take you to buy what you need."
Meng Ci declined, "No need."
"We're helping because of Uncle Liang."
Seeing that Meng Ci truly didn't want it, Zhao Jingyu angrily slid the card under his pillow.
"Fine, if you don't want it, don't ask for a thank-you gift again in the future."
"Hmm." Meng Ci softly responded.
At that moment, Liang Xiu walked in with two meal boxes in hand and was quite surprised to see Meng Ci and Shen Que.
"Young Master."
"Son-in-Law."
Zhao Jingyu propped himself up to sit on the bed, even more surprised when he heard Liang Xiu's form of address for Meng Ci and Shen Que.
"What brings you here?"
Liang Xiu placed the meal boxes on the table, intending to pour water for Meng Ci and Shen Que, but realizing there were no suitable cups, he had to give up.
He then gestured for the two to sit on the other two hospital beds.
Meng Ci declined, "No need. We thought you'd be busy taking care of Zhao Jingyu, so we took the liberty of preparing some daily necessities for you."
Liang Xiu, having noticed the bag on the table, said, "Thank you, Young Master."
Seeing the food on the table, Liang Xiu asked, "Young Master, have you eaten?"
Meng Ci nodded, "Yes."
"There's one more thing, Uncle Liang. Shen Que and I discussed it, and since you'll be here taking care of Zhao Jingyu for the next few days..."
"Shen Que and I plan to drive around for a bit. If we find anything good, we can come back and exchange it for some points."
Liang Xiu, thinking about the scorching heat outside and the dangers posed by criminals, was concerned about the risk of going out, so he didn't agree.
He even took out his own points card and handed it to Meng Ci, offering for them to use it.
