Chapter 14 - 14. Raphael and life

Her eyes fluttered slowly, small rays of light leaked into her barely open eyes as she woke up. She put her hand on her head as she sat up, still partially asleep. ' Where was she ' she wondered moving the sheets that covered her. She moved around on her bed eventually reaching the edge. Her eyes flickering as the light flooded into them. Around her were shadowy figures staring at her, then, realization set in. She had fallen asleep, and in a flash she was wide awake. Her eyes scanning the surrounding, looking for any signs of familiarity. The chamber in which she laid in was white, with marble and shale refracting light in the distance. This place was similar to her throne room. Around her, the shadowy beings remained, but as she the light showed their forms and she fully woke up, she realised that they were angels. She had finally woken up completely and noticed all her surrounding. The angels' faces filled with relief as they slowly approached her.

" Milady we were worried about you. when Death entered your chambers with you in his arms we feared the worst had happened. You weren't moving and were pale so we panicked. Thankfully it seems as though you were just sleeping. " An angel said clearly relieved.

' how embarrassing ' she thought to herself as the image of death carrying her like a child filled her mind.

" Where is he? " She asked.

" My apologies milady I do not know. "

" Nevermind, its not important. I'll search for him myself. "

She slowly got off the bed, staggering ever so slightly. She had a splitting headache. She raised her hand sluggishly as it hovered over her head, her hands resting on her temple. Suddenly she noticed her shirt, it was torn. Then she looked all around her body. Her clothes were torn, stress tears in every corner of the clothes.

" Get me a mirror. " She said gesturing to one of the angels.

In a minute a full sized mirror was brought to her presence. Her eyes were filled with shock as she gazed over her self. She couldn't explain what had happened to her.

" Call Raphael immediately–"

" I'm already here. Death sent me a message. " Raphael said as he strolled through the doors.

" Leave us. " He said commanding power, as the angels bowed in respect before leaving.

After all the angels left he walked past her, strolling to her wardrobe.

" Can you please explain what's going on. My clothes are torn, my hair is a mess my face feels weird and my joints hurts. "

She had run to catch up to him and now she stood beside him, panting and waiting for an answer.

" I'm sure death has explained this to you by now. " He said searching through her clothes looking for something.

" No he hasn't. "

" Alright then. Wear these. " He said handing her a dress.

Tilting his head he gestured for her to get changed. She walked into a small area seperated from the rest and as she changed he spoke finally gratifying her questions.

" You are currently aging, just like this era of life you belong to. Your age depends on how long your era has lasted. You start out as a kid, and you'll grow and mature until you become an adult and die. Your death signifies the end of that era, and we wait to you are reborn in a new one, just like any other life. As it stands, you're in your prepubescent stage, or what the humans call a tween. That is the age equivalent of an eleven to thirteen year old. "

She emerged from changing, now wearing a dress that suited her perfectly.

" So this is normal? " She asked still curious.

" While it happened much sooner than I expected, it is still very much normal. Regardless of that, I'll be taking my leave now. "

" Where are you going? " She asked like a child waiting for a response from their mother.

She had cut Raphael off, standing in front of her, excitedly waiting for her response. Without even a glance, he turned around her, completely ignoring her. Raphael walked steadily until she left the room.

After a while it had finally dawned on her, there might be a possibility that Raphael was mad at her. She stood there, flabbergasted.
