Chapter 6 - the concrete colosseum

Chapter — First Day

Back in the present.

Morning light slipped through the tall windows of the Hades dormitory.

Isagani stood by the doorway, arms crossed, watching the boy sitting on the bed.

Navi.

Quiet. Still.

"Good morning, kid," Isagani said casually. "I've heard… you killed three police officers."

No reaction.

Isagani exhaled softly.

"If it were up to me, I'd have thrown you in prison already."

He paused, glancing at him.

"But it's not. Hades needs you. Maharlika needs you."

A beat of silence.

Navi finally spoke.

"…Where's my sword?"

Straight to the point.

Isagani raised a brow. "That's what you're worried about?"

"…Where. Is. My. Sword."

Yeah. This kid wasn't normal.

Isagani scratched the back of his head. "That sword… isn't just a weapon."

He leaned against the wall.

"It belonged to the Hernandez Clan. Those swords? They used to be human."

A pause.

"Turned into weapons by one of their own. And somehow…"

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"They kept their abilities."

Navi's fingers tightened slightly.

"…Where's my sword."

No interest. No shock.

Just that one question.

Isagani let out a small sigh.

"It's confiscated."

Silence.

"You're not getting it back until you graduate from Hades Academy."

He pushed himself off the wall.

"Until then, you'll be used by Hades. Missions. Training. Whatever they need."

His voice turned colder.

"And after that?"

A small pause.

"I'll personally make sure you're locked up."

Navi didn't respond.

He just sat there. Not because he didn't hear Isagani—but because his mind was still trapped in what had happened.

Then slowly…

He curled into himself.

His shoulders trembled.

Isagani blinked.

"…You serious?"

The boy was crying.

No sound. No drama.

Just quiet tears.

For a moment, Isagani didn't know what to say.

Then he looked away.

"…Be ready tomorrow," he muttered.

"Your first class starts."

He walked out.

The next day.

Isagani stood outside Navi's room, knocking once.

No answer.

"…Kid?"

He opened the door.

Empty.

The window slightly open.

Isagani stared for a second… then sighed.

"Yeah. Of course."

Moments later, inside the Hades Department.

Isagani pushed open the door to Mr. Quill's office.

"Mr. Quill. The kid's gone."

Quill didn't even look surprised.

"He escaped," Isagani added. "And he took the sword from inventory."

Quill calmly set his pen down.

"Don't panic, Isagani."

That annoyed him a little.

"I'm not panicking," Isagani muttered.

Quill gave a faint smile.

"I had someone tracking him the moment he stepped outside."

A pause.

"…You expected this?"

"Of course."

Navi's POV

The city felt… overwhelming.

Navi walked through the streets slowly, eyes wandering everywhere.

This was his first time seeing something like this.

Tall buildings.

Lights everywhere.

Massive screens flashing above him—like a modern colosseum of colors.

He stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, staring up.

"…What is this place…"
