As an existence sharing one soul across two bodies, Hysilens understood perfectly what had transpired. By utilizing her divine Authority as a Law Demigod, she had injected her own golden blood into the bodies of others.
This power alone was sufficient to transform ordinary humans into Chrysos Heirs.
However, even among Chrysos Heirs, there is a hierarchy. Closing the gap between levels is no simple feat.
Based on the current state of affairs in the world of Akame ga Kill!, the Chrysos Heirs can be divided into four distinct tiers:
T0: Cerydra and Hysilens. They are visitors from beyond this world and the source of all golden blood here. As two true Demigods, they represent a height that no other Chrysos Heir in this world can ever hope to reach.
T1: Esdeath. She not only consumed the seawater from Hysilens' body but also directly drank Cerydra's undiluted golden blood. Combined with her own natural genius, she is arguably the most powerful Chrysos Heir aside from the two creators.
T2: Individuals like Najenda. She drank Cerydra's golden blood directly without any dilution. Her strength should eventually reach the level of a standard Chrysos Heir from Amphoreus, possessing formidable talent and potential.
T3: The group from the recent banquet. Cerydra used golden blood diluted with pure water to transform a large number of people at once. Chrysos Heirs created through this method certainly cannot match Najenda's level, but they are still far superior to most masters in this world.
Though these individuals are weaker, the Imperator sees a strategic advantage: she is allowing her subordinates' bodies to gradually adapt to the golden blood. If they continue to consume it in the future, they can further unlock their potential and grow even stronger.
Naturally born Chrysos Heirs wouldn't face such limitations. However, since every Chrysos Heir in this world was "hand-crafted" by Cerydra using her Coreflame of Law, these developmental tiers are an inevitable side effect.
Returning to the present, the moment Hysilens activated her oceanic Authority, Esdeath instantly transformed into a Siren—a mermaid.
As a race of the sea, Sirens have almost no resistance against the power of the oceanic Authority. Esdeath's true form was forced out in an instant.
Fortunately, there were no bald monks nearby, or she might have been forced to "assist his cultivation"...
But while there were no monks, there was a certain black-haired beauty present.
Specifically, the one responsible for this entire situation.
"Mmm..."
Esdeath's face flushed a deep crimson. She looked as though she were yearning for something, yet she felt too embarrassed to speak.
Seeing this, Hysilens smiled and handed a cup of "water" to Esdeath.
"What is this?"
An unprecedented fragrance wafted toward her, immediately capturing all of Esdeath's attention. She snatched the cup of uniquely scented liquid and downed it in a single gulp.
"Delicious!"
"Lady Hysilens, what exactly is this?"
Esdeath was puzzled. She had stayed in this castle for quite some time; how had she never encountered something this wonderful to drink?
"It is a honey-brew from my homeland that I prepared myself... The taste is quite good, isn't it?"
"It's more than just good! If this were sold on the market, it would surely earn a fortune!"
"I'm glad you like it..."
Hysilens didn't elaborate further on the drink, instead shifting the topic back to business.
"Blue Fish, you should be able to sense that you are different from the other Chrysos Heirs, right?"
"Indeed. Aside from the Imperator and yourself, even if all the other Chrysos Heirs combined against me, they would be no match."
Esdeath possessed this level of self-awareness. She had witnessed the power of the other heirs and originally assumed her dominance was due to her own special talent. She believed she simply possessed that kind of genius—until Hysilens asked the question.
Since Lady Hysilens was bringing it up, there had to be other factors involved.
After Cerydra, the person Esdeath respected most was Hysilens; there was no reason for the knight to speak idly.
"Correct. Your current state was forged by both the Imperator and myself... because the power of two Demigods converges within your body!"
At those words, Esdeath's eyes widened in shock.
Two Demigods?
Cerydra's status as a Demigod had already spread throughout the world. While many remained skeptical, Esdeath knew it was the absolute truth.
She had assumed Cerydra was the only Demigod in existence. With this revelation from Hysilens, the lingering questions deep in Esdeath's heart finally unraveled.
"So you... are also a Demigod?"
"That is right, Blue Fish. Just as the Imperator seized the Authority of the Law Titan, I seized the Authority of the Ocean Titan. However, the focus of today is not that, but rather my race."
As she spoke, Hysilens draped her Siren tail over Esdeath's own, completing the first "entwining" of two Sirens.
"A mermaid?"
"A Siren!"
Hysilens gently stroked the scales on Esdeath's tail, making the girl blush. She then began to explain the previous circumstances.
"The Coreflame of Law that the Imperator uses could only turn you into a powerful Chrysos Heir; it could never grant you the power to become a Siren. The only explanation is because you drank the seawater from within me."
"First, you were injected with a portion of a Siren and an Ocean Demigod's body. Only afterward was the transformation completed by the dense golden blood. It simply followed the path toward my own nature."
Hysilens raised her head to look at the girl who was slightly smaller than her, her eyes reflecting an unprecedented level of seriousness.
"In other words, you have become my only kin in this world!"
In Amphoreus, the oceans had long since perished. Hysilens was virtually the last Siren left in existence.
She had no people, only herself.
But now, due to the accidental operations of Cerydra and Hysilens, she had gained a member of her family.
If this were the real Hysilens, she would likely feel a great deal of joy. Perhaps even the nihilism clinging to her would dissipate slightly.
"Thank you very much, Esdeath!"
Hysilens' soft body pulled the petite Esdeath into a gentle embrace, her face showing an inexpressible tenderness.
Though she wasn't the true Hysilens... at the very least, she could satisfy those lingering regrets from the past, even if only a little.
"I also thank you, Lady Hysilens. Without you and the Imperator, I fear I would never have reached this level in my entire life..."
"Heh, you actually have quite a lot of talent, Blue Fish," Hysilens' voice echoed in Esdeath's ear. "The Imperator and I have already discussed it; you still have plenty of room to grow. Therefore..."
"From now on, I will train you myself—until the day you can stand by the Imperator's side alongside me!"
