"Did Monokuma lie when he said it was random?" Hina asked me while we were running through the school.
"I don't know. About what?" I replied as I tried to keep up with her.
"Well, he said something about partner targets. If it was random, why did everyone get each other?" she continued.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well... your target is me, and my target is you." she explained.
I stopped for a while.
"Abu?" She also stopped her run as she came closer to me.
"What's wrong?" she asked. I shook my head.
"No-nothing. I just feel a kind of strange feeling about something I don't even know. But anyway, let's continue." I replied as I started running.
"W-wait!" she said as she quickened her steps.
---
"Abu. Your idea sucks." Monokuma warned me.
"Instead of suspicion, you raised their bonds! How would murder happen then?" He pulled my collar.
"I sincerely apologize, Jun- Monokuma." I answered.
"Gosh. I promise I will punish you with my own hands one day! Call the other students to the gymnasium. We have an announcement to make." he said as he left. Gone.
---
I went to Kyoko first. She was in the hallway.
"K- Kyoko!" I called to her.
"Yes?" she asked.
"M- Monokuma asked me to make an announcement." I replied.
"Call the others too." I added.
"Should I tell them?" she asked.
"Huh? What kind of question is that?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" I replied.
"Should I tell them, or keep the news?" she asked, splaying her arms wide and low. Ah, I see. I nodded.
"This is the time. You ready?" I asked. She nodded.
"Life is more important than all." she replied. Great.
"We have to save everyone, right?" she said. Right, I also have a plan to save as many lives as possible, including Junko Enoshima.
She doesn't deserve despair.
"Now let's split into two and unite in the gym." I told her as I started moving.
---
As the students finally arrived in the gymnasium, Monokuma appeared on the stage in front of all of us.
I arrived late because I had to make sure everyone attended the announcement.
"So what was it? The one you were about to tell us." Kyoko asked.
I moved inside as I closed the gymnasium door and joined the group.
I took a peek at Makoto. He was still so furious; I could see the hatred in him for Monokuma.
"I really have a terrible boredom due to the lack of the summon of the blackened." he said.
"So what am I saying? I will motivate you guys to turn one of you into being the blackened in a certain way!" he said, full of excitement.
"Motivation? Like that kind of video or something? Driving us to murder?" Makoto asked Monokuma.
"Drive you to murder? What a terrible thing to say!" Monokuma shouted.
"No matter what you do to us, we won't kill each other again! We won't!" Taka yelled as he clenched his fist.
But then, he was silenced as Monokuma shared the secret paper with Taka and the others.
"T- this!" Taka shouted.
"Your most embarrassing secret! If the blackened doesn't appear tomorrow, all your secrets will be revealed!"
"Oh, this one. Only thi- oich!" Toko screamed as Byakuya stepped on her foot.
"Byakuya!" Toko exclaimed.
"Don't screw things up." Byakuya told her. Everyone looked at each other and nodded. Do I need to explain? Well, no one knows when we'll die. Maybe tomorrow, maybe today. Only God knows.
So, I'll explain this.
Yes, I did leave a lot of notes in the secret room for Kyoko. One of them contains all the students' secrets and the order to reveal them. Other things include other pretty important information, including all of Junko's possibilities in motivating students to murder.
"We won't kill each other just because of that! Human lives matter more than secrets, right guys?!"
"Why don't we spill our secrets right now so there will be no murder motivation?" Makoto initiated the idea.
"Yeah!" Taka agreed.
"So, my embarrassing story is..." Taka began to speak.
"I am not into listening to that kind of thing! Nor do I want to tell!" Toko shouted.
"Neither do I, because it's unpleasant and impossible." Celeste added.
"I see this is unnecessary." Byakuya added.
"Even if Taka is the one who suggested it, I do not agree with that." Mondo added.
"W- what?! Why?!" Taka asked.
"C- Chihiro?" She, he shook his head.
That's right. No need to rush. Let Monokuma know this. Let him be predictable.
And, Monokuma declared nighttime.
Everyone went back to the dormitory to sleep after the decision to call it a day.
That's what I remembered before I slept. And when I woke up, I thought it would be a normal morning with Monokuma's announcement as usual.
But no.
I woke up exactly in the data center.
"H- huh?" I saw Junko there. This is an unexpected chance! I quickly rushed to Junko and caught her.
"A- Abu?!"
With a quick kyusho jitsu, I hit her nerves and she collapsed.
"Victory!" I yelled loudly.
"Phew. That was close. I can't believe I got this golden chance this fast. I thought I must gain your attention first, Enoshima. Or should I say, Monokuma?" I said to no one.
I took Junko's body and carried her.
One step, two steps, three steps.
Crack!
"H- huh?!" I protested in panic. I- I cannot move. Trapped.
I can feel something cold and long inside me. Not just one. Not just two. Not even three. I don't know; I cannot count them, impaling my body.
"T- this! Spear of-!" I gasped. It doesn't feel painful; it feels numb.
Junko suddenly woke up and giggled.
"E- Enoshima!" I called. I could taste the tang of iron in my mouth. Blood.
"I knew it." she said.
"The best way to fake hope is not to erase the memories, but to change the memory to see it as a third person." she laughed again.
"Abu. What a betrayal." she said.
"I was trying to save you! I-"
"Will you erase my memory and my fetish for despair? Well, I won't let you." she said.
"H- how did you?!" Oh. Did Kyoko just left all the notes in the secret room?!
She waved goodbye as she left the data room.
"U- ugh!" My head felt dizzy. I think I lost too much blood.
She smirked for a second.
"But I love the way you're loyal to me despite everything. Anyway, thanks, I guess. Your body will be of use to me. Maybe to kick Kirigiri Kyoko's butt."
Slam!
Dammit! I didn't even reach the biology laboratory! No, I hadn't even leave the data room!
"Fuck me."
