Elder Cassius glanced at the Patriarch, a quiet understand passing between them. The others were unaware of Seraph's mysterious backer and were full of suspicion—especially after seeing his inventions that helped win the Midnight War.
They were grateful to him, but that didn't mean they would just accept it calmly. Everyone wanted to protect their own interests, and they were wary of the young genius turning against them.
Patriarch Gomen reclined into his chair.
"You need not to worry. I know all about him." He said reassuringly.
However, this still didn't clear the suspicion in their hearts.
"But Patriarch. We really need to be…"
"Enough." Elder Cassius cut him off. "If the Patriarch says he knows all, what else are you afraid of? Stop being cowardly adults."
The other Elders immediately fell silent, unable to refute him. Seeing that, the Patriarch decided to call off the meeting.
