"Get on the horse, trouble," he said.
Evy tilted her head towards him as she planted her hand on her hips when he would not make a move to at least help her onto the horse.
Nathan watched her for a moment, unmoving, as though deliberately waiting for her to act on her own.
Evy huffed softly, narrowing her eyes at him. "You are going to stand there and watch me struggle?"
A faint hint of amusement flickered in his gaze.
"You are quite capable," he replied simply.
Evy scoffed under her breath, muttering something indistinct as she stepped closer to the horse. She placed one foot carefully on the stirrup, gripping the saddle as she tried to pull herself up.
It was not graceful. She struggled for a moment, her balance slightly off as she attempted to hoist herself higher.
Behind her, Nathan finally moved. His hand came up, steadily supporting her by the waist just enough to guide her upward.
