[Do you wish to view your stats, Host?]
Roman, with his mind still in complete unrest, couldn't give any more response than a "yes" to the system, and just immediately, a variety of neatly arranged information appeared on the interface in front of him.
[Host: Roman Rings.]
[Rank: F.]
[Level: 0 {0/300 EXP}.]
[Profession: All — You have received a Legendary Blessing, The Power of All-Profession Mastery. You shall be of all Professions. (You can check the special Profession stat at will).]
[Talent: Soulmancy — Carry out activities of a Soulmancer. One who has dominion over every soul he takes. Every living organism you kill shall belong to you. (You can check the special Talent stat at will).]
[Title: Monarch Of The Fallen — You are the king of the fallen. You get a 10000% chance to control every soul you have slain.]
[Attributes: STR: 3.0, AGI: 4.0, END: 1.5, PER: 2.0, INT: 1.5, CAR: 0.5.]
[Possessions: None.]
After going through every piece of information on the stats, Roman was left confused.
"Is this not supposed to come from the Badlands Status Panel? Why are you the one showing me this?"
Although there were some things he hadn't expected based on his knowledge about the BSP, he still knew that this information should have been coming from a different source, which was the authorised and widely known Badlands Status Panel that had yet to arrive since he was summoned.
[Infinite Dominion System has fused with the BSP. Because your Talent makes you an anomaly, you need the help of the system to stay hidden long enough.]
Roman forced a nod, not because he entirely understood, but because he got the fact that his talent was no ordinary thing.
In the academy, they had been lectured about every single Talent that Entrants had ever received on the Red Zenith, and never once had anyone mentioned or even briefly spoken about a Talent called Soulmancy.
As much as Roman was treating it as a minor talent because of his low standard, he still wanted to know more about it. And hearing the word "anomaly" only left him more curious, knowing that what it meant could actually be something quite weighty.
As for the Legendary Blessing that granted the ability to perform all Professions, he had no idea how he would pull that off, but he couldn't wait to see.
And the title, which was also strange to him, left him skeptical. But this was all about getting to see how they worked, right?
Roman couldn't wait to reach Blood Trail Outpost and start hunting. He was going to need a lot of money before the Entrants were given their first privilege to exit the Badlands.
The Privilege Day was the day when every Entrant that had entered the Badlands on the Day of the Red Zenith would be teleported back to the real world.
On that day, every Entrant would be asked whether they wanted to go back in as a complete and authorised Entrant, or whether they wanted to quit.
Most times, it had been reported that there were more quits than returns, especially in the last few decades where the Badlands had started to emit some strange changes.
This would be happening in a week's time, so Roman would have to gather a lot to impress his parents. And he hoped he wouldn't be amongst those who quit.
...
Aside from the profession, talent and title, Roman figured that there were no other strange things on the stats.
He was embarrassed to see his Attributes, because even though it was understandable that a new Entrant could have low Attributes, he knew his were the worst of the worst.
He knew he would fall short if his Attributes were compared to those of other promising Entrants.
This was one of the things he figured he would focus on increasing at any cost once he started hunting.
"The Attributes are the backbone of every Entrant."
As the Attribute Science Professor back at the academy always said.
Roman knew he shouldn't take that line for granted.
Soon, the caravan came to a stop, and Norman urged everyone to step out.
Roman wondered why, because he couldn't see any building in sight, much less an entire community.
Once they had all stepped out, Norman turned to them.
"Now we walk down the valley. The outpost is just about three hundred metres away."
Hearing that, Roman's mind settled, and he gave a relieved nod.
While he noticed groups forming amongst the others, he decided to stay on his own, a comfortable distance behind them.
However, it didn't take long before a certain interface suddenly materialised in front of him, and this time it was the one he had been expecting.
[Once again, Welcome to the Badlands, Entrant 45611100.]
[You have been connected to your BSP.]
[Good luck on your journey in the land of opportunity!]
Roman finally let out the smile he had been holding back this entire time.
"Yes!"
"Yeah, woohoo!"
It appeared that the BSP had arrived at the same time for everyone, as the others stopped walking and quickly turned their attention to their own status panels.
Understanding the situation, Norman decided to give them time.
"Okay, you've got five minutes."
Roman checked his and discovered that the only difference between the BSP stats and the system stats were the talent and title.
On the Profession section, it read...
[Profession: Entrant 45611100 has yet to select a Profession.]
It was different, because the system had stated that he could use any Profession.
So with that understanding, he figured that if he chose a profession under the system stats, the profession he chose would then appear in the BSP.
Roman nodded.
Since he had nothing else to check on the stats, he went straight to the Badnet. A platform where everyone in the Badlands communicated and received information.
He went straight to the rankings first, where he saw figures that blew his mind.
[Top Ten Richest Entrants. Top Ten Strongest Entrants. Top Ten Most Popular Entrants. Top Ten Strongest Adventurer Groups and Guilds.]
There were a lot of rankings, however, the one he wanted to see first was the rank of the strongest Entrants.
[#1. Dracus Pendragon. SS Ranked Level 337. #2. Klein Beastfang. SS Ranked Level 214. #3. Lord Hemsworth. SS Ranked Level 214.]
Just the top three left him astonished, because he had heard how difficult it was to even rank up from F to E rank. There were cases where some Entrants would reach a certain rank and retire, and not simply because they wanted to, but because they knew that climbing any higher was nearly impossible for them.
Proprietor Eddan Ghosthead had retired at B Ranked Level 30, and he was still regarded as one of the most prominent and powerful figures in the entire nation.
What could one even say about the names sitting at the top of these rankings?
Even though it seemed so impossible, Roman hoped he would get to meet one of them someday.
"Okay, time's up. We've got to get moving. We don't want to be out here in the valley in the middle of the night."
Norman urged them to continue their journey, and no one dared to disobey, because they all knew that some monsters were twice as dangerous when it was dark.
It took close to thirty minutes before they spotted a settlement ahead.
[Location: Blood Trail Outpost in Blood Trail Valley.]
[Chances of Survival: 36%.]
This was from the system.
"A place with the same survival chances as my summoning percentage? Interesting," Roman muttered.
"Okay guys, we are here!" Norman announced as they reached the tall wooden gates.
And just at that same moment...
[Ranking Alert! Lord Hemsworth has surpassed Klein Beastfang to rank Second in the Strongest Entrants rankings with SS Ranked Level 215.]
And in the space of a second...
[Ranking Alert! Klein Beastfang has surpassed Lord Hemsworth to rank Second in the Strongest Entrants rankings with SS Ranked Level 215 and more EXP.]
Roman flinched.
It suddenly became very clear that these people were not playing around, because this...
This is what the Badlands is all about.
