Mark stood in the middle of the main room, his fingers tapping away at the screen of his work phone, which had been displaying an urgent notification for some time. His secretary had just reported an irregularity in the closing of an acquisition deal in London that required his signature and immediate presence. This urgent work matter was the only compelling reason for Mark to break his self-imposed isolation at home. He had to get to headquarters immediately before the stock market opened in an hour.
Mark walked over to the intercom panel mounted on the wall near the exit. He pressed the call button for the rear pavilion area.
"Arthur," Mark said when the connection was established.
"Get the Bentley ready. I have to head to the office right now!"
There was a long pause on the other end before Arthur's voice came through. "Y-yes, Mr. Mark. I'll get it ready immediately."
