Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – Behavioral Contagion

The fire wasn't the only thing that had changed.

The silence… felt different.

Heavier.

The humans sat around the flames as they had started to do.

But there was no rush.

No hands reaching out recklessly.

No struggle.

Just… waiting.

Adam remained where he always was.

Silent.

Watching.

The food was placed near the fire.

Scraps.

Not enough for everyone.

Their eyes shifted toward it.

Then… toward him.

Adam.

But this time—

He didn't move.

Moments passed.

Long, dragging seconds.

Hunger was there.

Clear.

One of them moved.

Slowly.

Not the strongest.

Not the weakest.

He approached the food.

Then stopped.

His eyes flicked toward Adam.

No reaction.

He hesitated.

Then… reached out.

Every body around him tensed.

Eyes widened.

But he didn't take the food for himself.

He paused… for a brief moment.

Then picked up a small piece.

He turned.

And handed it to someone else.

Someone weaker.

Sitting farther back.

Waiting.

The silence deepened.

The second man didn't move at first.

He looked at the food.

Then at the one offering it.

Then… he took it.

Slowly.

Something… shifted.

A third person moved.

He had been watching.

Carefully.

Then he did the same.

Picked up a piece.

Didn't eat it.

Passed it on.

Then another.

And another.

There were no words.

No signals.

But a pattern… began to form.

Hands no longer moved for hunger alone.

But for something else.

Something unseen.

Yet undeniably present.

Adam didn't move.

Didn't interfere.

He simply… watched.

Above them—

Orion was watching too.

But this time, his focus had shifted.

Not on an individual.

But on all of them.

"…Interesting."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"They're not just obeying him…"

He paused.

"They're copying him… and passing it on."

The silence returned.

But it wasn't the same.

It was no longer silence born of fear.

But something forming within it.

Something that could continue… even without him.

At that moment, the system interface appeared.

[Progress Registered: Beginning of Imitation]

[Divine Energy Increased]

[Divine Energy: 10]

Orion glanced at the number.

"Ten…"

Silence.

Then his gaze returned to Adam.

He was no longer just an individual.

He was… a starting point.

"good good. "

Orion's gaze drifted slightly, as if looking beyond the present moment.

"Not through him… but through them."

And once again—

Silence fell.

But this time…

It wasn't empty.
