142: Chapter 142 Failure! Cross-Dimensional InheritanceWithout even thinking, Natsu crossed his arms dismissively and refused decisively: "No way!"
Duke Aibal, with a fawning expression, still tried to persuade him, "Think about it again? The terms can be discussed further~"
Just then, Lucy's anger was reignited, and she angrily said, "You're saying it's a terrible book? How could that be?This is a work by author Cam Saleo!"
Duke Abel felt nauseous at the sight of Lucy, but considering she was, after all, a companion of that magical "maid," he pinched his nose and replied with disdain:
"That's right! It's a terrible book!We imprisoned that ungrateful Kem Saleo in the basement and made him write a book praising our great achievements and unparalleled beauty!"
I never expected him to produce such a terribly boring and awful book! It's truly a huge disappointment!
Lucy was even more furious upon hearing this: "What? You actually imprisoned Mr.Cam?Tell me!What did you do to him afterwards?"
Duke Abar shrugged indifferently and picked at his ear with his little finger: "Who knows?Maybe he's dead."
"I don't care whether a piece of trash like him, who can't even do something as simple as praising us, lives or dies."
Then he immediately switched to a sly expression and grinned at Natsu:
"So, little beauty?Have you made up your mind?I have a lot of 'goodies' here~" He rubbed his fingers meaningfully.
Natsu felt a chill run down his spine from the look and tone in his eyes, and quickly formed hand seals:
"Although I really want to punch you away! But."
"Well, I just happen to have a special trick for dealing with freaks like you.Time to test its power!"
"The Art of Harem Making - A Perverted Version!"
Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang.
Suddenly, a room full of strangely shaped and eccentric maids appeared, surrounding Duke Aibar and bombarding him with various visual shocks.
Although it was mostly limited by Natsu's imagination and was just a copy and minor adjustment of the previous seven templates, it was enough to excite Aibel to the extreme in terms of his aesthetic sense!
"Heavens.heaven.real heaven!"
Duke Aibar's eyes bulged out, blood gushed from his nose like a fountain, he cried out in bliss, and then fainted completely again.
Looking at this incredibly disgusting and ridiculous drawing of hell, Lucy felt nauseous and muttered:
"Ugh.You've managed to make such a disgusting use of such a powerful magic."
Happy nodded in agreement: "Love it!"
Natsu looked at Lucy, who was still clutching "Sunrise" tightly as if it were her lifeblood, and stroked his chin, saying:
"It seems.without some 'special' methods, I won't be able to get you to submit willingly."
Lucy took a step back, nervously protecting the book: "W-what do you want to do?"
Natsu gave a wicked smile, formed hand seals again, and shouted, "Harem Technique - Handsome Version!"
Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang.
In an instant, countless handsome men of different styles appeared around Lucy!
There were cool types, sunny types, gentle types, wild types. They all gazed at Lucy with deep affection.
"Ah.this, this is."
Lucy's gaze was instantly filled with countless beauties, her heart pounded wildly, her cheeks flushed, blood gushed uncontrollably from her nose, and her eyes turned into huge pink hearts!
"I'm so happy.so many handsome guys.it's heaven."
She murmured to herself, but finally couldn't resist the overwhelming "happiness" and her eyes rolled back as she fainted with a blissful, loving feeling.
Happy watched in astonishment, exclaiming, "Wow!That's amazing!"
Then, Natsu laboriously pulled "Sunrise" from Lucy's unconscious arms.
He let out a long sigh of relief, and flames rekindled in his hands: "Alright! Now it can finally be burned!"
However, just as his flame touched the book—
Buzz!
Suddenly, the book emitted a soft light, and a complex magic circle appeared out of thin air, enveloping the book!
The book floated into the air on its own, and the pages turned rapidly with a "whoosh" even without wind!
The words in the book seemed to come alive, each one leaping out from the pages.
The words, shimmering in the air, then began to rearrange and recombine rapidly, eventually flying back to the turning pages of the book like bees returning to their hive!
The light faded, the magic circle disappeared, and the book fell to the ground with a "thud".
Natsu caught it with lightning speed.By then, the title on the book cover had been completely changed. It was no longer "Sunrise" but "To My Dear Kirby".
"For my dear.Kirby?" Natsu looked at the drastically changed book and curiously flipped open it to take a look at its contents.
After reading only a few pages, his expression turned serious, and he fell into deep thought.

"Hmm."
After an unknown amount of time, Lucy, still half-asleep, felt something soft gently touching her face. She instinctively waved her hand and mumbled:
"Stop fooling around.I'm sleeping."
Just then, a loud and boisterous female voice suddenly rang out beside me: "Delicious!Another cup, please!"
With the sound of a glass slamming onto the bar, Mirajane's gentle voice followed: "Alright, Kana, you've had enough to drink today~"
The familiar ambient sounds instantly woke the drowsy Lucy!
When she looked up, she was surprised to see that she was actually lying on the bar counter of the Fairy Tail guild!
The creature that gently touched her face with its little hand was none other than Puru, the Canis Minor Celestial Spirit she had subdued that morning!
"Huh?What's going on?"
Lucy sat up straight in shock.Looking around blankly, the familiar noisy scene of the guild came into view.
She looked at Natsu, who was unusually silent beside her, and asked in confusion, "Natsu?Weren't we.still on a mission in Shiro City? Why are we back?"
Natsu's voice was low and unusually serious: "The mission.failed."
"W-What?The mission failed?"
Lucy stared in shock, her eyes wide."How could this be?The book was already found.Could it be a fake?"
Through Natsu's explanation, Lucy learned what happened next.
It turns out that the true nature of the book "Sunrise" was a letter filled with apology and paternal love left by the author Kem Saleo for his son, Kabi Monlo, who was the client.
The final magic was set up by Kem, and it would only be triggered when someone tried to destroy the book, revealing the true information and title.
After reading the contents, Natsu ultimately chose to return the book to the client, Kirby, instead of destroying it, thus the mission failed.
