The day of the competition finally arrived.
Aiko woke up early that morning. She felt a strange mix of excitement and nervousness. It was the first time she was going to show her artwork in a real competition.
She carefully prepared everything and checked her painting once again.
Before leaving, her dad looked at her and smiled.
Dad: "Don't be nervous. Just be yourself."
Her mom also encouraged her.
Mom: "Yes, just do your best. That's enough."
Aiko nodded and took a deep breath.
Soon she reached the venue where the competition was being held. The hall was filled with many artists and beautiful paintings displayed everywhere.
For a moment, Aiko felt a little overwhelmed.
There were so many talented people around her.
Aiko (thinking): "Everyone here is so good…"
But then she remembered Mika's words.
"If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will."
Slowly, her nervousness started turning into determination.
She placed her painting in the display area and stepped back quietly.
People started walking around, observing different artworks. Some judges were also carefully looking at each painting.
Time passed slowly.
Finally, it was time to announce the results.
All the participants gathered together. Aiko's heart was beating fast.
The host stepped forward with the results.
Host: "And the first prize goes to…"
For a moment, the entire hall became silent.
Host: "Aiko Tanaka."
Aiko froze.
She couldn't believe what she had just heard.
Mika, who had come to support her, immediately started cheering.
Mika: "Aiko! You did it!"
Aiko slowly walked toward the stage, still feeling like it was a dream.
As she accepted the award, one thing became clear.
This was only the beginning of her journey.
To be continued…
