Chapter 57 - Chapter 56: The Lady Appears

The atmosphere in the restaurant changed instantly.

Just moments ago, Jiang Chen had been polite and friendly toward the diners.

But in the next second, he had punched the approaching Fatui envoy straight out the door.

"Mikhail!"

Inside the restaurant, the remaining envoy, Lyudmila, cried out in shock.

The man who had been sent flying was her colleague, Mikhail.

"You… you actually dared to attack him?"

"You want to try too?"

Jiang Chen looked at her calmly.

Shing—

All around the restaurant, Fatui guards drew their weapons.

Jiang Chen didn't even bother reacting.

Standing in the middle of the hall, he said quietly,

"If you make trouble in the streets, that's one thing."

"But you dared to come into my restaurant and cause chaos—"

"And you even chose this place."

His gaze swept across them.

"Go ahead. Try attacking."

"If even one table gets broken…"

"Tomorrow morning, a Fatui corpse will be hanging at the harbor."

The threat in his voice was unmistakable.

"You—"

Lyudmila's expression changed.

This man was terrifying.

He dared to speak like that openly in front of everyone.

Technically, this was a public threat against a diplomatic envoy of a foreign nation.

But more importantly—

His strength was frightening.

None of them had even seen how Mikhail was sent flying.

"Regarding the injury of Envoy Mikhail," Lyudmila forced herself to say,

"The Fatui reserve the right to pursue legal responsibility."

"We will report this to the Knights of Favonius."

"This damages the diplomatic friendship between our two nations."

But the words had no real intimidation behind them.

Even the diners knew the truth.

The Knights of Favonius were unlikely to punish a local citizen over the Fatui.

The Fatui would simply have to swallow this humiliation—

Unless a real fight broke out here.

But if that happened, the Knights would have every reason to expel them from Mondstadt.

Only by sending someone strong enough to defeat Jiang Chen in single combat could they regain face.

"Disturbing my guests while they eat?"

Jiang Chen glanced at her coldly.

"If I hit someone for that, then I hit them."

Then he looked around at the other Fatui.

"And the rest of you."

"Do you want me to send you flying one by one?"

The Fatui had grown used to acting arrogantly in Mondstadt.

They had never met someone even more arrogant.

But the situation was against them.

Many of them glanced toward the door—

Hoping that someone outside would step in.

Lyudmila stayed where she was.

"We really did come to reserve the entire restaurant."

"Reservations must be made in advance."

Jiang Chen replied without even looking at her.

"Please leave."

Then he turned and walked toward the stairs.

He actually didn't want a fight inside the restaurant.

After all, anything destroyed here would be his own property.

Intimidation was enough.

The Arrival

Clap. Clap. Clap.

Suddenly, applause echoed from the doorway.

A mature, cold voice followed.

"Those who pay are guests."

"And travelers from afar are guests as well."

"I've heard the cuisine of Good Hunter is the finest in Mondstadt."

"Boss Jiang Chen…"

"Am I not worthy of a private reception?"

A beautiful woman stepped inside.

She had long pale-gold hair draped over her shoulders and wore a black half-veil.

Her elegant dress hugged her waist, with a fur shawl over her shoulders.

Her slender arms were covered by semi-transparent black gloves.

High heels clicked against the floor as she walked, her red-painted toenails shining under the light.

Despite her beauty—

Her cold expression carried an overwhelming queen-like aura.

Jiang Chen's pupils shrank slightly.

His hand tightened subtly on the stair railing.

If not for the system scanning her identity, he might not have believed it.

La Signora

Level: 20 (Divine Power Enhancement)

So you changed your usual outfit and came dressed like a noble lady today…

What exactly are you planning?

Inside the restaurant, every Fatui member lowered their head in respect.

Signora glanced around the room.

Then her crimson lips parted slightly.

"My subordinates seem to have gotten a little carried away."

"They caused such an unpleasant scene."

She turned to the diners.

"Tonight's dinner is on me."

"Please, everyone—return home."

Her voice carried an oddly compelling charm.

The diners hesitated and looked toward Jiang Chen.

He thought for a moment.

Then cupped his hands politely.

"Everyone, my apologies for tonight."

"Before leaving, remember to collect your Mora from the Fatui at the door."

He glanced at Signora.

Then added:

"You can report a higher amount if you like."

For a brief moment—

Signora's cold expression stiffened.

The diners struggled to hold back laughter as they left one by one.

Signora waved her hand.

Fatui guards quickly cleaned every table and chair.

Within minutes, the restaurant looked as pristine as it did every morning when it opened.

Then all the Fatui stepped outside to stand guard.

Signora looked at Jiang Chen with interest.

"Well, Boss Jiang Chen?"

"Are you satisfied with this attitude?"

"Hmm. Not bad."

Jiang Chen nodded.

"So… why did you come?"

Signora stood in the center of the hall, hands folded elegantly before her.

"Boss Jiang Chen…"

"Won't you ask my identity first?"

She avoided the question.

Jiang Chen leaned casually against the stairs.

"A guest is a guest."

"No matter their identity."

"With your attitude, you deserve a meal here."

Signora laughed softly.

"Very well."

She walked upstairs.

Without realizing it, Lumine and Paimon stepped aside to let her pass.

"This woman's aura is terrifying…"

Paimon whispered.

Signora walked to the best seat on the second floor—

A table Jiang Chen normally kept reserved for himself and never opened to customers.
