Chapter 24 - #23: So pitiful!

In the 33rd minute, Ajax led Feyenoord 1-0.

The Ajax players were greatly encouraged and launched a continuous offensive towards the Feyenoord goal.

One minute ~

Two minutes ~

Five minutes ~

Ten minutes ~

Ajax's attack never stopped, not only with long-range shots and aerial balls, but also several ground through passes into the penalty area.

Unfortunately, whether it was Sean or Bojan, their shots were all blocked by the Feyenoord defenders with great effort.

As time went on, Ajax eventually had no choice but to slow down the pace of the game and retreat slightly.

There was no other way; physical stamina had to be carefully distributed.

Feyenoord finally had time to organize their offense properly instead of just hasty counterattacks.

Unfortunately, the game also entered injury time, and the opportunities for them to equalize in the first half were still few.

So, it was understandable that they played a bit more simply and roughly.

Right-back Janmaat seized an opportunity to cross from the right wing at 45 degrees towards the Ajax goal.

Pellè, making a late run, squeezed past Ajax center-back Denswil to head the ball towards goal.

The angle was too central, and it went directly into the arms of Ajax goalkeeper Vermeer.

Vermeer immediately launched a hand throw.

Right-back Van Rhijn received the ball.

Feyenoord then initiated a high press in the attacking third.

Ajax's right-winger Klaassen immediately came under pressure from three opponents after receiving the ball, so he simply passed it back to the goalkeeper.

Sean's heart skipped a beat when he saw this.

Damn it, a thirty-meter low pass to your own goalkeeper, Klaassen, you've got guts!

Fortunately, the passing lane between Klaassen and Vermeer was clear enough, and Vermeer successfully received the ball.

But it also gave Feyenoord an opportunity.

Pellè sprinted at full speed towards Vermeer.

Vermeer made a diagonal pass, and the ball went to the left wing.

Sean's heart rate slowed slightly, and he turned to sprint towards the attacking third.

No wonder everyone is looking for ball-playing goalkeepers.

With high pressing so common now, if a goalkeeper's footwork isn't good and he can't participate well in the build-up play from the back, it's really hard to break down!

Now it's fine.

The ball was switched to the weak side, and Ajax successfully launched a counterattack.

The Feyenoord players also tracked back very quickly.

When Bojan was sprinting with the ball on the right wing in the attacking third, he was not only caught up by an opponent, but there was also an opposing defensive midfielder coming from ahead.

Bojan quickly made a cut-back pass to the center.

Klaassen flicked the ball to Sean.

Sean sent a through ball to the edge of the penalty area.

Sean moved forward sideways and ran towards the ball.

Feyenoord's Van Beek rushed over at full speed to block him.

Sean could only turn his body to first cut off Van Beek's running path, but his body posture also became Back to goal (back to the goal).

He could roughly touch the ball in front of him and Van Beek behind him at the same time.

What was worse was that other Feyenoord players were also closing in.

Sean didn't even have time to think, seeing a red and white shadow Insert (come) directly behind him, and his right ankle, which was moving towards the ball, immediately twisted.

Firmly holding off Van Beek, Sean wrapped the inside of his right foot around the ball and sent it backward.

Van Beek arrived with a large stride, pushing against Sean's back with force, leaving him no space to turn: "This time I defended in time, right?... Hmm?"

Why was there suddenly another roar around him?

Van Beek subconsciously looked back and just happened to see Bojan making an overlapping run towards his own goal, taking a shot as his own goalkeeper Mulder was rushing out.

The ball neatly went into the net.

Van Beek's face looked as if he had been punched, and he was completely stunned: "How did this happen?"

... "GOAL!!!"

"Bojan!"

"Bojan sprinted into the penalty area, receiving Sean's backheel pass and successfully scoring, extending Ajax's lead!"

"The first half is about to end, Ajax leads Feyenoord by two goals, wow ~ they already have one foot in the Dutch Cup quarterfinals."

"More importantly, this goal was so beautiful. Although it wasn't as breathtaking as Sean's bicycle kick, the fluid and seamless counterattack was enough to dampen Feyenoord's morale."

"Fortunately, the first half is about to end, otherwise I really doubt if Feyenoord would be swept away by a single wave."

"Haha ~ Let's watch the slow-motion replay again and appreciate this wonderful goal."

"First, they successfully broke the opponent's high press, then quickly advanced. Bojan passed the ball and immediately prepared to run into the penalty area, which was key to him getting a shooting opportunity.

After a few mistakes, his chemistry with Sean has clearly improved significantly."

"Bojan ran to the sideline to celebrate, then turned around and gave Sean a hug; clearly he knew he had to thank Sean."

"Sean's backheel pass was indeed the most crucial factor in this goal. The flashes of inspiration from talented players often decide matches, and Sean clearly no it wasn't a backheel!"

"It was an inside-of-the-foot push pass!"

"Woah woah woah woah oh ~ We know Sean is a genius, we've talked about his speed, explosiveness, tackling ability, even his stride frequency and performance ability. His previous bicycle kick showed us his flexibility and coordination, and now what?

Is it just a flash of inspiration?

No ~ Most likely, he originally only intended to receive the ball, but then he saw an opportunity and forcefully changed it into a pass backward!"

"What does this show? It can only show that Sean possesses extraordinary judgment and decisiveness!"

"Of course, his physical and technical abilities also support him in turning his judgment and decisiveness into reality, but what is most commendable is his uh thinking!"

"If physical qualities and technical abilities are the hardware, then thinking, that is, the ability to use his body and techniques, is the software. Top players, of course, need both, and Sean clearly possesses all the initial abilities to become a top player!"

"We most likely don't have to worry about him falling off in the future; Sean's future achievements will certainly not be low!"

"Poor Van Beek, he's not without ability, nor is he not trying, but he was just completely outplayed by Sean, nutmegged without even knowing it, truly too pitiful!!"

"Woah oh ~ This is truly something, let's watch the replay again..."

...The Ajax players, of course, wanted to score another goal while the momentum was with them, to completely end the game.

However, after Feyenoord restarted the game, the referee quickly blew the whistle for the end of the first half.

There was nothing that could be done; Ajax could only head to the locker room with a two-goal lead.

Sean took off his jersey and threw it on the ground. He wasn't in a hurry to change into a clean jersey, but instead leaned against the locker and let out a long breath, his heart rate gradually returning to normal.

There was no other way; it was too exciting.

Just thinking about it made his blood pump!

A bicycle kick, a pass from behind, woah oh ~

The feeling of doing whatever he wanted amidst the opponent's fierce resistance was simply amazing!

The Ajax players were equally excited, and many specifically walked past Sean to high-five him in celebration.

Frank de Boer walked into the locker room with a flushed face, clapped his hands, and excitedly shouted:

"Gentlemen, I must say, well done! Not just Sean, everyone did very well!"

"..."

"..."

After a series of praises, Frank de Boer changed his tone:

"Of course, as we all know, we have only initially taken control of the game. The most important thing now is to truly win the match."

"So, in the second half, we need to slow down the pace of the game..."

Hmm?

Sean snapped out of his excitement.

No,

He was going to slow down the pace already?

Then, could they still win by a large margin?!
