Chapter 30: A Dangerous Training
Obito looked at Wang and said in a calm but serious tone,
"Come on."
Wang looked at his father in surprise.
"Where's Mom?"
Obito replied,
"She's resting."
With that, Obito walked out of the room. Wang quietly followed behind his father.
After walking a few steps, Wang hesitantly asked,
"Dad, where are we going?"
Obito answered as he continued walking,
"To the Training Room. We're starting your training today. I'm sorry, son... you didn't get a chance to rest."
Wang didn't say anything. He simply continued walking behind his father.
After a while, they reached the same room where Obito had trained Wang earlier.
Obito opened the door and stepped inside. Wang followed him.
Obito closed the door from the inside.
The moment the door shut, Wang's body began to tremble involuntarily.
Memories of his previous training came rushing back to him. Fear was clearly visible on his face, but he quickly planted his feet firmly on the ground.
He didn't want his father to see how frightened he was.
Obito looked at Wang.
"Wang, today we're going to train you to control your inner air. But this time, we'll start very slowly. First, focus your power in one place and control your breathing."
Obito glanced toward the door for a few moments.
A thought crossed his mind.
If Rin wakes up, she'll come here immediately. I need to finish this training before that happens.
He then looked back at Wang.
"Let's begin."
With a slight sense of nervousness, Wang made a small wound on his finger. He immediately focused his attention on his inner air.
He closed his eyes.
His breathing was rapid.
He tried to feel the power within him.
For several moments, the only sound in the room was his breathing.
Then, slowly, his breathing began to return to normal.
He concentrated his inner air into a single point.
After a short while, the bleeding from the wound stopped.
Wang opened his eyes.
Obito nodded.
"Good."
Then Obito said seriously,
"Now prepare yourself for the next stage. This time, you'll have to make a larger wound on your palm."
The confidence immediately disappeared from Wang's face.
He looked at his palm.
At the thought of the next stage, his hands began trembling again.
He tried, but he couldn't move forward.
Obito noticed his condition.
"What's wrong, Wang? Why did you stop?"
Wang lowered his gaze.
His voice was trembling.
"Dad... I can't do it."
Obito fell silent.
Tears filled Wang's eyes.
"You know I can't handle pain..."
He tried to wipe away his tears.
"I can't do this, Dad. It hurts too much."
Seeing his son in such a state, Obito's eyes also became moist.
He knew Wang wasn't weak. The problem was that his previous training had left him deeply afraid of pain.
After thinking for a few moments, Obito slowly said,
"There's another way."
Wang immediately looked at his father.
Obito's expression was serious.
"But it's very dangerous."
Fear grew even stronger in Wang's eyes.
"How dangerous?"
Obito replied,
"With this method, you'll barely feel the pain. But if you lose your focus, your own power could become uncontrollable."
Wang listened silently.
Obito continued,
"In that situation, your life could be in danger."
Wang nervously asked,
"Will... it really not hurt?"
Obito nodded.
"I'll use my power to suppress your sensation of pain for a short period of time. During that time, you'll have to keep your entire focus on your inner air."
He paused for a moment.
"But remember, it will only last for a short time. If you panic, lose concentration, or lose control of your focus, your power could become uncontrollable."
Wang silently looked at his hand.
Obito continued,
"During this process, you'll feel your power becoming stronger than before. That means you'll be able to sense your inner air more intensely. But we'll only have one chance."
Wang asked fearfully,
"What if I fail?"
Obito's voice became even more serious.
"Then your inner air could become uncontrollable..."
He remained silent for a few moments.
"...and you could lose your life."
Complete silence filled the room.
Wang stared at his father.
Fear was clearly visible on his face.
Obito slowly approached him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Wang, don't be afraid."
Wang looked up at him.
"Focus with everything you have."
There was confidence in Obito's voice.
"I'm right here with you."
Wang wiped away his tears.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
Then another.
His heart was beating rapidly, but he tried to control his fear.
Obito began gathering his power.
Suddenly, the atmosphere in the room began to change.
A strange pressure filled the air.
Wang felt the power within his body.
He focused all his attention on his inner air.
Obito's eyes remained fixed on Wang.
He knew this was no longer just another stage of training.
It was a test that could determine whether his son remained safe. Even the slightest mistake could have dangerous consequences.
Wang controlled his breathing.
The power surrounding him began to move slowly.
Obito strengthened his own power.
"Focus, Wang..."
Clenching his teeth, Wang concentrated with all his strength on his inner air.
The atmosphere in the room grew even heavier.
Obito knew the real test was about to begin.
He thought to himself,
I have to keep him safe, no matter what.
Wang made one final attempt to control his power.
And at that very moment...
The energy inside the room suddenly began rising rapidly.
Obito's eyes widened.
This was the moment he had feared.
There was no turning back now.
