Miles away from the laboratory, several black armored vehicles sped through the darkness.
Inside the lead vehicle sat Alexander Knight.
His expression was colder than ice.
Daniel sat beside him, watching the digital map on the tablet.
"We're approaching the outer perimeter."
Alexander didn't look away from the road ahead.
"Security?"
"Heavy," Daniel admitted.
"There are at least forty armed guards."
Alexander remained silent.
Daniel glanced at him.
"You're really going to do this."
Alexander's answer was simple.
"They took my wife."
Behind them, several more vehicles followed.
Inside each one sat heavily trained operatives.
Men who rarely left the shadows.
Daniel sighed quietly.
"You know this could become international trouble."
Alexander finally spoke again.
"Then they shouldn't have touched her."
The vehicles slowed as they approached the dark forest surrounding the hidden facility.
Daniel looked at the screen again.
"We're five minutes away."
Alexander picked up his communication device.
"All teams, prepare for assault."
Several voices responded instantly.
"Team One ready."
"Team Two in position."
"Snipers ready."
Daniel shook his head.
"You really brought an army."
Alexander opened the car door as the vehicle stopped.
Cold night air rushed inside.
"This isn't an army."
He stepped out slowly.
"It's a rescue."
The team moved quickly through the forest, staying silent as shadows.
Soon the massive underground facility came into view.
High walls.
Security towers.
Armed guards everywhere.
Daniel whispered.
"This place is worse than I thought."
Alexander studied the layout carefully.
His eyes burned with determination.
"Emily is inside."
Daniel nodded.
"Then we bring her home."
Alexander raised his hand slightly.
The entire team froze, waiting for his signal.
For a moment, everything was silent.
Then—
"Move."
The assault began instantly.
Silenced gunshots echoed through the night.
Several guards dropped before they even realized what was happening.
Alarms suddenly exploded across the facility.
Red lights flashed everywhere.
Daniel ran beside Alexander.
"Well… subtlety lasted about ten seconds."
Alexander kicked open a security door.
"We're running out of time."
Inside the laboratory—
Emily heard the alarms.
Her heart began racing.
"What's happening?"
Voss stared at the security monitor.
His expression darkened.
"So he came after all."
Emily's eyes widened.
"Alexander?"
Voss smiled slowly.
"This just became far more interesting."
Emily felt hope surge through her chest.
But Voss leaned closer and whispered quietly.
"You should pray he reaches you in time."
Emily's heart skipped.
"What do you mean?"
Voss tapped the tablet again.
The machine beside her started powering up.
A much stronger pulse began building.
"You see," he said calmly.
"This next test might kill you."
Emily's blood ran cold.
Outside the facility—
Alexander broke through the final security door.
Daniel looked at the map again.
"She's just ahead."
Alexander's voice dropped dangerously.
"Emily…"
But deep inside the laboratory—
The machine began glowing brighter.
And Emily realized something terrifying.
The experiment was about to begin again.
