Chapter 1 - The Battle of the 13 Zodiacs

Long ago—before the stars were born, before even the heavens had a name—a single light emerged from the endless void.

It was not merely light.

It was existence itself.

From that brilliance came the origin of all things—the most powerful being in the entire multiverse.

Aetherion.

With immeasurable power, Aetherion shaped a massive world… a planet greater than any that would ever exist.

That world was called Earth.

In that primordial age, Earth stood as the center of the universe—the axis upon which all existence revolved.

To preserve the balance of the mystical forces surrounding the world, Aetherion created thirteen celestial beings.

They were known as the Zodiacs.

Each was entrusted with a sacred duty—to guard the world and maintain the order of magic.

The world itself was divided into thirteen vast continents, each ruled by a single Zodiac.

And for countless ages…

Peace endured.

But peace, no matter how long it lasts, is never eternal.

Slowly… quietly…

Greed began to take root in the hearts of the twelve Zodiacs.

The power granted to them by Aetherion—once a blessing—became insufficient in their eyes.

They craved more.

More strength.

More dominion.

More control.

Until at last… their desire turned into ambition.

And that ambition ignited a war.

A war so catastrophic that it shook the very foundation of existence itself.

This conflict would come to be known as—

The War of the Zodiacs.

Continents were shattered into ruin.

The heavens tore apart under the overwhelming strain of magic.

The seas raged violently, as if echoing the wrath of the gods themselves.

Amid this devastation, there was one who refused to take part.

The thirteenth Zodiac.

The sole guardian of light.

Emelyra Scarlet.

From the highest tower of her radiant kingdom, she watched the world collapse into chaos.

And in her heart…

There was only sorrow.

If this war continued…

Nothing would remain.

Desperate, she reached out to her fellow Zodiacs.

She pleaded.

She begged.

But her voice—once respected—was now met with nothing but mockery and anger.

To them, she was no longer a comrade.

She was an obstacle.

And so, they turned their blades toward her.

The battle that followed was merciless.

Even as she fought with all her might, Emelyra was wounded.

Her body trembled.

Her strength waned.

Yet… she did not yield.

With what little power remained, she cast a teleportation spell—vanishing from the battlefield in a flash of fading light.

She reappeared in a sacred place…

Hidden at the very heart of the world.

A forest untouched by time.

A place spoken of only in ancient whispers.

Inochi no Mori—

The Forest of Life.

At its center stood a colossal tree.

Ancient… eternal…

Older than the world itself.

The Tree of Adam.

Drawn by an unseen force, Emelyra stepped forward.

There, among its branches, hung a single fruit.

It radiated a divine, almost overwhelming light.

The Divine Fruit.

A forbidden relic.

Even the gods themselves dared not consume it.

For while it granted unimaginable power—amplifying one's strength a hundredfold—

It demanded a cruel price.

Death.

Even an immortal being would perish within thirteen hours.

Emelyra reached out, her trembling hand gently grasping the fruit.

A soft wind passed through the forest… as if the world itself was holding its breath.

She knew.

This choice… would end her life.

But if she turned away—

Everything would be lost.

Slowly, she closed her eyes.

A quiet resolve settled within her heart.

If this is what it takes… to save the world.

Without hesitation—

She took a bite.

In an instant—

Light erupted.

Blinding.

Overwhelming.

Uncontainable.

"A—ah…!"

She gasped, clutching her chest as pain surged through her entire body.

The power was too great.

Far beyond what her immortal vessel could withstand.

Her form was engulfed in a radiant white aura.

Her garments shimmered, transforming into something divine—woven from pure light itself.

Her long crimson hair flowed wildly, glowing as a red aura enveloped her.

Her very existence began to change.

She was no longer the being she once was.

In that moment—

She transcended.

Reborn…

As something far greater.

Her power surged endlessly, rivaling even that of Aetherion.

She had become—

The Goddess of Light.

Without delay, Emelyra ascended into the sky and flew toward the battlefield.

Her arrival was like the dawn of a new sun.

A brilliant radiance spread across the heavens—

And for the first time since the war began…

Everything stopped.

The Zodiacs froze.

Their eyes widened as they gazed upon her.

Fear.

Awe.

Envy.

All reflected within their expressions.

Then—

A sudden burst of laughter shattered the silence.

Leo stepped forward, his flames flickering wildly as amusement danced in his eyes.

"Hahaha… Emelyra," he scoffed, staring directly at her glowing form. "Do you really believe you can rival the power of Aetherion?"

His smirk deepened, sharp and mocking.

"How foolish. The moment you consumed the Divine Fruit… you lost your immortality. In thirteen hours—you're dead."

Silence answered him.

Emelyra simply looked at them.

Calm.

Unshaken.

"I know," she said softly.

Her voice carried across the battlefield like a gentle yet unbreakable force.

"But I did this… to stop you."

Her aura flared, growing brighter—stronger.

"You have broken the laws of the heavens," she continued, her gaze sweeping across them. "Greed has consumed you. This war… will destroy everything."

A brief pause.

Then—

"That is why I am here."

Her eyes hardened.

"To end this."

The Zodiacs erupted in fury.

Gemini stepped forward, disbelief twisting their expression.

"This cannot be…!"

Leo's flames roared violently as he pointed at her.

"You are no longer immortal!" he shouted. "We will kill you!"

For a moment—

Emelyra smiled.

A quiet, almost sorrowful smile.

"That is…" she murmured, slowly rising higher into the sky, "if you can stop me."

She lifted her right hand.

And then—

The world changed.

The heavens ignited with blinding light.

The earth trembled beneath an unseen force.

The winds howled like a raging storm.

A presence… vast and overwhelming… descended upon everything.

Below, panic spread among the Zodiacs.

"W-What is happening?!" Libra cried out, their voice trembling.

Capricorn stepped back, eyes wide with fear. "Emelyra…! What madness are you committing?!"

High above them—

She looked down.

No longer as a comrade.

But as a judge.

"You brought this upon yourselves," she declared, her voice echoing across the heavens. "You have broken the laws of the heavens… and allowed yourselves to be consumed by sin and greed."

She took a slow, steady breath.

Then—

She spoke her judgment.

"I am Emelyra Scarlet… the Goddess of Light."

The world seemed to hold still.

"And I shall punish you—"

Her eyes glowed with divine authority.

"—with eternal imprisonment in the cosmos."

Shock.

Fear.

Desperation.

"NO—!!" Gemini screamed.

But it was already too late.

Emelyra raised her hand higher.

Ancient power gathered around her—light intertwining with the very fabric of the heavens.

Then, with unwavering resolve—

She began her incantation.

"O sacred light that governs the heavens…

Power of the First Creation…

Hear the will of your faithful servant."

The skies responded.

Stars flickered violently.

The constellations themselves began to shift.

"Stars of the cosmos—bow before the light.

Constellations—return to your eternal prison."

The Zodiacs struggled.

But their bodies… would not move.

"By the authority of the heavens—

I command the Zodiac guardians…"

Her voice rose—

Absolute.

Unstoppable.

"Be sealed within the eternal sky!"

Light consumed everything.

"Heavenly Light Magic—"

The heavens shattered into brilliance.

"Celestial Zodiac Seal!"

And in that moment—

The sky itself became a prison of light.

Thus began the legend…

That would forever alter the fate of the world.
