"Kid… why are you smiling?" Lyle shouted, panic written all over his face. "We're gonna die!"
Rin wiped sweat from his brow. "I'm not smiling because we're dying… I'm smiling because this is actually fun."
The spear woman groaned, resting her spear against the floor. "Fun? You call nearly dying fun?"

The first boss swung its massive claw at him. Rin activated Double Shadow Step, disappearing midair. When he reappeared, he was behind the monster's leg. Quick Strike tore across its armor, leaving a deep gash.
The second boss lunged, now glowing purple with enraged energy. Rin activated Evasive Maneuver, rolling under its swinging claws. Sparks flew as stone legs scraped against the floor, leaving jagged cracks.
Lyle screamed from behind the shield man. "I swear, kid, you're insane! How are you not dead yet?!"
Rin smirked, activating Counter Strike. The enraged monster's attack collided with his sword. A shockwave sent it staggering backward. At the same time, the first boss reared up for a crushing blow. Rin's system prompted him:
