Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1 : REBORN

The last thing Ryan remembered… was the warmth of blood spilling through his fingers.

A flash of steel.A scream that might have been his own.

Then—darkness.

Ryan opened his eyes and found a nurse staring at him.

"Wait… where am I?"

He was confused by the sudden change of events. Earlier, he had been walking down the street after college, and the next moment, he was in a hospital with a futuristic design.

He looked around and noticed a cute black cat staring at him from outside the room through a glass window.

Before he could process anything, a flood of memories hit his mind.

His past life flashed before him.

In his previous life, he was an orphan who grew up on government subsidies, but he was exceptionally intelligent. Through scholarships and part-time jobs, "He got admission to one of the best universities in the world

Like any other day, he was heading to his rented apartment after college when he saw a thief snatching a bag from an elderly woman at knifepoint.

The thief ran toward him. Instinctively, Ryan stepped in front of him to stop him. But in panic, the thief stabbed him and fled.

Ryan collapsed, blood oozing from his stomach, while people watched.

His head felt heavy. His breathing grew shallow. His eyelids trembled.

The world blurred.

Voices echoed around him—but no one came closer. No one helped.

"So this is how it ends…"

Not with achievement.Not with pride.

Just… alone.

As the memories merged, Ryan suddenly found himself in the arms of a handsome, lean man.

Ryan looked up and saw piercing green eyes that seemed to hold a forest within them. The man had fair skin, silver hair, and a warm, fatherly smile.

As Ryan observed his surroundings, his attention shifted to a beautiful blonde woman lying on a bed. She looked exhausted but gazed at him with deep maternal love.

She took Ryan from the man's arms, held him gently, and lightly pinched his chubby cheeks.

"Ryan… Your name will be Ryan."

Hearing his name, a wave of exhaustion washed over him, and he fell asleep.

When Ryan woke up the next morning, he felt extremely hungry. His stomach was practically screaming, "Feed me! Feed me!"

The woman beside him approached and began breastfeeding him. Ryan felt embarrassed, but hunger won, and he gave in.

As he drank the milk, he felt a warm wave of energy flowing through his body.

After feeding him, the man approached the woman and asked,"Cynthia, are you feeling better?"

"Yes, honey, I'm better," she replied.

After some light, affectionate conversation, the man turned to Ryan with a stern expression and said,"Look, because of you, my wife is in this condition. Don't you dare hurt her in the future—or I'll spank your bottom."

As he continued lecturing Ryan—

Cynthia, her face flushed with anger, shouted,"MARCUS! Don't you dare speak to our child like that! Pray to God you stay safe, because I cannot guarantee it!"

Marcus's expression changed instantly.

He approached Cynthia with a nervous smile."No, no, dear! I won't yell at Ryan… or spank him."

Ryan stared at his idiotic, wife-dominated father in disbelief.

This… is going to be my father?

Oh heavens, what sins did I commit in my previous life to deserve this?

As Ryan silently complained, his mother gently held him, checking his condition. After confirming he was healthy, she placed him back on the bed and began talking with Marcus about when they could return home.

Marcus explained that the doctors had advised her to rest in the hospital for 2–3 days.

Cynthia looked shocked."Two to three days? What am I supposed to do here for that long?"

Marcus replied,"The doctors said it's necessary. Besides, it's free—everything is covered by the government. So why not rest properly?"

She then asked about work.

Marcus reassured her, telling her not to worry and to focus on recovery.

From their conversation, Ryan learned that both Marcus and Cynthia worked for government agencies.

After listening for a while, Ryan grew sleepy and fell asleep again. His parents smiled at each other and continued talking.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

During that time, Ryan could do nothing but sleep, cry, and listen.

On the day of discharge, Marcus was at the counter completing the formalities when he bumped into his old friend Gary, who worked in the same agency but in a different unit.

Gary asked,"What happened? Why are you in the hospital?"

Marcus replied,"My wife, Cynthia, gave birth."

Gary smiled."That's great! A boy or a girl?"

"A boy," Marcus said.

Marcus then asked,"What about you?"

Gary replied proudly,"My wife just gave birth to a baby girl."

Marcus instantly felt jealous.

Why is God so unfair? We both became fathers, but he got a princess… and I got a pig.

Gary noticed his expression, smirked, and said,"I need to get back to my little darling."

He walked away, leaving Marcus fuming.

After finishing the discharge process, Marcus returned to the room to take Cynthia and Ryan home.

As soon as he entered, he started complaining to Cynthia like a child about how unfair life was and about his encounter with Gary.

Cynthia looked utterly helpless but continued comforting him.

Seeing this, Ryan thought,

My future life definitely won't be boring with these two as parents.

After some lighthearted moments, they completed the discharge process and headed toward the exit gate.

Suddenly, Marcus snapped his fingers.

Ryan was confused—but then a spatial gate opened before them.

What Ryan saw next filled him with shock… and excitement for the future.
