Kagami pointed at Haru, a chill running down his back.
There really was someone who could wear a mask for more than ten years and deceive everyone in Konoha, and that person just happened to be an Uchiha from his own clan.
It was absolutely terrifying.
Haru looked at Kagami with a strange expression, feeling like his throat was stuffed with something. Had he left his voice back on the battlefield or what?
He was repeating himself like a broken machine.
"Speak!"
"How exactly did you find out about Tobirama-sama's death?"
Kagami's eyes turned fierce.
He had already taken a black pot for Haru for no reason, and on top of that, Haru's mask had fooled him for so many years that Kagami now felt like a complete clown.
He could not swallow this anger.
"And who the hell are you supposed to be to interrogate me?"
"You're nothing but one of Tobirama's dogs!"
"And not even a loyal one. You're a dog that abandoned its master!!"
Haru fired back immediately, looking at Kagami's angry face as if Kagami had just caught him stealing his wife.
There was no way he was going to indulge him.
Among the Uchiha, all the talk about loyalty and morality was never as useful as a strong fist.
Back then, Haru had behaved like a complete oddity within the clan, and more than a few clueless idiots had ended up getting beaten by him because of it.
Now that Haru was aiming for Konoha's Hokage seat, the act he had put on while Tobirama was alive was no longer useful.
If he wanted to rise within the Uchiha, he needed to strike hard and beat down everyone who refused to accept him.
And Kagami would be the first one.
You always picked a tough target when you wanted to establish your authority.
Kagami's expression stiffened and turned ugly.
The unmasked Haru was acting exactly like the hawkish Uchiha in the clan.
No, that wasn't right.
Haru cursed even worse than they did.
Since when had he become Tobirama's dog?
He was a disciple!
Kagami trembled in anger. Haru's words were simply too vicious.
"Then I suspect Tobirama-sama's death has something to do with you!"
Kagami roared.
The Haru before him had been pretending for so long that the depth of his scheming far exceeded Kagami's imagination. He had deceived Kagami, deceived Tobirama, and deceived all of Konoha.
If Haru could even get his hands on such a top-secret piece of information like Tobirama's death, then it was hard not to suspect that the incident itself had something to do with him.
"That's slander. You're slandering me!"
"I'm the captain of the Uchiha Military Police. On the battlefield, I bled for Konoha and earned merits for it!"
Haru nearly jumped in outrage.
That kind of black pot was not something you just slapped on someone.
If he really had the ability to set up a game big enough to kill Tobirama, he would have done it a long time ago. He would not have waited this long.
Tobirama's death was just Kishimoto's plot nonsense. A man with Flying Thunder God and a body full of forbidden techniques should have been almost impossible to kill if he actually wanted to escape.

Kagami looked all upright and respectable on the outside, but his stomach was full of rotten water. To try and pin something like this on Haru...
He definitely needed to be dealt with.
So Haru decided to strike first.
"Take this!"
Haru formed hand seals, and his ninja blade appeared in his hand.

Blazing fire erupted into existence. A fire dragon more than ten meters long spiraled through the air, circled several times, and then charged straight at Haru.

Haru tightened his grip on the sword and grinned. Then he kicked off the ground, lightning crackling all over his body as it continuously stimulated his cells.
With a sharp sound, Haru shot forward.
A flash of blade light split the fire dragon in half, and it exploded apart into scattered bursts of flame.
"Die!"
In an instant, Haru was already beside Kagami.
The sword light flashed repeatedly, forcing Kagami to retreat again and again.
Haru's speed was extreme, and his swordsmanship was merciless. Every strike of his blade went straight for Kagami's vital points, making Kagami suffer bitterly.
His wounds from earlier had not even healed yet.
This can't keep going.
While defending against Haru's relentless assault, Kagami secretly formed hand seals with one hand.
The moment their Sharingan eyes met...
"Ninja Art: Binding Paralysis!"
Haru's eyes suddenly dimmed. The three tomoe in his Sharingan stopped spinning. The blade he had raised high slowly lowered, and his whole body froze in place.
"Hah... hah... hah..."
Seeing Haru suddenly stop moving, Kagami finally lost control of his breathing and began gasping for air. Then he started coughing, and blood came out.
That first sneak attack from Haru had already caused him internal injuries. He had only held on by force of will until now.
Haru's swordsmanship was terrifying.
Kagami knew that if he had held out for even a few more breaths, Haru would have killed him. Luckily, he had managed to trap Haru with genjutsu.
But now was not the time to rest.
His genjutsu would not hold Haru for long. He needed to tie him up first and hand him over to Mito-sama so he could clear his own name.
Thinking that, Kagami ignored the blood he was still coughing up and hurried toward Haru.
"Swallow Reversal!!"
Haru suddenly moved.
A vicious slash of sword light burst out, catching Kagami completely off guard. He took the blow head-on, and a horrifying wound instantly tore open across his chest. Bone could be seen through it, and even part of his intestines had spilled out.
"Did you really think your genjutsu got me? I was just messing with you. I've been on guard against that trick from the start."
Haru's mocking voice reached Kagami's ears.
In his previous life, Naruto fans had always theorized that Kagami was related to Shisui and that his genjutsu was far above that of an ordinary Uchiha.
How could Haru possibly not stay wary of genjutsu against someone like that?
"You... you..."
Kagami still wanted to say something, but he could not hold on any longer. His vision darkened, his body gave out, and he collapsed unconscious.
Haru walked over and looked down at Kagami, very satisfied with his handiwork.
His swordsmanship had improved again.
A grievous injury without killing him.
That was enough to stop Kagami from jumping over to Hiruzen's side and causing Haru trouble.
At the same time, Haru could not just kill him outright. Randomly slaughtering his own clansmen was not the kind of thing he would do.
He still intended to become clan head, after all.
A green glow then appeared in Haru's hand.
