Chapter 51 - Chapter 51

"Gold, come on!!"

A massive roulette wheel appeared in the void. Haru pressed the draw button, while his other hand clenched into a fist so tightly that his fingers were starting to turn pale.

Ten draws at once!

Haru no longer believed in nonsense like single pulls creating miracles.

The goddess of miracles had never once lifted her skirt for Haru and let him glimpse the secrets of fate.

Go big and get it over with!

"Television"

"Refrigerator"

"One piece of high-quality chakra-conducting metal"

"Air conditioner"

"Bench"

"Ninja Art: Reanimation Jutsu"

"Three kunai"

"Radio"

"Three explosive tags"

"Six god!"

A long string of rewards appeared.

Six white, three green, one red.

"No gold again. Damn it! Trash roulette..."

After venting for a while, Haru looked over the rewards more carefully and decided they were still acceptable.

That single piece of chakra-conducting metal alone could sell for several hundred thousand ryo on the market. If supply was tight, you could only buy it on the black market, where it could go for over a million ryo.

He would keep it to make a ninja blade.

As for those household appliances, they were truly useless for now. Electricity was not even widespread in Konoha yet.

Haru's gaze shifted to the ninjutsu he had drawn this time.

That was the biggest gain of all.

Reanimation Jutsu!

The most broken technique in the Naruto world, one that snatched souls back from the afterlife. Or maybe from the Sage of Six Paths himself. Either way, that was not important.

As long as this technique was fully utilized, if someone spent every day and night digging up the graves of powerful people, one man alone could start an entire ninja war.

The very day Haru had found the Scroll of Seals, he had eagerly looked through the section on Reanimation Jutsu.

The version recorded in the Scroll of Seals was still a crude one. The reanimated ninja retained barely a fraction of their original strength and were mostly good for little more than being paired with explosive tags and used as suicide infantry.

No one had really approached the technique from the angle of restoring the summoned person's strength from life, at least not until Orochimaru appeared and filled in that gap, and then Kabuto later refined it further.

As long as the sacrifice was suitable enough, the summoned body could reproduce a state extremely close to the person's original strength in life.

And the Reanimation Jutsu granted by the roulette was the final version.

Extract.

In an instant, all the information related to Reanimation Jutsu became clear in Haru's mind.

Now that he had learned this technique, the roulette's missions could finally begin to be attempted.

Those golden-reward missions had been tormenting Haru for a long time.

He opened the roulette's mission interface and looked at one particular mission.

Long-Term Mission: Recognition from the Predecessors. Obtain the sincere approval of all previous Hokage.

The only way to earn the approval of the previous Hokage was obviously to bring them back with Reanimation Jutsu. They were already dead. Their souls had long since gone to the Pure Land. If he did not summon them out, how was he supposed to get their approval?

Hashirama Senju would be easy enough to deal with. Haru and Hashirama had never met, so if he talked with him about the Will of Fire and similar ideals, it should be easy enough to find common ground.

And with the Hokage robe on his body, that was a natural badge of trust.

Hashirama was not like Tobirama, who viewed the Uchiha through a heavily biased lens. He should be the easier one to win over.

The only troublesome one was Tobirama.

Haru frowned slightly.

If he really met Tobirama face to face while wearing the Hokage robe, the man's first line would probably be something like:

"Uchiha brat, born evil by nature, this old man will deal with you right now..."

The image surfaced in Haru's mind. What a rude, unbearable fellow. Tobirama's prejudice against the Uchiha was truly severe.

Even if the mental picture was not pleasant, Haru was actually looking forward to it.

The successor Tobirama had chosen had been killed by Haru, and Haru himself had risen to become Hokage. If Tobirama found out all that, the expression on his face would probably be priceless.

Most likely pure helpless fury.

Just imagining it made Haru excited.

No time to waste.

Haru decided he would act tonight and dig up the graves of Hashirama and Tobirama to obtain some of their cells.

Poor Tobirama. The man had not even been buried that long, and now his grave was already about to be dug up.

While making plans for the grave robbery, Haru also silently observed a brief moment of mourning for Tobirama.

Digging up graves was delicate work.

The graves of the Senju brothers, especially those two, would not be easy to tamper with.

If he alerted anyone, it would become a major problem, especially at such a sensitive time.

He had only just taken office as Hokage. If the graves of previous Hokage were dug up right after that, it would be a direct slap in his face.

There could not be the slightest mistake.

...

Late at night

Haru chose the time carefully, around two or three in the morning. At that hour, no one would be wandering around Konoha's cemetery unless they were there to rob graves too.

Before long, Haru arrived in front of Hashirama's grave.

Blasting it open by brute force was naturally out of the question.

"Earth Style: Earth Travel!"

Haru formed hand seals, and his body fused with the earth, quickly reaching the chamber where Hashirama's coffin had been placed.

The burial specifications for a Hokage were extremely high. Beneath the grave, a separate underground chamber had been built, with Hashirama's coffin placed inside.

Haru opened the coffin, and the sight inside made his pupils contract.

The corpse had not rotted at all. On the contrary, it had been preserved in perfect condition.

Even though Hashirama was dead, the cells of his body still retained a trace of vitality. It was truly astonishing.

If Hashirama had not stopped breathing, Haru would have thought the man was merely asleep.

Was this what it meant to be the strongest man in the ninja world?

Haru took out a sealing scroll and decided to take the whole thing away.

Hashirama's body was practically a treasure vault. Leaving it in a dark hole like this was a complete waste. It would be far better for it to continue contributing to Konoha's future in a laboratory.

After packing up Hashirama's body, Haru moved immediately to Tobirama's grave. Beneath it was another small underground chamber, with a coffin resting in the center.

Haru opened the coffin, and a wave of corpse stench hit him in the face.

The smell was pretty strong.

Haru did not mind too much. He packed the whole thing up too. He could not treat the two brothers differently. Since one was being taken, the other should come along as well.

After finishing everything, Haru quickly returned home and noticed that the room was still lit.

Faye and Lynn were lying on the bed, and the moment they heard him arrive, they immediately got up to open the door for him.

"You're still awake?"

"Mm."

Faye and Lynn answered together. Both of them were clearly sleepy beyond words, yet they had still stubbornly waited for him to return. That actually touched Haru a little.

Haru went to the bath and washed himself thoroughly. Digging up graves in the middle of the night was hardly auspicious. He had to clean off the bad luck.

After that, he wrapped his arms around the sisters' slender waists and returned to bed.

Having one on each side really did feel wonderful.

It was too late, so Haru had no intention of doing anything else.

He simply held them, breathing in their soft scent, and drifted off to sleep.
