Chapter 50 - Red Rabbit? Show Some Respect and Call Him Lord Red!

Shells Town, Marine Base 153 prison.

Da Hong was tied up from head to toe.

Not only were his hands locked in Seastone cuffs, but his legs were shackled with heavy Seastone restraints as well.

Outside the cell, Marines stood guard in layer after layer, so many that even the criminals in the neighboring cells were left staring in disbelief.

Inside the cell, Da Hong leaned against the wall with one leg crossed over the other, leisurely flipping through a magazine. He paid no attention at all to the soldiers outside treating him like a walking catastrophe.

He looked less like a prisoner and more like someone on vacation.

"What kind of monster is this red rabbit? Why are the Marines making this much fuss over him?"

"No idea, but he's definitely terrifying."

"Hey, Red Rabbit, what did you even do?"

In the neighboring cell, a hulking man over two meters tall stepped up to the bars and shouted at Da Hong, who was still calmly reading.

"You've been locked up in here and they're still guarding you like this. Whatever you did, it must've been huge!"

Da Hong ignored him completely and turned a page.

"You dare ignore me?"

The big man's face darkened instantly. Then he pulled off a shoe he clearly had not changed in half a month and hurled it straight at Da Hong.

Smack!

The shoe hit Da Hong right in the face.

Da Hong blinked slowly, then reached up, removed the shoe, and looked at it.

The big man still had not realized how badly he had just messed up.

Thinking Da Hong was all bark and no bite, he got even more arrogant.

"Bring my shoe back over here right now! No—put it back on for me!"

As he spoke, he stretched one filthy blackened foot through the bars toward Da Hong's cell.

Da Hong looked at the shoe in his hand.

Then he looked at the disgusting foot sticking into his cell.

He blinked again, looking almost adorably blank.

Then, in the very next instant, his brows drew together.

He set down the magazine, rose to his feet, and vanished in a flash of fury.

Before the big man had even time to react, Da Hong grabbed his leg and drove a fist down.

Crack!

"AAAHHHH—!"

A shriek ripped through the prison as the man's leg was torn clean off.

The criminals in the neighboring cells all froze with bulging eyes.

Even the Marines guarding the prison had not expected something this brutal. Staring at the blood-soaked severed leg, every one of them felt cold sweat crawl down his back.

Before Da Hong had been locked up here, their superiors had repeatedly warned them:

Do not provoke the red rabbit.

Do not insult the red rabbit.

Above all—

do not let the red rabbit enter a berserk state.

After all, the entire royal line of the Goa Kingdom had died at the hands of Da Hong while enraged.

Even so, despite their fear, the officer leading the guard still forced himself to speak.

"R-Red rabbit, don't do anything rash! Go back to your original spot and sit down!"

Da Hong turned his head and glanced at the officer.

Then he casually threw the severed leg to the floor.

Right after that, he reached out with one hand and bent the iron bars separating him from the other cell as though they were soft wire.

Then he stepped through.

Although one of his legs had been ripped off, the big man had not fainted. He was still rolling around on the floor, screaming in agony.

Da Hong looked down at him.

His brows furrowed once more.

Then, without the slightest hesitation, he raised his fist and smashed it down onto the man's head.

The blow landed.

Blood splattered everywhere.

At once, the screaming stopped.

Silence.

Peace.

Comfort.

After pulping the man's skull with a single punch, Da Hong visibly felt better.

Then he turned around, walked back into his own cell, picked up his magazine again, and lay down in the same relaxed pose as before, one leg crossed over the other, foot gently swaying.

Seeing that Da Hong had no intention of going on a rampage, the Marines outside all let out quiet breaths of relief.

The officer at the front wiped sweat from his brow and barked at the others, "What are you standing around for? Move the body!"

At that very moment—

the tightly shut prison doors were pushed open.

A group filed in one after another.

At the front stood none other than Garp, the Marine hero who had barely escaped with his life after being beaten down by Da Hong.

Beside him were Admiral Kizaru and four Marine Headquarters vice admirals: Gion, Momonga, Onigumo, and Yamakaji.

Smoker and Tina followed close behind them.

"Vice Admiral Garp?"

"Admiral Kizaru… and four vice admirals too? What kind of insane lineup is this? Don't tell me they all came for that rabbit!"

"Wait, that's Admiral Borsalino? You're sure?"

"Brother, you really know your stuff. You actually recognized a Headquarters admiral?"

"Aren't their great deeds always in the papers?"

"Even a Headquarters admiral got involved? What kind of taboo did that red rabbit break?!"

The prisoners in the neighboring cells, who had already been shaking after watching Da Hong beat that man to death, were now completely overwhelmed.

"Red Rabb— cough. Da Hong."

Stopping outside the cell, Garp cleared his throat and spoke with forced gravity.

"You brutally murdered one hundred and thirty-eight members of the Goa Kingdom royal family and publicly killed the World Noble Saint Charloss. Your crimes are unforgivable."

"By order of the Five Elders, the highest authority of the World Government, you are to be transferred to Loguetown and publicly executed there in five days."

The moment those words came out, the prisoners in the neighboring cells all turned to stare at Da Hong, their eyes filled with utter shock—

and worship.

If not for the terrifying Marine lineup present, they would have dropped to their knees and kowtowed on the spot.

What Red Rabbit?

This was practically Lord Red.

Killing over a hundred royals was one thing.

But publicly killing a Celestial Dragon?

That was the stuff of legend.

A role model among criminals.

A true icon.

Yet Da Hong did not fly into a rage after hearing he was about to be executed.

He simply lowered the magazine in his hand and asked with total seriousness,

"Did the bounty hunter get paid?"
