Chapter 10 - The Ones Beyond Fate

In an unknown, chaotic realm where space and time flowed as if they did not exist at all, where direction, distance, and even causality seemed meaningless, darkness stretched endlessly across every corner of existence.

There was no sky.

There was no ground.

There was no concept of beginning or end.

Only a vast, silent void—an abyss that devoured light, sound, and meaning itself.

Yet, within that boundless nothingness…

There stood a throne.

It was not made of any known material. It seemed to exist beyond the limitations of matter itself, as if it had been formed from the very essence of reality—or perhaps from something even more fundamental than reality.

Ancient symbols faintly shimmered across its surface, appearing and disappearing as though they could not fully exist within this realm. The throne radiated an overwhelming presence—one that distorted the surrounding void, forcing even the chaos itself to remain still in its presence.

Seated upon that throne was a man.

His appearance was flawless—so perfect that it felt unnatural. His face looked as if it had been carved by the hands of the gods themselves, every feature balanced with impossible precision. His black hair fell softly around his face, and his eyes carried a depth that seemed to contain countless worlds within them.

He did not move.

Yet, his mere existence felt like a force capable of overturning reality itself.

On his left side sat a little girl.

She looked no older than ten, yet her presence carried an eerie contradiction—both innocent and ancient at the same time.

One of her eyes was a deep, glowing red.

The other was a calm, piercing blue.

Her long silver hair flowed smoothly down her back like liquid starlight, untouched by the chaotic currents of the void around them. Unlike the darkness that consumed everything else, she seemed untouched by it—as if she existed outside its influence.

The two of them sat in silence.

In front of them floated a translucent system screen.

It hovered in midair, flickering slightly, as if even this realm struggled to fully stabilize its existence. Lines of information moved across it—constantly shifting, constantly updating.

At that moment, the screen displayed a very specific scene.

Du Shentian.

Running.

Fighting.

And then—

Stabbing the white wolf with his dagger.

Not just anywhere—

Directly into her butt.

A moment later, the wolf's form distorted, twisted, and transformed…

Revealing Luo Xinyan.

A brief silence followed.

Then—

The little girl's expression twisted into disbelief.

"What the heck is going on this time?" she said, her voice filled with confusion and irritation.

"This is totally different from the last timeline, Father."

Her gaze remained fixed on the screen, her mismatched eyes narrowing slightly as if trying to analyze every detail of what had just occurred.

Upon hearing her words, the black-haired man finally spoke.

His voice was calm.

Steady.

Unshaken.

"Whenever we turn back time," he said slowly, "Fate and Grand Order also attempt to alter the timeline. They interfere in subtle ways, making sure we cannot fully predict what will happen in the future."

His eyes remained fixed on the screen.

"The changes are small… but significant."

A faint pause followed.

"You already know this. Fate and Grand Order have already decided the end of all worlds."

The little girl fell silent for a moment.

Then, she shifted slightly and sat down more comfortably, her expression calming as she processed his words.

"Dad," she said, her tone softer now, "the last timeline was also good."

She glanced at him.

"Why did you turn back time once more?"

The black-haired man did not answer immediately.

For a brief moment, the chaotic void around them seemed to grow heavier—as if even reality itself was waiting for his response.

Finally, he spoke.

"The last timeline… was good," he admitted.

"But in that timeline, Du Shentian was broken beyond healing."

His gaze deepened.

"He lost his entire family."

A faint, almost imperceptible shift passed through his expression.

"At that point… I do not think he would have been able to complete what I needed him to complete."

He leaned back slightly against the throne.

"That is why I decided to turn back time again."

"To give him another chance."

The little girl listened quietly.

Then, she frowned slightly.

"Okay, fine," she said. "You could have done that."

"But even then…"

Her eyes sharpened.

"You didn't have to give him your own power."

Her voice carried a trace of concern now.

"That could cause you serious problems. You know that, right?"

The black-haired man nodded calmly.

"Yes, I know."

His tone did not change.

"Giving him my power goes against the laws of the world itself."

"And if Fate and Grand Order notice what I am trying to do…"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"They will not remain idle."

The little girl's expression tightened slightly.

But before she could say anything, he continued.

"That is why I have already concealed this entire world."

His voice grew quieter—but more dangerous.

"They will not know what is happening here."

"Not yet."

His gaze returned to the screen.

"Slowly…"

"I will turn this world completely against Fate and Grand Order."

The little girl's eyes widened slightly.

For a moment, she hesitated.

Then she spoke again.

"Dad… you need to be careful."

Her voice carried genuine concern now.

"Fate and Grand Order exist beyond control."

She lowered her gaze slightly.

"I know you want to destroy them…"

"But can't we just… run away from all of this?"

A brief pause.

"We don't need to fight them, right?"

Her voice softened further.

"You could create another timeline."

"You could create a world where we can escape."

"…Right?"

The void fell silent again.

The black-haired man's expression did not change.

But something in his eyes grew colder.

"Your mother… and your uncle…"

"They are both intertwined with Fate and Grand Order."

His voice was firm now.

"If I try to run away… they cannot escape with me."

A faint pause.

"It would only result in their deaths."

The little girl froze.

"And to save them…"

His voice carried absolute resolve.

"I will do anything."

"Even if that means going against the laws of the world."

"Going against the laws of reality."

"And going against Fate and Grand Order themselves."

Silence.

The little girl lowered her head slightly.

She understood.

There was no changing his mind.

So instead—

She made her decision.

Silently.

She would support him.

No matter what.

Without another word, she turned her attention back to the screen.

At that moment, the scene shifted.

It showed the exact moment when the system told Du Shentian that there was an existence behind it—

An unknown existence.

The little girl's expression immediately changed.

Her face flushed with irritation.

Then—

Without hesitation—

She leaned forward and bit her father's arm.

"What are you doing?!" she snapped.

"You're making me look like some big villain who's going to destroy him!"

The black-haired man glanced at her, completely unfazed.

"I'm not trying to frame you as a villain," he said calmly.

"But we are unknown entities."

"We do not belong to this world… or its timelines."

A faint smirk appeared on his lips.

"So a little teasing is fine, right?"

After a brief pause, he added—

"After all… you are the one who controls the system."

The little girl immediately pulled back, crossing her arms.

"Fine," she said, slightly annoyed. "I know I control the system."

"But you're the one who created it and linked it to me."

The black-haired man chuckled softly.

Then, he reached out and gently ruffled her hair.

"Okay, okay. Sorry."

"I was just joking."

"I only wanted to lighten the mood a little."

The little girl sighed, her irritation fading slightly.

"Whatever you do is your own problem," she said.

"I won't interfere in your work anymore."

With that—

She jumped down from the throne.

Her small figure landed silently on the unseen surface below.

She began walking away into the endless darkness.

The man watched her for a moment before asking—

"Where are you going?"

She didn't stop walking.

"I need to take care of your other versions," she replied.

"If I don't watch over them…"

She let out a small sigh.

"They'll literally destroy themselves."

A faint pause.

"I have to manage the multiple versions."

"The different fragments of your soul."

The man nodded slightly.

"Okay."

"Come back quickly."

She raised a hand lazily in response, not turning back.

Then—

She disappeared into the darkness.

The realm returned to silence.

Now alone, the black-haired man leaned slightly forward on his throne.

His gaze returned to the floating screen.

To Du Shentian.

Running.

Struggling.

Moving toward his fate.

"I have changed the timeline once more…" he murmured.

His voice echoed faintly in the void.

"This time…"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Can Du Shentian find his happiness…?"

"And lead me to the end I desire?"

He chuckled softly.

A quiet, almost amused sound.

As he watched Du Shentian run toward the Gate of Dragon Century 007—

The void around him twisted ever so slightly.

As if even existence itself was reacting to what was about to come.
