And this fact had indeed been proven true. But Paras nowadays have started continuously plucking off their own mushrooms to prevent being drained dry upon evolution. Parasects also regularly pluck off the large mushrooms on their bodies to prevent being controlled. Therefore, this incident has become a terrifying dark history recorded by the Pokémon League. The current Pokédex entries have beautified it a bit, so they don't mention this deranged history. However, once someone catches a Paras, a Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, or even a Pokémon School teacher will definitely remind them of this matter; otherwise, it would truly be harming the Paras.
As Ash threw the book away in frustration, Sabrina let out a laugh.
