Standing on the second floor, Ash and the group looked out the window. They realized the battle between the two factions was literally just a gang fight, with Pokémon fighting like rabid dogs. Ash was a bit speechless, but he still took a moment to observe the two groups.
The Scyther and the Electabuzz were somewhat decent—they were at least high-level. But he really couldn't fathom how these idiots thought this kind of display would ever make them an official gym. Furthermore, Gym Trainers aren't supposed to cause destruction and increase the economic burden on the city.
"You agree, right?"
The mysterious person, bundled up tightly, was startled by Ash's sudden question. However, she eventually nodded and said, "Indeed. The League would never recognize people like this."
"Although they are trained decently, the purpose is just street brawling. It's..." Suzie frowned as she looked at the people fighting below.
Misty had a headache after hearing Suzie's words. These people weren't just ruining the reputation of trainers; they were dragging the good name of Gym Leaders through the mud.
Just as she was wondering what to say, she noticed Ash was frowning out the window.
"What's wrong, Ash?"
Hearing Misty's voice, Ash finally snapped out of it. He handed a small candy to the Eevee poking its head out of his jacket and said, "Nothing. I just feel like these guys don't even know how to properly throw down. Even Mama Bear could fight better than them."
"Pika pi..." (Could we please not mention her?)
"Luck..." (It's simply a nightmare...)
"Boss, I really don't want to recall that terrifying bear..."
The moment the name "Mama Bear" was mentioned, Pikachu, Meowth, and Chansey instantly turned pale. It seemed this 'Mama Bear' had given them some truly traumatic memories.
"Mama Bear?"
"Are you talking about Mama Bear? I wonder how she's doing right now?"
Hearing the nostalgic nickname, Lara showed a fond expression. Back when she, Ash, and Tomo were traveling together, Mama Bear had taken excellent care of them.
"Don't worry. I have the Continental Hotel deliver Combee honey to Mama Bear regularly. She's definitely living the good life." Thinking of the Mama Bear who had taken such good care of him, Ash unconsciously smiled. When the time comes, I should let N meet Mama Bear.
Far away in Unova, N suddenly shuddered involuntarily, as if he had just been targeted by something utterly horrifying.
Back with Ash, Meowth was somewhat speechless seeing how much Ash actually missed her. "Boss, are you talking about the Bewear?"
"Of course! Think about how good Mama Bear was to us. She brought us fresh fruit every day and even helped me perfect my Ripple. Mama Bear practiced martial arts with me! Where else are you going to find a Mama Bear who cares for us like that?"
Meowth's eye twitched as he said helplessly, "As long as you're happy, Boss."
The 'Mama Bear' Ash was talking about was terrifying. She was way too horrifying!
Seeing Ash and Lara showing such interest, Suzie asked Meowth, "What kind of Pokémon is this Mama Bear you're talking about?"
"To be honest, I really don't want to remember it, but I'll show you guys..."
Saying this, Meowth pulled out his tablet and opened the photo album. Inside a folder labeled 'Alola', he opened a picture. The photo featured a slightly younger Ash, Lara, Tomo, Meowth, Chansey, Pikachu, and a pink-headed, black-bodied bear Pokémon—Bewear.
In the picture, Ash, Lara, and Tomo were happily hugging the Bewear, while Meowth, Chansey, and Pikachu were being trapped in a crushing bear hug by her.
"We met that Bewear when the Boss was expanding his business. I don't know why, but her close-combat skills are absolutely terrifying. She is really good at taking care of people, but the scariest thing is definitely her combat power. That Bewear seems to know how to do literally everything..."
Speaking of this, Meowth shivered. Even though he was now at the Champion level, he still felt like he couldn't beat that Bewear.
"Is that so? If even you say she's strong, Meowth, then she must be a very powerful Pokémon," Brock said in surprise. Pikachu just wiped away cold sweat.
"Pika pi..." (Her combat power is absurd. After sparring in Ripple with Ash, she's clearly gotten even stronger. I don't even know if I could beat her now...)
"Luck..." (Mama Bear's combat power is an enigma...)
The little Eevee in Ash's jacket tilted its head, confused by everyone's reactions.
"Vui?" (Is she really that strong?)
"Pika!" (Extremely strong!)
Meanwhile, in Alola, a Bewear accepted a delivery of Combee honey from an employee of the Continental Hotel and took a taste.
"Beee!"
The bear was satisfied, and the hotel employee respectfully took their leave. Bewear looked off into the distance.
"Beee!" (I wonder how those kids are doing. I should find some time to visit them!)
