Chapter 42 - The Last Spin

We were all sitting together in the living room, facing each other.

The tiredness from our journey had slowly disappeared, replaced by the excitement of finally being in Jeju.

Minhu suddenly looked around at everyone.

"Let's play a game."

Yian immediately nodded.

"Yeah!"

Then he picked up his phone.

"I already called Sonje."

A few seconds later, Sonje walked into the room and looked at all of us.

"What are you planning now?"

Yian smiled innocently.

"Nothing."

Sonje raised an eyebrow.

"Whenever you say 'nothing,' I know something is about to happen."

Everyone laughed.

Minhu leaned forward.

"Come on, sit down. We're playing a game."

Sonje sighed but joined us.

"Fine. But if this turns into another one of Yian's ridiculous games, I'm leaving."

"Hey!" Yian protested.

"Why is everyone always blaming me?"

A few minutes later, Yoonji came back carrying a tray filled with snacks and cold drinks.

She placed everything in the middle of us.

"Okay, now we're ready."

Sonje looked around at everyone and smiled.

"Then let's play Truth or Dare."

Yian's eyes immediately lit up.

"Yes!"

He leaned forward excitedly.

"This is going to be fun."

Minhu laughed.

"You're way too excited about this."

"Of course I am."

Yian grabbed a bottle from the table and placed it in the middle.

"Let's see who gets unlucky first."

Yoonji sat down beside me, already smiling.

I looked around at everyone.

Something told me this game was going to cause trouble.

Sonje picked up the bottle from the middle of the table.

"Okay, everyone ready?"

We all nodded.

Yian leaned forward with an excited smile.

"Let's start!"

Sonje placed the bottle on the floor and spun it.

Everyone watched as it went around and around...

Slower...

Slower...

Until it finally stopped.

The bottle pointed directly at Yian.

For a second, everyone was silent.

Then Minhu burst out laughing.

"Of course!"

Yian looked around at everyone.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Because you were the most excited," Minhu replied.

Yian rolled his eyes.

"Fine. Truth or dare?"

Sonje looked at him.

"Truth or dare?"

Yian didn't even hesitate.

"Dare."

Sonje smiled.

"Alright..."

He looked around the room, thinking of something.

Then a mischievous smile appeared on his face.

"I dare you to..."

Sonje thought for a moment before a small smile appeared on his face.

"I dare you to imitate everyone's expressions."

Yian blinked.

"Everyone?"

"Everyone."

Yian looked around the room, then sighed dramatically.

"Fine. You're going to regret this."

He started with Minhu, copying his serious expression.

Everyone immediately burst out laughing.

"Hey! I don't look like that!" Minhu protested.

"You do!" Yoonji laughed.

Then Yian turned toward Yoonji and exaggerated her usual annoyed expression.

"Like this?"

Yoonji grabbed a cushion and threw it at him.

"Stop!"

Yian quickly moved away, laughing.

Then he looked at Sonje and copied his strict leader expression.

"Everyone, behave yourselves."

The whole room burst into laughter again.

Finally, Yian turned toward Sihoon.

He straightened his back, crossed his arms, and put on an impossibly calm expression.

"..."

Everyone started laughing.

Even Sihoon couldn't stop a small smile from appearing.

Yian pointed at him.

"See? I can do you perfectly."

Sihoon shook his head.

"You really can't."

"Whatever."

Yian dropped back onto the floor.

"Next!"

Yian suddenly looked at me.

"And Jia!"

I pointed at myself.

"Me?"

"Of course."

He sat up straight and tried to imitate me.

He lowered his voice and put on an innocent expression.

"...Okay."

Everyone burst out laughing.

I stared at him for a second before laughing too.

"I don't talk like that!"

Yian immediately copied my expression again.

"Really? Are you sure?"

Yoonji laughed.

"That's exactly how Jia sounds!"

I shook my head, smiling.

"You're terrible."

Yian grinned proudly.

"Thank you."

Everyone laughed again.

Even Sihoon smile quiet beside Minhu.

I looked around at them, feeling completely at ease.

It was strange to think that not long ago, I would have felt awkward in a room full of people like this.

Now...

Their laughter felt familiar.

I looked around at everyone.

"Truth."

Yian immediately smiled.

"Okay..."

He rubbed his chin, pretending to think carefully.

Then he looked at me.

"Who in this group do you trust the most?"

I blinked.

"That's your question?"

"Yes."

Everyone became quiet, waiting for my answer.

I looked around the circle.

Yoonji was smiling at me.

Minhu was watching curiously.

Sonje leaned back against the sofa.

Yian was practically waiting for some dramatic answer.

And then...

My eyes accidentally met Sihoon's.

He wasn't smiling.

He was simply waiting for my answer.

I quickly looked away.

"I..."

I thought for a moment.

"Honestly, I trust all of you."

Yian groaned.

"That's not an answer!"

Everyone laughed.

I smiled.

"Then I'm not answering."

Yian pointed at me.

"Fine! I'll remember that when it's my turn again."

The laughter started again, and the tension disappeared.

But for some reason...

I could still feel Sihoon's eyes on me.

Yian leaned closer with a mischievous smile.

"Okay, Minhu. Tell us honestly..."

Minhu looked at him suspiciously.

"What?"

"Have you ever had a crush on someone?"

The room immediately went quiet.

Minhu stared at Yian.

"That's your question?"

"Yep."

Yian grinned.

"Truth means truth."

Yoonji looked at Minhu curiously.

Sonje laughed softly.

"Now you've put yourself in trouble."

Minhu sighed and looked around the room.

"Yes."

Everyone reacted at once.

"What?!"

"Who?"

"Tell us!"

Yian nearly jumped forward.

"Who is she?"

Minhu shook his head.

"I answered the question. I never said I'd tell you who."

Yian groaned.

"That's cheating!"

Minhu laughed.

"You didn't ask."

Everyone started laughing again.

Yoonji shook her head.

"He's actually smarter than you."

Yian pointed at her.

"Don't take his side!"

The game continued with everyone laughing and teasing Minhu.

Yian picked up the bottle again.

"Okay, next!"

He gave it a quick spin.

The bottle went around the circle...

Slower...

Slower...

Everyone watched closely.

Then it stopped.

Right in front of Sihoon.

Yian's eyes immediately lit up.

"Ohhh... finally!"

Sihoon looked down at the bottle and then at everyone.

"What?"

"It's your turn," Yian said, grinning.

Minhu laughed.

"Choose carefully."

Sihoon leaned back slightly.

"Truth."

Yian smiled.

"I knew you'd choose that."

He thought for a moment before asking,

"Have you ever liked someone but never told them?"

The room suddenly became quieter.

Sihoon didn't answer immediately.

For a moment, his eyes moved around the circle...

And then they stopped on me.

My heart skipped.

He looked away almost immediately.

"Yes."

Yian's mouth fell open.

"Wait... really?"

Sihoon simply nodded.

"Really."

Yian leaned forward.

"Who?"

Sihoon gave him a calm look.

"That's not part of the question."

Everyone laughed.

Yian groaned.

"Why are you all so good at avoiding my questions?"

I laughed quietly with everyone else.

But somehow...

I couldn't stop thinking about the way Sihoon had looked at me before answering.

Yian grabbed the bottle again.

"Okay, okay. No more questions about Sihoon."

He placed the bottle in the middle and spun it.

The bottle went around the circle, making everyone follow it with their eyes.

It slowed down...

Passed Sonje...

Passed Jia...

Then finally stopped in front of Yoonji.

Yian immediately laughed.

"Yoonji!"

Yoonji looked at the bottle and sighed.

"Why me?"

"Because the bottle chose you."

She picked it up.

"Fine. Truth."

Yian thought for a moment.

Then a mischievous smile appeared on his face.

"What's the first thing you noticed about Minhu when you met him?"

Minhu immediately looked at Yian.

"Why are you asking her that?"

Yian grinned.

"Because it's a good question."

Yoonji glanced at Minhu.

For a moment, she seemed to think carefully.

Then she smiled.

"His kindness."

Minhu looked slightly surprised.

Yian immediately pointed at him.

"Look at his face!"

Everyone laughed.

Minhu shook his head.

"Can we just continue the game?"

Yoonji smiled quietly.

"Sure."

Yian grabbed the bottle again.

"Next round!"

Yian spun the bottle again.

This time, it slowed down in front of Sonje.

Yian immediately smiled.

"Sonje!"

Sonje looked at the bottle and sighed.

"Again?"

"You can't escape forever."

Sonje picked up his drink.

"Fine. Truth."

Yian thought for a moment.

Then his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Okay, I have one."

Sonje raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"Is there someone in this group you have a crush on?"

The room instantly became quiet.

Sonje froze for a moment.

Minhu looked at him with surprise.

Yoonji covered her smile.

Yian leaned forward eagerly.

"Well?"

Sonje glanced around the room.

His eyes stopped for a brief moment before he answered.

"...Yes."

Everyone reacted at once.

"WHAT?"

Yian nearly dropped his drink.

"Who?!"

Sonje laughed quietly.

"I answered your question."

"That's not enough!"

"You asked if there was someone."

Sonje took another sip of his drink.

"And there is."

Yian looked around at everyone.

"Okay, now I need to know."

I laughed along with everyone else, but I couldn't help wondering who he meant.

Beside me, Sihoon remained unusually quiet.

He didn't ask anything.

He simply looked at Sonje for a moment before looking down at his drink.

Yian grabbed the bottle again.

"Fine. We'll find out eventually."

He spun it again.

But somehow...

The atmosphere in the room didn't feel quite the same anymore.

Yian picked up the bottle one last time.

"Okay, everyone! Last and final spin."

Sonje looked at him.

"Why are you making it sound so serious?"

"Because this one is different."

Yian placed the bottle in the middle of the circle.

"Whoever the bottle chooses has to go to the fish market near the ocean and bring back something for everyone."

Minhu laughed.

"At this time?"

"That's why it's the final challenge."

Yoonji shook her head.

"You're unbelievable."

Yian grinned and spun the bottle.

It went around and around...

Everyone watched it carefully.

It slowed down...

Passed Sonje...

Passed Minhu...

Then finally stopped.

Right in front of Jia.

Everyone looked at me.

I blinked.

"Me?"

Yian jumped up.

"Jia has been chosen!"

I laughed.

"You made the rule. You should go."

"No, no. The bottle chose you."

Sonje smiled.

"Looks like you're going."

I looked at the others, then sighed.

"Fine. I'll go."

Sihoon suddenly stood up.

"I'll go with her."

Everyone looked at him.

Yian's smile became wider.

"Oh..."

Sihoon looked at him.

"What?"

"Nothing."

Yian tried to hide his grin.

"Absolutely nothing."

I looked at Sihoon.

Sihoon glanced toward the door.

"I need to buy something from the convenience store anyway."

I just looked at him.

He didn't explain anything else.

He simply picked up his jacket.

"Let's go."

I nodded quietly and followed him.

Maybe it was only a short walk to the fish shop...

But somehow, I felt like this little trip was going to become a memory.
