The girl had learned well. She understood only the part about being with him. She refused to understand why she couldn't.
Evil Rhett: My world, my rules.
He rubbed his forehead. She lacked security. He could understand.
"SLAM!"
The captain's door closed. "Sleep alone! I put a blood mist bear in your room."
Silence.
He lay in bed, unable to sleep. The mist told him she was sitting outside his door.
He muttered, "So stubborn."
He gave in. He opened the door.
She sat there, hugging her knees. She looked up, her eyes bright in the moonlight.
He sighed. "Fine. Last night! Tomorrow, you sleep alone."
She moved quickly, climbing onto the bed and under the covers.
He closed the door. Last night... he'd see.
---
Days passed. The sea was endless and boring. Rhett's excitement faded. He missed fighting interesting enemies.
"I'm so bored."
The girl watched him. She felt his boredom.
Suddenly, explosions.
Rhett sat up. "A fight? Great!"
The girl said, "I'll protect you."
He rubbed her cool, smooth hair.
A large ship bounced across the sea. It was made of rubber, like a toy.
It was being chased by ships with royal flags.
The rubber ship bounced on the water. "Duang, duang."
Shots bounced off it.
Rhett smiled. "Interesting. Joy Boy."
Finally, someone interesting.
Then, stray shots hit his small ship.
"Boss, my ship is this small and you're shooting?"
He rubbed the girl's head. "Say the rule."
She tried. "This is... my... choice."
"Good. Progress."
Her head moved with his hand. She enjoyed the safe feeling.
Rhett smiled. He would fight the royal ships, then use a small illusion.
He would be the world's policeman, looking for fun.
