[Duel Points: 3100]
Close enough, I'll get to 7100 without counting Overload. I expect to get 10k today.
"Aight, who's next in the loser list?"
"You are!"
A guy walks in front of the defeated Mizu; he looks younger than the other brothers. Significantly, I'd say he'd have at least a 15-year age gap with Mizu. He wears some sort of aviation goggles on his forehead, and his hair is pulled back into a man bun.
He wears a loose jacket and an unnecessarily long scarf that would wave behind him if there were wind. It has the WIND Attribute icon printed on the front of the scarf. He also has loose pants and tall boots.
His green eyes shine bright; he seems to be quite different from his siblings. I actually don't even think he's here for the money. I'd love to say the same for myself, but the fact is, I actually am here for the money.
"I bet this Duel will be fun!"
"What are you even here for?"
"Ain't it obvious? Dueling is fun."
"Your brothers would disagree."
"Who cares?"
"...Fair"
I open my Duel Disk as he opens his; his energy and 'innocence' truly feel weird after fighting the other two siblings first. Maybe if everyone took Duel Monsters as a game and not the law and a money-making trick, the world would be better.
Personally, I don't care. I'm on my way to winning, so I don't want Dueling not to equal money, since money would still equal power.
"Duel!" We say at the same time.
[Duel Start]
[Yōso Kage vs Yoshiro Yuta]
[Turn 1]
[Yoshiro Yuta's Turn]
[Main Phase]
As I stare at him, trying to figure out if he got a good hand, a sudden headache reminds me of my power. I decide to wait one more turn before trying to remember stuff about his Deck. Using it across the last Duels has started to get its hold on me.
Regarding his initial Hand, I cannot quite read him. He's just smiling, so I guess he got a good initial hand? He notices I'm staring at him and looks up at me, giggling.
"Perfect Hand, you?"
As he asks me, I look at my Hand...
"Just what I wanted."
I ain't gonna tell him I drew two copies of 'Comic Hand', 'Toon Terror', 'Toon Gemini Elf', and 'Toon Goblin Attack Force.' Yes, I won duels thanks to that first spell trap, but I need 'Toon World,' and I didn't get it. So, my first turn is gonna be pretty lame.
"I Normal Summon 'Toon Goblin Attack Force' and End my Turn."
"That's all your 'just what I want' Hand can give you?"
No, of course it isn't. I am hoping for him to have bluffed as I did. If that happens, I'll have a chance at surviving this turn and hopefully getting 'Toon World' eventually. Someday.
['Toon Goblin Attack Force', Normal Summoned in face-up Attack Position to Yuta's Second Monster Zone]
['Toon Goblin Attack Force', EARTH Monster]
[Level 4/Warrior/Toon/Effect]
[2300 ATK, 0 DEF]
[End Phase]
"Hmm... So that was all. Why are you holding back!?"
"Was it all?"
"Hmph..."
[Turn 2]
[Yōso Kaze's Turn]
[Draw Phase]
"Draw!" I focus on his expression upon drawing his card. He draws it with an amount of energy that doesn't match anything I've seen before. But, as he looks at his card, he simply sighs. I guess at least he didn't get a perfect raw.
Even though he sighed, he Normal Summons it right away.
"I Normal Summon 'Slower Swallow."
['Slower Swallow', Normal Summoned in face-up Attack Position to Kaze's Second Monster Zone]
['Slower Swallow', WIND Monster]
[Level 1/Winged-Beast/Effect]
[100 ATK, 100 DEF]
"Then, I will play and Activate 'Elborz, the Sacred Lands of Simorgh'. It allows me to do an additional Normal Summon of a Winged-Beast monster this turn."
['Elborz, the Sacred Lands of Simorgh', Field Spell Card]
[● If you control a WIND Winged Beast monster, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 Winged Beast monster.]
"Fly on, 'Slower Swallow!"
['Slower Swallow', Normal Summoned in face-up Attack Position to Kaze's Third Monster Zone]
Another one, he had 2 of that card on his Hand... I can't tell if that's being unlucky or being lucky, to be honest. I guess it'll depend on his Extra Deck.
"Now, by activating the effect of 'Slower Swallow' on my Hand, I will Special Summon it from my Hand to the field! Fly, my third copy of this little bird!"
['Slower Swallow', Special Summoned in face-up Attack Position to Kaze's Fourth Monster Zone]
['Slower Swallow', WIND Monster]
[If 2 or more monsters with the same Level are on the field, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand).]
"And lastly, by tributing itself, I'll be able to draw two cards during my drawing phase instead of one."
['Slower Swallow', WIND Monster]
[You can Tribute this card; draw 2 cards instead of 1 for your normal draw during your next Draw Phase.]
"And I'll assume you'll now XYZ Summon into a Rank 1."
"You would be correct, yes."
Of course, I am correct, even though I can't see his Deck. The way he's playing makes it easy to predict his plays
"I will Overlay my two 'Slower Swallow' to XYZ Summon 'Ripple Bird'. And while all my face-up monsters are on Defense Position, this XYZ Monster prevents you from declaring an attack during your Battle Phase!"
Hm, I guess. However, I can take control of that monster. After all, the other effect is also pretty interesting.
['Ripple Bird', XYZ Summoned in face-up Defense Position to Kaze's Third Monster Zone]
['Ripple Bird', WIND Monster]
[Rank 1/Winged-Beast/XYZ/Effect]
[While all monsters you control are in Defense Position, your opponent cannot declare an attack.]
[1000 ATK, 0 DEF]
"Now, I'll End my Turn. Show me what you've got!"
[Turn 3]
[Yoshiro Yuta's Turn]
[Draw Phase]
"Draw!" I draw a card from my Deck, come on, get me out of the brick! 'Toon World', perfect. That is just good enough, enough to activate my cards that require 'Toon World' to be on the field. And so.
"I activate 'Toon World' by paying 1000 Lifepoints."
[Yuta's LP: 8000 --> 7000]
['Toon World' Activated to Yuta's First Spell/Trap Zone]
['Toon World', Continuous Spell Card]
[Activate this card by paying 1000 LP.]
"I will activate my Spell Card 'Comic Hand' to take control of your 'Ripple Bird'."
"Aw, not that one. Didn't expect you'd have it, I'll be honest."
['Ripple Bird', Moved to Yuta's Third Monster Zone]
"I switch 'Ripple Bird' to Attack Position, which increases the ATK of all my attack position Monsters I control by 500 ATK. And then, I'll Normal Summon 'Toon Gemini Elf'!"
['Toon Gemini Elf', Normal Summoned in face-up Attack Position to Yuta's Fourth Monster Zone]
['Toon Gemini Elf', EARTH Monster]
[Level 4/Spellcaster/Toons/Effect]
"I will enter the Battle Phase, get ready!"
"I'm ready, and excited. Attack me!"
[Battle Phase]
"Now, I will be using 'Ripple Bird', which has 1500 ATK due to its own effect."
"NGhhh!" He bites his tongue not to scream out of pain but steadies himself quickly.
"That's not all, 'cause I now Direct Attack you with 'Toon Goblin Attack Force', which has had its ATK go up to 2800.
(Kaze's LP: 8000 --> 6200 --> 3700)
I feel like I'm getting into a good position. I have 3 monsters, and he has none. That is, without considering the fact that his LPs are getting pretty low as well. Maybe this win will actually be just easy.
[Main Phase 2]
"I Overlay 'Toons Goblin Attack Force' and 'Toon Gemini Elf' to XYZ Summon 'Number 42: Bagooska the Terrible Tired Tapir'!"
This monster is the ultimate staller, right now at 2600 ATK due to the effects of 'Ripple Bird', it's my most effective and reliable wall. I gotta be ready for whatever my enemy sends at me. However, I do need one more little layer of protection.
"I Set a card on my spell/trap card zone and End my Turn."
"Ooh~ I am excited to see what those cards are!"
Before my turn comes to an end, I build up the motivation to remember what his Extra Deck monsters are. I get a bigger headache, way stronger than usual. It is because my opponent has 6 Extra Deck Cards, and most people I fought so far had from 0 to 4.
'Lyrilusc - Recital Starling', 'Lyrilusc - Recital Starling', 'Lyrilusc - Recital Starling', 'Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale', 'Ripple Bird', and 'Kikinagashi Fuchi'
Regardless, now that I know his Extra Deck, I try to remember what each card is, except 'Ripple Bird', since I know that one. The headache is big enough to notice, and it is certainly makes me lose my focus slightly.
Which is the reason I decided to wait for my Turn before using this power. If I lose focus and zone out during the enemy's Turn things can go bad, very bad.
Apparently, he has an Extra Deck full of weak monsters with annoying effects. It reminds me of the Emperor, but with weak cards instead.
[End Phase]
